Destroying My Own World

Chapter 200: Doubt.

Mykel sat down and joined the others as he poured himself a glass of wine while everyone was looking at him. They were patiently waiting for him to say something because he looked like he had something to say.

"Sasha, did you hide something from me?" Mykel asked without looking at her. "Now that I think about it thoroughly, the story was my idea, but why it feels like you tried to change it?" Mykel glanced at her with a cold gaze.

"What are you talking about? I always showed you my writings so you would approve it or not," Sasha asked with her eyebrows furrowed.

"Exactly. You knew the idea of the ending that I wanted, and you knew that I don't like the bittersweet ending, but why did you write that ending?" Mykel pointed out and slowly moved his body toward Sasha. "Are you so depressed that you wanted the ending to be like that? Or perhaps, someone was guiding you to write that ending? Like that Angel you mentioned," Mykel asked again as he stared into Sasha's eyes.

Sasha looked back at Mykel's eyes back and forth, and she looked a bit nervous the longer she stared back into his eyes. She hesitated to answer his question, and the longer she took to answer, the more suspicious he would become.

"Tell me the whole truth," Mykel said and his gaze started to look cold. It was menacing that the warmth whenever he looked at Sasha was no longer there anymore.

In the end, Sasha couldn't hide anything from Mykel because he was always sharp but chose rather to ignore it or find out about it. At the same time, even after being stared at by him like that, and knowing that he noticed something suspicious about it, she still hesitated.

"You're not scared of Lucifer, so that shouldn't be him. You're not scared of the Archangels either, so that must not be them as well," Mykel said and didn't avert his gaze or blink for once. "You hesitate to tell me the truth, so you must have feared whoever helped you. Is it him? The Lord?" Mykel asked.

"You won't get the answer," Sasha answered as she tried to not show any fear. "There are things that should be kept a mystery," Sasha said as she stood up.

Amaryllis, Hera, and Beldathiel stared at Sasha and they started to suspect her for suddenly saying that.

"Looks like you already have someone who has your back, but you're trying to use me," Mykel said as he stood up and looked at Sasha. "Or, you're doing this on purpose, a mission, perhaps?" Mykel asked as he slowly walked toward Sasha.

Sasha's eyes started to tremble and she started to relive the moment in the past. She closed her eyes and started to breathe heavily because she couldn't take it anymore, but then suddenly Mykel put his hand on her head. She slowly opened her eyes and looked at Mykel's expression which changed drastically from earlier.

"This will be the end, for both of us," Mykel paused. "We are nothing but strangers from now on," Mykel continued and warped Sasha back to Earth and sent her back to Australia.

"You said that she was listening to my story? Did you tell her how I dealt with all the situations and how I overcome them?" Mykel asked as he looked at Amaryllis and Hera.

They both realized they had just revealed how Mykel's thoughts worked to Sasha so casually. They realized that if Sasha worked for someone and they just revealed Mykel's way of thinking, they had just jeopardized Mykel and his whole plan.

"I'm sorry, Mykel..." Amaryllis immediately went down to her knees and lowered her head. "I made a huge mistake!" Amaryllis continued as she bowed her head down to the floor.

"It's fine. What's done is done," Mykel said as he sighed and grabbed a bottle of wine. "I have suspected something is wrong about her ever since Uriel revealed everything she did," Mykel added and emptied the whole bottle.

"If the Archangels think Sasha isn't worthy of becoming The Lord's Disciple, then how did she come back to life and become one?" Mykel asked as he stared blankly at the wall. "I always have a doubt about her resurrection the moment I saw her grave. She came back for a reason, and that reason was not to persuade me," Mykel paused as he put a cigarette in his mouth. "She came back to either use me or stab me in the back," Mykel continued and lit the cigarette.

Amaryllis was still on her knees and she was disappointed in herself that she failed to see it. Hera was guilty as well, and she didn't know how to apologize to Mykel.

"Are you sure that it's not because she only has you? She's lonely and she has nobody to trust," Beldathiel asked as she walked to the table. "Anyone can see that she's genuinely happy, and I would do the same thing if I was here with her," Beldathiel pointed out.

"I never said I doubt her feelings. I only doubt her for what she hides from me," Mykel answered and looked at Beldathiel. "If she decided to hide it from me, then I don't have a reason to keep her by my side," Mykel continued.

Mykel stood up and approached Amaryllis because she had been on her knees without moving a muscle. He helped her stand up and showed his gentle smile at her to give her comfort and assured her that he wasn't angry or disappointed in her. He gently stroked her hair, and then walked back to his seat because he needed her to give him drinks.

"Did you send her back? I was quite surprised when I saw her standing in the middle of the road," Elena asked as soon as she entered the cabin.

"I did, why?" Mykel asked.

"I saw her sobbing and screaming on her knees. I was confused so I came here to ask you what happened to her," Elena answered and sat at the table. She then looked at Amaryllis' long face. "Looks like I missed a lot of things," Elena said and looked at Mykel.

Mykel explained to Elena what happened and why Sasha was like that. Elena listened to Mykel's explanation without showing a single reaction, and that made it impossible for the others to see what she thought. She started to look like Mykel because nobody knew what she thought until she opened her mouth.

"I did warn you," Elena said and looked at Mykel.

"You did warn me. No more feelings," Mykel nodded his head in agreement. "I have nothing to do with her anymore," Mykel said.

Elena suddenly smiled and she looked happy with the reply she got from Mykel.

"Well then, since we are close to proceeding to the next step, do you think we are ready?" Beldathiel asked and looked at Elena who grabbed a bottle of scotch that Amaryllis had put on the table.

"Sven, Gerrard, and Enma struggled to fight Astaroth, and Astaroth left so casually. Also, Gunnar, Vincze, and Nagy had a minor problem dealing with Leviathan's pet," Amaryllis pointed out. "These five leaders of the Eurasia Guild are counted as a threat as well, so if we have to fight all the Gods, Chosen Ones, and the Primordials at the same time, it would still be fine," Amaryllis added.

"You forgot to count the Dukes and the Princes of Hell, and Sasha with the Caveat Scroll inside her. Don't forget the Angels," Hera said as she looked at Amaryllis. "Earth will be destroyed the moment they all came down there. It will be you against the whole universe," Hera warned.

"The decision isn't mine to make, the leader is her and we will follow her to glory or even to hell. Nobody would regret it because we all trust in her," Mykel answered as he looked at Elena who drank the scotch.

"Although the reports that you just said sound like there's a problem, you have forgotten about the most important thing, Amy. What's everyone's current situation?" Elena asked as she looked at Amy.

Amaryllis raised her eyebrows and when she read their thoughts, she suddenly smiled and chuckled.

"Everyone is excited and they can't wait to break the seven Pillars of Earth. Everyone has found a lot of interesting things during their mission," Amaryllis answered.

"That should be enough to answer your question, right? Auntie?" Elena asked with a smile on her face.

"Does that mean my sleeping time is over?" Beldathiel asked as she stood up to approach Elena. "Why don't we just wait for a bit longer..." Beldathiel suggested and hugged Elena from behind, persuading her so she could sleep for more.

"Sleep time is over. It's time for the big war," Elena said as she shook her head. "We have killed humans, it's time to kill some Gods," Elena continued.
