Forever yours(The love we keep)

Chapter 4: Chapter 2: Memories and doubts

Charlotte Lee sat at her desk, staring blankly at her computer screen. She was supposed to be working on her latest writing project, but her mind kept drifting back to the reunion invitation she'd received earlier that week.

Ten years. It was hard to believe it had been that long since she'd graduated from high school. Charlotte thought about all the things she'd accomplished since then – college, a career, traveling the world – but somehow, none of it seemed quite as important as the memories she'd made with her friends back home.

Especially Ethan.

Charlotte's heart skipped a beat as she thought about him. They'd been inseparable in high school, sharing every secret, dream, and fear with each other. But after graduation, they'd drifted apart, each pursuing their own paths in life.

She wondered what Ethan was up to now. Had he found success and happiness? Was he married, with kids?

Charlotte's phone buzzed, breaking the spell. It was her best friend, Rachel.

"Hey, girl!" Rachel chirped. "Have you seen the reunion invite?"

Charlotte rolled her eyes good-naturedly. "Yeah, I got it. I'm still deciding whether to go."

Rachel's voice turned serious. "You have to go, Charlie. It'll be fun, I promise. And who knows, maybe you'll reconnect with some old friends."

Charlotte hesitated, unsure if she was ready to face her past. But Rachel's enthusiasm was infectious, and eventually she found herself agreeing to attend.

As she hung up the phone, Charlotte felt a mix of emotions swirling inside her. Excitement, nervousness, and a hint of doubt all battled for dominance.

What would Ethan think when he saw her again? Would he even remember her?

Charlotte pushed the thoughts aside and focused on the task at hand – preparing herself for the reunion, and whatever memories and surprises lay ahead.
