The battlefield was a chaotic symphony of violence. Explosions thundered through the ruined city streets, gunfire cracked in every direction, and the sharp clang of metal against metal filled the air. The Resistance fighters fought tooth and nail, their desperation evident in every swing of their weapons. The Dark Valkyries, clad in sleek black armor with glowing crimson runes, moved with terrifying precision, their angelic wings slicing through the dust and debris like spectral blades.
Amidst the carnage, two figures stood out, their battle drawing attention even as chaos reigned around them.
Elsa Bloodstone, the infamous hunter of monsters and rebel leader, stood with her shotgun resting against her shoulder, her wild red hair streaked with dirt and sweat. She wore a wicked grin, her orange-and-black combat suit torn in places but her spirit unshaken. Across from her, standing with cold poise, was Brunhilde, a high-ranking Dark Valkyrie, her black-and-silver armor gleaming under the artificial neon lights of the city. Her long, dark hair flowed behind her like a cape, her piercing violet eyes locked onto Elsa with a look of amused superiority.
Brunhilde twirled her runed longsword in her grip, its edges crackling with ominous dark energy. "You should have stayed in the shadows, Bloodstone," she mused, her voice smooth but laced with venom. "Your pitiful Resistance always ends the same way—slaughtered like the vermin you are."
Elsa smirked, rolling her neck before pumping her shotgun. "Yeah, yeah, same old villain monologue. Let me guess, you're about to tell me how 'glorious' your Supreme God is?" She scoffed. "Thor's nothing but a washed-up old man playing king of a broken throne. A God of Thunder? More like a senile sack of bones with a hammer fetish."
Brunhilde's expression didn't change, but her grip on the sword tightened. "Blasphemy."
"Oh, I'm sorry," Elsa continued, voice dripping with mockery. "Did I offend you? You and your little cult of bootlickers worshipping an outdated fossil like he's still relevant? Wake up, sweetheart. If your Supreme God was so great, why is this city still a dump?" She gestured to the burning buildings and starving citizens. "Some 'paradise' he's built."
Brunhilde's lips curled into a smirk, but there was clear fury burning in her violet eyes. "And yet, despite all your arrogance, all your rebellion, your people still kneel to us when they are hungry. Still beg us when they are weak. You are nothing but insects, flailing against the inevitable. The Supreme God allows you to exist only because you amuse him."
Elsa raised her shotgun. "Then I guess it's time we stopped being entertaining."
With a thunderous BOOM, the first shot rang out. Brunhilde dashed forward, her sword deflecting the blast effortlessly as she closed the distance. Elsa cursed, dropping low just as the Valkyrie's blade sliced through the air above her. In a blink, she rolled to the side, swinging her shotgun up and unloading another blast. Brunhilde twisted her body, the pellets grazing her armor but failing to pierce through.
Then the real fight began.
Brunhilde struck with the speed of a viper, her sword a blur as it slashed toward Elsa's head. Elsa barely managed to block with the reinforced barrel of her shotgun, the impact sending vibrations up her arms. She retaliated with a spinning kick, catching Brunhilde in the ribs and forcing her back a step.
But the Valkyrie wasn't fazed. She flared her wings and launched forward, delivering a devastating downward slash. Elsa dove away just in time, the ground where she stood moments ago splitting apart from the sheer force of the attack.
All around them, the battle raged. Resistance fighters screamed as they were impaled by Valkyrie spears, their bodies tossed aside like ragdolls. The rebels fought back fiercely, their makeshift weapons cutting down armored warriors, but the tide was clearly against them.
Elsa gritted her teeth. 'Not good. We're getting slaughtered.'
Brunhilde's mocking voice cut through the noise. "Look around, Bloodstone. Your people are dying, your cause is crumbling, and you? You're outmatched." She pointed her sword at Elsa. "Kneel now, and I might let you live long enough to serve as entertainment for the Supreme God."
Elsa spat blood onto the ground, wiping her mouth with the back of her glove. "I'd rather let a demon eat my intestines than bow to that old relic."
Brunhilde smirked. "Your loss."
With a flick of her wrist, she sent a wave of dark energy slamming into Elsa. The force sent her flying, her body crashing through the remains of a crumbling vehicle. Gasping for breath, she struggled to push herself up, but her shotgun had been knocked away in the blast.
Brunhilde walked toward her with slow, confident steps, dragging her sword along the ground, sparks flying from its edge. "This was inevitable," she murmured. "You rebels are all the same—fighting battles you were never meant to win."
Elsa lunged for a nearby pistol, but Brunhilde was faster. A swift kick sent the weapon skidding out of reach, and before Elsa could react, the Valkyrie's sword was at her throat.
A sharp shhhk filled the air as Brunhilde pulled back her blade for the final strike. Elsa's body tensed.
"Shit."
The blade came down—
CLANG!
A sudden force stopped it mid-air.
Elsa's eyes widened as she saw a pale hand gripping the sword's edge. The air crackled with static, and the blade trembled, struggling against an iron grip.
Brunhilde's eyes flicked up in confusion, only to meet the glowing crimson gaze of the white-haired boy she had dismissed earlier.
His fingers tightened around the sword's edge, cracks forming along the enchanted steel. His expression was calm, almost bored, as if this moment was nothing more than a mild inconvenience to him. His red eyes shimmered with an eerie light.
Elsa, still on the ground, stared at him in complete shock. "You?"
Aidan smirked, glancing down at her. "This isn't Free you know..." He turned his attention back to Brunhilde, his fingers finally clenching—
And the Valkyrie's sword shattered in his grasp.
As shards of steel rained down around them, Aidan flexed his fingers and looked back at Elsa. "You owe me one."
....
Brunhilde's violet eyes burned with fury as she stared at Aiden, her voice trembling with rage. "Who are you?" she demanded, her words sharp as a blade. "How dare you challenge the Supreme God's authority?! You... Damned Child!!"
Aiden's crimson gaze remained calm, the corner of his mouth lifting into a faint, almost bored smile. "It's kind of pathetic, don't you think?" he replied, his voice smooth, almost lazy. "Calling yourself a 'Supreme' God. You can't even protect your own people, much less maintain control over a broken empire."
Brunhilde's fury exploded. "You dare speak about the Supreme in such manner?!" Her hand shot out, a spear of dark energy materializing from the air with an ominous crackle. The weapon gleamed with a malevolent aura that seemed to swallow the very light around it, its presence making the ground beneath their feet tremble.
The air around them thickened, and the ground began to distort, the dark power of the spear suffocating the space. "I will make you regret your insolence, boy," she snarled, her voice becoming almost a growl as the spear's dark aura reached its peak. "This is the might of the Supreme God! You will bow or perish!"
With a scream of pure wrath, Brunhilde lunged, aiming to impale Aiden with the spear.
Aiden sighed, looking almost tired. He raised his hand just as the spear came down, a casual gesture that seemed to mock the sheer destructive power Brunhilde was wielding.
And then, with an explosion of flame, the spear's dark aura began to disappear. The black energy was eaten away, evaporating into nothing as Aiden's body became surrounded by fire. He smirked as flames erupted around him, the heat bending the air, creating a distortion around his figure. "Is this really the best you've got, Valkyrie? Never Really fought a god, but I did kill many man thinking they're one....Hopefully your god isn't one of them...."
Brunhilde's eyes widened in disbelief as her spear disintegrated, the dark power vanishing into the ether. She tried to pull it back, but Aiden's grip was already on her. In a blink, his fist collided with her face, sending her hurtling across the battlefield with such force that the sound of her body crashing through several nearby buildings echoed like thunder.
Aiden didn't move. He simply watched, his expression unchanged.
'Welp.....She isn't dead. Better this way' He could feel her strength. The Valkyrie was strong....far too strong to fall so easily. But he hadn't made up his mind yet. Who was truly in the right here? He wasn't sure. But one thing was clear: no sane ruler should call themselves "Supreme," not when their empire was in ruins, their people suffering, and the very foundation of their power built on lies.
As the dust settled, Aiden turned toward where the Resistance fighters were still battling. His crimson eyes narrowed, and sparks of lightning crackled to life in his palms, tendrils of energy dancing like living serpents. He jumped into the fray without hesitation, landing between a group of Valkyries and Resistance warriors.
Without a word, he unleashed a massive Dragon Lighting Breath, a torrent of electricity roaring from his mouth in a blaze of pure energy. The blast surged across the battlefield, cracking the air and engulfing dozens of Valkyries, their forms lighting up like fireworks before they crumpled to the ground, electrocuted and knocked unconscious.
Aiden grinned. "That should do it for now," he muttered to himself, eyes scanning the battlefield for more enemies to deal with.
Just as he was about to step forward and finish the remaining Valkyries, an explosion ripped through a nearby building, sending debris flying into the air. Aiden's head snapped toward the source of the blast, his sharp senses picking up the intense heat and energy release.
He saw Elsa Bloodstone standing nearby, shouting orders. "All forces retreat!" she called, her voice cutting through the chaos. "The main fuel engine has been destroyed! the Attack is a success! Let's get the hell out of here !!"
Resistance fighters scrambled, retreating as quickly as they could. Aiden watched them, his mind racing. 'So, that's what they were after....I did think they were pretty reckless to attack just for the heck of it.....Guess whatever they planned is already done'
As if on cue, another squad emerged from the shadows, their faces grim but triumphant. They had done it—successfully destroying the power core that fed the Empire, while also making off with crucial food supplies. The Resistance was winning the battle, but the war was far from over.
Aiden stood there, watching the fleeing fighters, his expression unreadable. He could feel the tension building, but he knew it wasn't time to chase the Valkyries down. The battle had shifted, and now, there was no point in fighting for the sake of fighting.
He turned away from the battlefield, his form disappearing into the shadows. With a flick of his hand, the darkness responded, swirling around him like a cloak.
Elsa was still in sight, leading the retreat with fierce determination. As Aiden moved through the shadows, he felt their connection. Her energy, her resolve, was like a beacon in the dark, and it pulled at him. He wasn't going to let her go, not yet.
'Time to get moving.'
He swept through the shadows, following Elsa and her team, his red eyes glowing brighter with each step. The shadows obeyed his will, slipping and slithering around him, amplifying his power.
