Chapter 33: Ch. 33 Personal time skip
Magnus is sitting in the garden looking at his pond and while system shopping. He enjoys a spread of random food combinations he made to go with his tea and has incense burning in the air creating a soothing atmosphere. While waiting for Noelle he had taken care of all his responsibilities for the next few days. The magic knights assured him they didn't need his help, He was fully prepped for the trip, done with all his paperwork and saw that everyone was on track with their training. So he would relax until she got back, a rare opportunity for Magnus. Closing his system he took a bite from one of his dishes and nearly vomits. "That's beyond foul. Pineapple does not go on pizza, the god's tongue can't even help it." He looks around and notices that this morning has been particularly quiet. No random explosions or unnecessarily loud yelling. The kids ran off into town earlier, and the adults were drinking and trading stories leaving Magnus alone with true serenity. Magnus didn't get this often anymore and he was taking advantage of his time to relax. "Joker kingdom, what do you have in store for me?"
"Who knows, but I figure we might get some strong opponents, I'm thinking one of the Warlords from what intelligence suggests."
"I'd be excited to fight Mihaw-wait Kurama!? How are you out?" Sitting in a chair next to Magnus was the red-haired human form Kurama took with one of Magnus clones.
"I made a clone for myself, I figured it out when you did it. Heheh, Veldora and Ddraig are pissed Galileo can't make clones. Dragon clone jutsu they said, you ever heard of something so dumb? Don't mind if I help myself to some of this food."
"So you only came out because I decided to cook today?"
"Mayfe." He had already cleaned one of the plates. Kurama swallowed his food, poured a cup of tea and sat down. "If Mihawk's added strength is similar to Madara's he could be a handful for you. As a ninja he outclassed you, and he had the body of an Otsutsuki, and his eyes are stranger and stronger than yours. I know from the holy text(manga) none of the warlords could fight original Madara. Hell, maybe even altogether he would outclass them, but now I am sure they all have gifts seeing as they came as a set. Not a particular person was summoned so I would assume they all got supped up, the one I sensed was about as strong as four of those captains together."
"Well I would expect no less from people this world summoned to kill us." Says Magnus not really caring One Piece issues would be Gali's problem. Magnus and Kurama discussed many issues over dinner, it was a serene moment. If one were to look in from the outside, it would look like a painting. The two had entered a harmonious state in between heaven and earth that only happens rarely in people with absolute trust called 'harmonious hearts of life and death kindreds'. While the two handsome men who could be brothers laughing like kids at times, super serious at times and a beautiful garden in the background.
Magnus found out a lot from Kurama who plays around out a lot, such as him accepting Mimosa as a disciple. He says since she's a demon fox he might as well, and he pretty much knows all the relationship gossip. Like one story was that the king was going to try and adopt a few prodigies from common backgrounds who have high talent in otherworldly energy it sounds benevolent but it is really house Kira-Clover's attempt at a balancing act while also officially separating into two factions in Clover demons and anti-demon. Anti-demon faction believe that the demons only came because of other demons, really a bunch of cowards or people with political agendas. The demon faction's logic is simple if it's born in clover and has its own human-like intelligence it is a citizen. So far the magic knights have remained impartial but some of their members from noble houses are being forced to choose sides.
"I could believe the anti-demon faction will come and try to get your support against Galileo. The entire kingdom is slowly dividing over this."
"Why did he have to become a demon of all things? No- I can't blame Gali for this, he couldn't have known that his choice of powers would change effect our surroundings this much. It'd have been much simpler if only he had been changed into a demon..."
They talked a bit more, until they got a notification in the system. "(Timer expired. Noelle's two years of training in the hyperbolic time chamber have ended. Opening gate in three…two…one.)" As soon as the countdown ended a golden star orbited by great torrents of water shone high above the kingdom. From the light a powerful aura descended over Clover with a golden rain. As arrogant and domineering as Magnus when angered yet it had sort of grace that would put one's heart in awe. From the star descended a column of light that shone directly over the Pendragon's pond.
"Who else but my Empress could have such an overwhelming entrance!" Magnus was excited to see Noelle return. "House Pendragon is the greatest HAHAHAHAHA!"
"Dial it back man. You're making us look like we're up to something again." Kurama groans. He knows how attached Magnus has become to his fiancé over the last few years. Noelle's presence made Magnus more lively, and without her input he'd have gone down a much darker path ascending the throne to Clover. At that time Galileo probably couldn't have stopped him, but Noelle was able to mellow him out while still motivating him to be better. Kurama shuddered to think of what could happen if Noelle was ever harmed. If humans could have a reverse scale, Noelle would be Magnus'.
From the column of light Noelle descends at it's center until she's standing on the water. She wears a simple pure white dress and holding a solid white longsword.
Across the kingdom Galileo's group who were travelling aboard Dragon Tale's flying ship Galileo purchased from the system. Galileo wanted to get the schematics to one like the blue Pegasus guild's Christina, but a certain two dragons have made managing points difficult. So, he had to settle for an old creepy looking model similar to the one used by the Night Parade's forces. Even from there, he could see and feel the aura clearly. "You take another big step ahead huh Magnus? No wait, that can't be him, this emperor's intent feels off."
"It's Noelle, it has to be. That's definitely her magic, only far more refined" Says Lumiette watching beside him. Her rival had undergone another evolution as well, going so far as to awaken empress intent.
"So Magnus gave her the ticket?"
"DIEEEE BASTARD!" Galileo's newest 'disciple' Gaian tries to bash his head in with a heavy club, but Galileo phases and he misses again smashing the railing. The excess momentum of his swing causes him to fall over the edge.
"Stop wrecking my ship little bastard! And learn to use haki already!" Galileo shouts after him.
"Galileo go after him! Gaian can't fly!"
"Can't he use moonwalk yet?"
"NO!"
"Dammit!" Galileo facepalms and jumps off after him. Leopold laughs at the scene while Yuno wonders if this group is cut out for politics.
Back at the Pendragon estate Noelle walked across the water's surface, every elegant step left a golden ripple. The fish in the water all lowered their heads to the water empress and in turn their bodies were nourished causing them to grow several times larger and grow small but currently vestigial wings, they had become baby Kun! None of them stirred until Noelle had left the water and stood before Magnus and Kurama. It was clear she wasn't just stronger, but actually older. Noelle was now a few inches taller, her face lost some of its childish roundness and she started to grow in certain other places.
Magnus was captivated with the divine looking girl in front of him, who's entire aura matched his as perfectly as the left hand to the right. "Noelle…welcome back. You-you've changed a bit."
"Have I? Is that a good thing?"
"Yes, definitely."
Noelle frowned at him "Oh really?"
"Well no. Hold on, I mean-"
"It's fine I'm messing with you" Noelle laughed. She had never seen Magnus flustered so that was another bonus for her return. Also she liked being as old as Magnus and their rivals deep down. "I'm happy to be back together with you and everyone else. Those two years I improved a lot but there was too much I realized I am not ready to give up. That hyperbolic time whatever barely had the simplest of basic necessities! When I say basic, I mean BASIC! There are certain things are things a girl should never have to go without. They really want you to focus on training in there. Oh, don't even get me started on the food! Please tell me you made something Magnus. I'd kill for a real meal right now."
"I prepared a feast especially for you."
"You treat me so well."
As they were about to go inside another light shone brightly in the sky above the capital, the magic knight's headquarters specifically. This one had a rosy color giving off a whimsical feeling, lighthearted and soothing but still vast and powerful.
"Was someone else in there with me?"
"Galileo I thought, but it seems like he gave his ticket away too. He changed a little too much if that's his aura."
"That should be Captain Dorothy Unsworth" Kurama answers. "Ddraig tells me she brought in the other captains via dream world."
"(How often do you gossip with those dragons?)"
Soon after the light faded from above nine more appeared all as grand as the first but with completely different natures. One as imposing and proud as a lion in the sun, another noble and magnificent as an eagle adorned in silver, that one lethal and sharp like a blade in the dark. But most shocking was the aura that seemed to encompass them all. It felt as if it had been there and would remain forever, an endless feeling…timeless. The light didn't fade with the others either. From all across the capital everyone saw the light compress into a new star of revolving pages in the sky above. It radiated a heroic aura for all to witness.
"The captains of the royal magic knight's and the wizard king have returned." Madara had appeared next to Magnus and Noelle watching the lights at some point.
"What- Madara? Don't just appear like that!" With it being the first time around anyone his tier as a ninja, getting snuck up on was almost a foreign concept to Magnus.
"See it is startling, isn't it?" Says Noelle who was less surprised by Madara's presence, since Magnus does it so much.
"I don't know why you're asking me, I wasn't startled."
"You don't have to lie. It's written all over your face!"
"Well you must not be able to read."
"Hahaha, as prideful as his father!" Siegfried laughs.
"You two argue like an old married couple already." Kurama joked.
"I don't remember meeting you but you seem familiar." Says Madara finally taking notice of him.
"(Shit! I forgot I was avoiding him!)"
"Ah those tails make you look like kyuubi. No, with that chakra, you must actually be him. Though I've never heard of a Bijuu taking human form before…Interesting."
"H-Hey, don't talk like I'm not right in front of you! My name is Kurama Pendragon, not the Kyuubi." Kurama let his energy flow freely to show he was not afraid of him.
"Is that so? Kurama Pendragon, I will be sure remember that name." His sharingan flashes and he lets his own energy match Kurama's. The two face off silently until distant shouting catches their attention.
"BIG BROTHER!" Morgiana was flying full speed ahead sobbing.
"Slow down Morgiana I said I was sorry!" Behind her Asta is trying to catch up. Kirsch and Madara's disciples all follow casually.
Morgiana lands and sprints up to Magnus and spouts a bunch of incomprehensible babble."(Great, she's acting like a baby again) No one can understand you like that." A handkerchief appears in Magnus hand which he gives to Morgiana. "Calm down, and speak clearly."
"My-my sword" was all she could stammer before bursting into tears again. She draws half of her zanpakuto from it's sheath and hold's it up to Magnus. Siegfried had an embarrassed look watching his student cry, and of course Noelle was quick to console her.
"Woah the blade is completely destroyed…" Magnus was slightly impressed by the damage done.
Asta landed and immediately started filling them in on what happened. They had got bored in town and went to spar at the Vermillion training ground to not disturb Magnus. Morgiana and Asta got into a heated match and when he unknowingly unleashed a new technique it was strong enough to break her unreleased Zanpakuto. Magnus scolded both of them for being reckless, but really he was impressed at the damage Asta did. He went on to assure Morgiana that since it wasn't in Bankai form her sword could repair itself when her energy recovered. At the most it'd be a day or two.
"N-no that's too long I need My sword back now!" This she said clearly through her sobs. "I'll be defenseless again!"
Defenseless? The heck? You are born with half of my powers. How do you and defenseless go in the same sentence?! Magnus almost laughed until he realized she was serious. It was like having a sword was directly linked to her confidence. Without it she was a timid crybaby, but as soon as he put the sword in her hand she had become a demon. Trace lines rebuilt the missing half of the sword and he handed it back.
"Thank you a thousand times!" Morgiana immediately stopped crying and gave her brother a big spine cracking bear hug. Taking the sword she does several practice swings before sheathing it. "Dumbsta! I want a rematch! You might have got me last time but-"
"Save it crybaby swordswoman, that's enough for today. My feast isn't going cold for your rematch." He grabs her ear and starts walking towards the house.
"Ow! Ow! Brother, my ear is coming off! Let go!"
