Chapter 166: Rout
"Boom!!"
After sending Pantherlily flying, Su Yan quickly got up, ready to continue his assault. But he soon noticed several others rushing in from the side.
"You jerks—tell me where you took our guild!" Natsu roared, grabbing a Kingdom Army soldier by the collar.
While Su Yan tore apart the main Edolas forces, Natsu and the others planned to use the distraction to rescue their friends who had been turned into a magic crystal—maybe even capture the King of Edolas himself.
Pantherlily spotted Natsu and the others. "Are you from the Fairy Tail of Earthland?"
"Captain Lily!"
"Awesome, Captain Pantherlily is here!"
The Kingdom soldiers looked upon Pantherlily as if he were their savior.
"Why are you two— Exceed —mixed up with Fairy Tail?!" Pantherlily demanded of Happy and Carla.
"'Exceed?"
Natsu and his group were confused by the term.
"I'll make you tell us where everyone is," Natsu snarled, advancing on Pantherlily.
"Hey!" Before he could strike, something knocked Natsu aside.
"Gajeel!" Natsu yelled angrily. "Why'd you do that?!"
"This guy's mine," Gajeel said, glaring at Pantherlily with a glint in his eyes. "You go fight someone else."
"What for?!" Natsu snapped, upset that Gajeel had stolen his opponent—one who actually looked strong.
"I want him," Gajeel replied, "to be my cat."
…
Su Yan emerged from the rubble of a collapsed wall, brushing dust off his clothes.
"How is this possible?!"
"Is this monster immortal?!"
"He's unscathed even after that attack?!"
King Faust stood atop a palace rampart, watching the carnage unfold. "Prepare Dorma Anim immediately!"
A nearby soldier froze in shock. "But…that's prohibited by the twenty-third royal decree, Your Majesty…"
"Ready it!!" Faust snarled.
"Yes…yes, sir!" The soldier hurried off to make preparations.
Faust hadn't expected that absorbing Fairy Tail's city would bring such a troublesome foe to his doorstep. If Erza and the others lost, then he himself would step in to dispose of this threat.
Meanwhile, Erza Knightwalker regarded Su Yan with a grave expression. She'd attacked mercilessly—yet he showed no signs of injury. Was he even human, or just a monster wearing human skin?
Su Yan glanced at her. "Even if you're from another world, Erza is Erza. Your strength shouldn't be underestimated."
"Are you looking down on me?" Knightwalker snapped. She had landed direct hits on him, and yet he was unhurt. She felt she was being ridiculed.
"Looking down on you? No. I'm simply telling the truth. There aren't many people who can make me take notice."
"That's exactly what I call looking down on me!"
"Light Particle Cannon!!"
Erza Knightwalker's spear morphed into a kind of cannon muzzle, firing a beam of energy at Su Yan. He brought his right index and middle fingers together, compressing his conqueror's haki into a sword-like form before slashing at the energy blast.
"Boom—-!!"
An explosive roar tore through the air as the two attacks collided. Haki flared outward, dispersing the resulting smoke, revealing Su Yan once again—completely unharmed.
"A monster…" Knightwalker whispered, pupils constricting.
"You flatter me," Su Yan said dryly. "That's enough talk."
He stepped forward, instantly closing the gap, and drove his palm toward her. Knightwalker's eyes widened; she hadn't expected his speed to be this overwhelming. She barely had time to raise her spear in defense.
"Smack!"
A tremendous force jolted through the Ten Commandments Spear, sending Erza Knightwalker flying with a scream. Su Yan dashed after her.
"Burst Gun!"
Her spear shifted forms again and blasted an explosion directly into Su Yan's face. The flames and shockwave surged, tearing some of his clothing but leaving his body unmarked.
His conqueror's haki flared, shaping itself into a massive hand.
"Gravity Gun!!"
Knightwalker hastily switched her weapon yet again, forming a large black sphere of intense gravitational pull. It collided with the huge haki hand.
"Boom—-!!!"
Black-and-red lightning crackled in midair as the two forces clashed in a destructive shockwave, demolishing the surrounding buildings. A crack snaked across the gravity sphere—and then it erupted.
"Gaaaah!!"
Erza Knightwalker was hurled away by the explosion, slamming through a nearby wall and leaving a gaping hole behind her.
"Om—-!!"
Su Yan raised his hand, conqueror's haki swirling around him. It compressed into the shape of a blade. Then he pointed at Erza Knightwalker, launching a fusillade of sword-like projectiles made of condensed haki.
Her face went pale. There was no time to flee. She raised her spear to defend, but Su Yan's barrage was far too overwhelming. In an instant, the torrent of sword blasts engulfed her.
"Rumble—!"
"Aaaarghhh!!" Knightwalker's scream echoed above the tremendous crashes of destruction.
