Endless Horde: Through the Eyes of a Godking

Chapter 614: Chaos vs. Void (III)

--

The bombardment never stopped. They can't afford to since there are just too many of them.

It seemed that the faster they killed, the faster they poured in, which wasn't the case at all, but nevertheless made them feel that way.

As for the Paragons that are now trapped inside isolated zones to confront the Royal Guards of the void, they are displaying their might at full capacity.

Screech!!

The Royal Guards' screams of pain, agony, and defiance could be heard even outside the bubbles, a testament to how aggrieved they were in their current situation.

Were the Royal Guards strong? Yes, undoubtedly so. They were hand-picked by the main consciousness of the Void and the Void Prince himself. They were blessed, empowered, and wizened, making them ten times better compared to other ordinary void creatures, and throughout the years that they didn't make an appearance, they became even stronger.

If the Border Patrol Office remained as they were in the past, or if Cedric didn't appear at all, this could've been catastrophic for all living beings. Even a single Royal Guard could've done so much damage to them.

Fortunately, things are different now...

The changes Cedric brought were immense, and they increased the realm's chances of survival. The Chancellors and the Paragons are way stronger than ever. They didn't just keep up; they were ahead, and it shows.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The Paragons were merciless. Their faces displayed thick killing intent towards the Royal Guards, completely intolerant of their existence. They held nothing back on each attack. Every time they released a blow, it wasn't just to maim but to kill.

And the Royal Guards were suffering immensely from that...

Their tough hides were blasted with overwhelming force, their mystical forces were neutralized by techniques, their movements were restricted, and they were being cornered at every step of the way.

Once the Paragons attacked, there was no rest. They didn't allow the Royal Guards to adjust to have any breathing room; they were relentless in their actions and were determined to never let a single one live.

The Royal Guards tried everything they could. From clawing, biting, scratching, punching, and kicking...to attempts at devouring life to replenish their energies, eating projectiles, running away, and even commanding the void air to overwhelm their foes, but none worked. They were countered at every single move.

It's as if these living beings could see the future or knew them inside and out, and better than themselves...

It was aggravating. They've never been so outclassed and beaten like this. Not even the Void Prince did something like this to them, so one could only imagine what they're feeling.

But would the Paragons care about what their enemies feel? Of course not!

Nobody told them to come here. They invaded on their own. Sure, they were provoked, but the decision for them to come here was up to them, or rather, the Void Prince. So, if they have any complaints, they should be directed to their prince.

"Die! Die! Die!"

"Disappear, you scum!"

"Get out of our world!"

"Death to you, abominations!"

"We will eradicate you all!"

The children of Primordial Chaos didn't care whether the void creatures understood their words or not. They care more about their mission, which is to eliminate as many of them as they can because without the womb, they can't reproduce. And since their prince thought it was a good idea to send them to their deaths, who were they to miss this once-in-a-lifetime chance?

It took a while, but eventually, the Royal Guards fell one by one...

Their deaths weren't pretty, but who cares? What matters is that they won't be a problem anymore. By now, only a handful of them were left, and they were the most resilient and durable ones. Though they won't live long enough, too, because those who were done killing their targets were coming to offer their support.

Yes, teamwork is the dream work...

Behind the scenes, Cedric and the Chancellors were watching these all happen...

Although they've yet to make an appearance, their presence was still a solid influence on the army, and knowing that they could handle this extreme situation even without them was empowering to the army on its own, just as much as the fact that if things go bad, they'd be there to save the day.

They were inwardly glad to see that everything was going well so far, though of course it's not yet time to celebrate their victory.

Cedric and the Chancellors were waiting for the Void Prince to make an appearance. They knew he was coming; there's no way he'd rally this many of his subjects only to not show up in the end. Him not showing up means that he could swallow up this direct provocation, and if he showed that kind of weakness, his subjects will be the first ones to tear him apart.

As amusing as that scene could be, it is very unlikely to happen, so he will show up.

And they're not wrong. It just took some time for some reason...

[Alert! The Void Prince is in sight! ]

[I repeat! The Void Prince is on sight!]

Chancellor Igor's eyes gleamed dangerously. He's the first one to rise from his seat and march out of the room they're in.

No words were said. There was no need to. Everybody knew what they had to do. It's a tacit understanding at this point.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The northwestern void gate exploded all of a sudden. The structure holding up its shape and limiting the flow of the void was blown up by the sudden intrusion of the Void Prince, who was seething in anger at the sight of his kind suffering.

His suffocating presence drowned the entire camp. It's as if he's carrying the void on his back and unceremoniously spilled all of it out there.

If this were the past, this could've been catastrophic. The void flood will surely submerge and erase the entire northwestern camp in minutes. Fortunately, things are no longer the same.

Even though the void spilled like an ocean to the camp, it was being siphoned and collected by something. Saved for later use, something that the Void Prince himself couldn't have imagined.

And in response to his threatening presence, Cedric and the Chancellors appeared to neutralize it.

Chancellor Igor was already in his True Dragon form. The ancient titan Flint was already looming over the entire camp in his cosmic giant form. The Primal Beast Chancellor bared his fangs, the Holy Spirit Chancellor and the Divine Celestial Chancellor were ready at a moment's notice, and Silas had already called out to the World Tree, prepared to contain the Void Prince here.

Cedric was the only one who still appeared casual and unprepared, though his sword was already out, and its edge was gleaming dangerously.

The Void Prince scowled at them. More specifically, at their stench...

Just as living creatures couldn't stand the presence and stench of the Void, Void Creatures also couldn't stand the stench and noise of the Primordial Chaos, which was even more pronounced to those who reached the Primordial Realm.

Seeing their prince outnumbered, the few remaining royal guards who were still alive tried their best to claw out of their prisons. But they've been weakened and driven desperate by the Paragons, so they don't have the strength to break free anymore. Therefore, they could only lament and cry out to their prince.

But their prince couldn't care less about them. His personal vendetta and mission were far more important to him than their lives.

Because in his mind, so long as he completes his mission...so long as he gets rid of the Primordial Chaos and returns everything to the Eternal Silence, his creator will surely welcome him back with open arms and sing praises about him.

So what if his most loyal subjects all die here? Isn't that what they're made for? It's their duty to lay down their lives for his use. Whether they can be reformed later or not doesn't really matter because as long as the Void Prince succeeds, his creator could just make more of them later, right?

So why should he care so much about them? They're replaceable as far as he's concerned.

With distractions falling into his deafened ears, the Void Prince sneered. Pitch-black wings, ones that were so dark even darkness had to make way for them, unfolded behind him.

The Void Prince's claws became larger, and with cold and relentless fury, he screeched and swiped at everything in front of him.

There were no prior warnings, no trash talking, no monologues...he went straight into action. Fortunately, Cedric and the Chancellors were prepared for that.

Raising his own claws, the Wise Dragon Chancellor roared and met the attack. He used just enough force to not only neutralize the attack but also minimize its aftermath to the surroundings.

Meanwhile, Silas and the Holy Spirit Chancellor worked in tandem to repair the fragments of reality that broke because of that clash.

Just from this single clash alone, it was clear that this fight will be on another level, one that others can't easily participate in.
