Destroying My Own World

Chapter 203: A speck of dust.

Magnus watched the Valkyries scattered on the field with their missing limbs and the broken armor they wore. They were supposed to be the final line of defense, but they all lost to Brynhilde. The strongest Gods in Norse mythology had all been defeated as well, and the only one who was still standing was him, with the raven wings on his back.

Brynhilde stared at Magnus and it made him feel threatened, but there was nothing he could do. Suddenly she sheathed her sword, and then a portal formed right behind her. Amaryllis and Jeanne came out of it and they both were taken aback when they saw so many dead bodies on the ground.

"What's your purpose, Jeanne? Why are you doing this?" Magnus asked and looked at Jeanne who looked exhausted.

"Are you strong enough to hear the answer? Because if not, you're going to be a broken man. It's better for you to not know anything," Jeanne answered as she wiped her eyes, but blood came out of her left eye.

Magnus could see the blood, and he was confused and a bit concerned about her condition. But then he focused on the words she said, and he thought about why he should be worried about the answer knowing he had nothing to lose anymore.

"Tell me the reason," Magnus said with a serious expression.

"To summon the Gods down to Earth," Jeanne said as she put a handkerchief on her left eye. "Not the Gods of Earth, those who live above us and these Gods," Jeanne added as she pointed at the sky.

"What do you mean by that? I don't understand?" Magnus asked with his eyebrows furrowed.

"Look around you, do you see why we can are still in Norway, but humans can't see us or are unaffected by whatever happens here?" Jeanne asked as she pointed at the city. "It's because we are in another realm and a barrier prevents the Realm of Gods to be seen by humans. We can see them, but they can't see us. Now that you know, there's a sky above the sky, or to be exact, the space isn't just filled with stars and planets, there are beings who control them," Jeanne explained as she looked at the sky.

Magnus looked up and wondered what she meant by that, but the more he looked at the sky, the more he realized something slightly changed. He could feel someone or something watching them from the sky, and the more he felt it, the more he became uncomfortable.

"We will break all the barriers and let humans see what they couldn't see in the sky of Earth, and then let them see what exists in space," Jeanne said. "Soon, human existence will be nothing but a speck of dust in the eyes of the Gods," Jeanne pointed out.

"You're trying to kill us all..." Magnus said and looked at Jeanne in disbelief.

"No, we're not," Jeanne shook her head. "We just want our freedom and live our own way, and this is just the process of it," Jeanne pointed out and looked at Magnus with a serious expression. "It has begun, so prepare yourself," Jeanne added and then Amaryllis warped away with her and Brynhilde.

Magnus was confused and terrified at the same time, knowing how things would only get worse from there. He then looked at all the Gods slowly regaining their consciousness, and that surprised him.

Thor suddenly opened a rift by tearing the space in front of him with lightning. He entered the rift, and then all the Gods followed him from behind because they knew where he was going.

"(Follow them)" Odin said.

Magnus entered the rift, and immediately he felt his bone stabbed by the cold. Fortunately, his [Odin's Blessing] skill helped him deal with the cold, and he could follow the Gods in front of them without a problem.

Magnus felt uncomfortable by the world he was in, and he knew he was in the underworld where souls went after death. He then looked at all the Gods that kept flying down and the deeper they went, the darker and the colder it became.

When Magnus flew down on the far back, he could hear crackling sounds from behind. He looked back and saw nothing but the roots, and then suddenly a pair of yellow eyes glowed and stared into his soul. He felt a chill down his spine and hurriedly caught up with the Gods so he could feel safe.

Magnus watched Thor in the far distance, floating in between the mist, and wondered what had happened. When all the Gods stopped right behind Thor, Magnus saw what they saw, a sea of blood.

"This is..." Freyja was too shocked to finish her sentence.

"Ymir's blood. Ymir has been defeated," Odin said as he appeared from the mist. "Jeanne killed the pillar, and now there's only six of them left," Odin pointed out.

"They're trying to break the barrier, and Loki is helping them," Thor said and looked at Odin with an angry expression. "We need to find him, and Hel for guiding her here," Thor pointed out.

"And then what?" Odin looked at Thor. "What are you going to do to them? Kill them? Would that change the fact Ymir is dead?" Odin asked with his eyebrows raised.

Nobody could utter their opinion about what they should do to Loki and Hel. They realized it was already too late, the dice had been thrown, and they could only see the outcome.

"But we still have to find them, especially Loki. We need to ask him what he knows, and what Mykel and the others are trying to do," Freyja said and looked at Odin. "We know him, and he's not but bad news," Freyja pointed out.

Hearing the conversation, Magnus realized those Gods seemed to know Mykel really well. He wanted to ask but was too afraid to open his mouth.

"You don't have to waste your time finding me. I'm here, and I'm not going anywhere knowing Odin can find me easily," Loki said and appeared right behind Magnus. "This guy right here already knows the answer to your question. Isn't that right?" Loki pointed out as he wrapped his arms around Magnus' neck from behind.

(In Russia)

Aurea and Lillith looked at the gate in front of them, and they both casually walked toward it, unnoticed by the soldiers or even by Awakeners and Chosen Ones. It was Lillith's doing and controlling everyone's senses, her old skill [Sentient Control]. They both then entered the gate and found themselves in a world that felt familiar to the nine realms in Norse mythology.

"The World Tree," Amaryllis said as she appeared right behind Aurea and Lillith. "The Oak tree is what they called it," Amaryllis looked at the giant tree, as big as Yggdrasil tree.

Aurea and Lillith turned around and saw Brynhilde and Jeanne standing behind them. They noticed Jeanne's complexion was a bit off, and Aurea could sense she was dying by looking at her damaged soul.

"You okay?" Aurea asked with her eyebrows furrowed and looked concerned.

"Not really, but I should be fine," Jeanne shook her head and her eyes were still red.

"Just go and see Mykel. I think it's better for you to rest rather than be here," Aurea suggested. "I'm not saying because I'm worried about you being a nuisance, but I don't think you should be exhausting yourself in someone else's war," Aurea added.

Jeanne didn't want to go back in that condition because Mykel would be worried about her well-being. But after listening to Aurea, she decided to go and Amaryllis sent her to the Empyrean World where Mykel and Elena were with Byrnhilde.

"So? Who are we going to find here?" Aurea asked Amaryllis.

"Volos, the one who protects this realm. Based on what Hera said, Volos is the strongest of the seven pillars in this realm," Amaryllis answered.

"Really? That's something worth waiting for," Aurea chuckled and looked at the giant tree in the distance.

"Of course, that's why Elena sent you here. She knows what you want after all," Amaryllis pointed out with a gentle smile as she looked at Aurea.

"I'm going to kiss her when I'm back because I can already tell how fun this going to be," Aurea said and saw dots flying from the top of the tree.
