Destroying My Own World

Chapter 202: True power.

"Well, he's all yours. We will try to block the Gods from going down here," Loki said as he turned around and looked at the Yggdrasil tree. "We might be able to buy you an hour, and after that, you have to take all the risk to fight him and all the Gods," Loki pointed out.

"An hour is more than enough, and they have to deal with Brynhilde first before they can go down here. She could buy me as much time as I needed," Jeanne replied as she unsheathed her sword and covered it with a divine aura to enhance the blade's sharpness and durability.

"Good luck, Jeanne," Hel said as she got up onto Fenrir's back.

Jeanne hummed and nodded her head, and then Loki and Hel left to create a barrier to prevent anyone from entering the underwood. She then watched Ymir slowly set his foot on the ground like Mount Everest just fell to the ground from the sky.

"So, all the Primordials are like this? Aurea would love to fight them all on her own," Jeanne said and activated her [Austerity] skill. "Let's see how strong are you compared to Mykel's clones," Jeanne clenched her toes and jumped up high toward Ymir's head.

Jeanne swung her sword, releasing a divine blast, and she thought it would be easy to kill Ymir knowing how big and slow he was. But, before the blast could hit Ymir's head, his hand moved so quickly to block it. She was surprised to see that he could move as fast as the blast and the blast was blocked like it was nothing.

"That was unexpected," Jeanne said as she sighed and spread her wings.

Jeanne flew in and she was as small as an ant in front of a skyscraper, but that didn't terrify her. When she was close enough to hit her sword on Ymir's neck, Ymir suddenly clapped his hands, creating its own gravitational force, and pulled her toward his hand.

She turned around and realized a small black hole was formed from a single clap, but her strength overpowered the force. She flew in and cut Ymir's neck, and then landed right on his collarbone.

Ymir stopped moving, and then his head slowly slid down to the side. He was decapitated by Jeanne's single attack, but suddenly his hand grabbed his head and put it back on his neck. He could live without his head and the moment he put his head back, it regenerated the wound and attached it back to his neck.

Jeanne didn't waste a single second watching and immediately slashed her sword all the way to Ymir's feet in just a second. She landed on the ground with mist covering her whole body, and then she turned around to see Ymir's body had been cut into hundreds of slices.

The body parts crumbled and collapsed to the ground, creating destructive earthquakes. That earthquake was enough to crumble the realms above, and all the Gods noticed the Yggdrasil tree was taking huge damage from it.

"What was that?" Freyja asked as she looked at the Yggdrasil tree shaking.

"It came from the underworld," Heimdall answered as he looked through Midgard, Muspelheim, and Helheim. "The only being who can shake the world tree is Ymir," Heimdall pointed out.

"Loki isn't here with us," Thor said as he glanced at the Gods around him. "I'll go and check what's happening down there," Thor added as he charged his Mjolnir.

When everyone was concerned about the Yggdrasil tree, they heard Jormungandr's growl being cut off. They all turned around and saw Jormungandr's head falling with its green blood spurting out. They were shocked, the world serpent got defeated, and the person who killed it casually wiped the blood off her blade.

"Averting your gaze during a battle. Have you all forgotten how stupid it is?" Brynhilde asked and looked at all the Gods around her. "The moment you showed your back to me, I'll put my sword into your heart," Brynhilde warned as she looked at Thor.

Thor didn't care about the threat and immediately shot a bolt of lightning down to the ground. He became one with the current, but before he could reach the ground, he was stabbed in the back by a sword that pierced through his heart.

"I should have known that Gods are arrogant and ignorant," Brynhilde said as she looked at Thor gasping for air. "I hope you won't make the same mistake twice," Brynhilde added and started to drag her sword and cut open the top half of his body.

All the Gods were shocked, and Magnus was trembling in fear, seeing a powerful God get killed so easily. They all then looked at Brynhilde and didn't hesitate to use everything they got to kill her. Although Thor was killed, he would come back to life again since that was the gift from The Lord for obeying the Rule of the World.

"This is more like it," Brynhilde said as she raised her sword and readied her stance.

Jeanne sheathed her sword and Loki suddenly appeared right behind her, shocked by what he saw. He was shocked not because of how strong Jeanne was, but because Ymir couldn't regain his body anymore. He was dead, and that was what made his eyes wide open in disbelief.

"It's over already?" Hel asked as she jumped off Fenrir's back. "How's that possible?!" Hel looked at Ymir's body parts that scattered around the ground and fell into the empty space.

"That's what he gets for not taking the battle seriously. I don't know how strong Ymir actually is, but he underestimated me and that was enough to end the fight," Jeanne answered. "Now that I have killed him, he can't enter your realm, right?" Jeanne asked as she looked at Loki.

"Yes. He's a Primordial being, and he should be back to where he belongs, the Ginnungagap," Loki answered as he nodded his head and was still in disbelief. "That sword of yours. What's it made of?" Loki asked and looked at the sword hanging on Jeanne's waist.

"Why would I tell you that? That's a secret," Jeanne smiled and then walked away as she looked at the sky that felt heavier than before.

Jeanne closed her eyes as she furrowed her eyebrows and gently massaged the bridge of her nose. She looked in pain, but she immediately recovered, and then she spread her wings to meet with Brynhilde and checked the situation above.

Hel was standing still, staring at Ymir's dead body and the flood that started to drown the whole ground. Loki wondered why Hel was frozen still like that, so he approached her and put his hand on her shoulder from behind.

"What's the matter?" Loki asked and peeked his head to look at Hel's face.

"Something isn't right," Hel answered. "I'm not talking about Ymir's death, but I can't feel anything the moment of his death," Hel pointed out and looked at the other body parts in the distance. "I think I understand why Ymir was defeated so easily," Hel added.

"Why is that?" Loki asked as he walked to the front and looked at Hel.

"Jeanne's power or her sword. She didn't only cut Ymir's physical, she also cut Ymir's soul. That was why he died immediately before he could regenerate his body," Hel explained. "The first attack was just a test to see if her sword was capable to cut the body. The second attack was when she sliced the body and the soul," Hel continued.

"What you're saying is?" Loki asked with his eyebrows raised.

"As long as her sword can cut it, she will kill it no matter how powerful her target is," Hel answered and stared into Loki's eyes.

Jeanne walked out of the gate and suddenly she staggered and went on all four. Her head was spinning and she never thought it would be that bad, the drawback of using the [Austerity] skill at full power. Her head was spinning and so she sat down and leaned on the wall to ease the headache.

"Let me see," Amaryllis gently touched Jeanne's cheek.

Jeanne slowly opened her eyes, and her vision was all red like she was swimming in blood. The veins in her eyes popped and ruptured so that her eyes started to bleed, and nothing she or Amaryllis could do about it.

"You shouldn't use that skill when your enemy is still at their prime. You took the same amount of damage as the one you dealt to them. Ymir is a powerful being, and you killed him immediately like that is only endangering yourself," Amaryllis suggested as she carefully wiped the blood in Jeanne's eyes with her dress.

"This is the first time I used this skill to kill. When I used it against your homunculus, I thought the drawback would be fine if I used it against Ymir. Then I realized your homunculus didn't have a soul, and there was no drawback because of it," Jeanne explained as she chuckled weakly.

"Get some rest, you're safe now that I'm here," Amaryllis said as she kept treating the wound that couldn't be healed since Jeanne's body and soul were heavily damaged.

"Thank you. I'll leave everything to you now," Jeanne smiled and then passed out.
