Genshin Impact : Transmigrated as Liyue's Yin-Yang Archon

Chapter 16: Chapter 16: The Fatui Harbinger – Childe

At this moment, Lumine and Paimon were surrounded by the Millelith soldiers.

Just as Lumine was about to draw her Nameless Sword and fight her way out, a strange male voice suddenly rang out from beside her.

"Miss! Stay still!"

A shadowy figure dashed forward.

In an instant, his bow transformed into two sharp blades, crackling with powerful Hydro energy.

With swift and precise movements, he took down several Millelith soldiers in the blink of an eye.

Only then did Lumine get a clear look at the newcomer.

He wore a scarf around his neck, and his elegant, high-class outfit made it obvious that this man was wealthy.

"Follow them! Hurry!"

"They're over here, don't let them escape!"

Still stunned, Lumine couldn't react immediately.

The man glanced back at her and motioned.

"Come with me."

Lumine exchanged glances with Paimon.

Without hesitation, they followed after him.

They ran and ran until finally, they managed to shake off the pursuing Millelith.

An Exhausted Paimon

"Huff... Huff... That was exhausting."

Paimon hovered in the air, panting heavily.

Lumine gave her a deadpan look.

"You're literally flying. Which muscle are you even using?"

Paimon glared at her, arms crossed.

"You're heartless! My imaginary limbs are sore!"

Suddenly, Paimon turned toward their savior, her face full of curiosity.

"Oh right! Hey mister, who are you anyway?"

The man smiled and casually replied.

"You can call me 'Childe.'"

Paimon immediately put her hands on her hips.

"Wow, what a terrible personality! You save us once and already act like our master?"

Meanwhile, far away in Snezhnaya, another Fatui Harbinger the "Knave" suddenly sneezed.

"Huh? Is the weather getting colder?"

Lumine also folded her arms, staring at Childe suspiciously.

Childe chuckled and waved his hand dismissively.

"Hahaha, that's not what I meant."

"Names are just codenames."

"For example, you must have met 'La Signora' in Mondstadt, right?"

Paimon's eyes widened in realization.

"You're a Fatui Harbinger?!"

She immediately clutched her chest in shock.

Meanwhile, Lumine stepped protectively in front of Paimon, her eyes filled with wariness.

"Ah, no need to be so tense."

"Let me guess. La Signora left a bad impression on you, didn't she?"

Childe sighed.

"Ugh… that woman… I don't like her either."

"Alright, let's all just forget what that woman did for now! I'm here to help you."

Childe looked at Lumine and Paimon enthusiastically.

Lumine, however, waved him off with a look of disgust.

"Shoo, shoo! We don't need help from the Fatui."

Childe awkwardly scratched his head, his gaze shifting slightly.

"Hey, come on now. I'm still a Harbinger, at least give me some face."

"I'm not a bad guy… Well, okay, maybe I am a bad guy, but I'm not here to cause trouble for you."

After a long-winded explanation from Childe, Lumine reluctantly decided to trust him for now.

Childe led Lumine to the Northland Bank and handed her a talisman.

"To put it simply, this is a token. Something that will prevent the 'Three-Eyed Five Manifestations Adepti' from attacking you."

He held up the talisman while speaking to Lumine.

"You said Adepti?"

Paimon stared at him, eyes wide with surprise.

Childe nodded.

"If you head north out of the city, west of the Guili Plains, you'll find a stone forest Jueyun Karst."

"The people of Liyue believe it to be the dwelling place of the Adepti."

Lumine frowned slightly.

"They believe? So they're not sure?"

Childe glanced at her and explained.

"Exactly. They believe in the legends, so they only worship the Adepti from the outskirts of Jueyun Karst. They don't dare venture deeper."

"But I don't need to believe because I know the Adepti are real."

He paused for a moment before continuing.

"I also know that the Adeptus you're looking for resides there."

"However, I heard that the 'Yin-Yang Immortal' had their physical body stolen while it was still in slumber."

"In any case, if there's anyone left in Liyue who can help you now it would be the Three-Eyed Five Manifestations Adepti of Jueyun Karst."

Meanwhile, at Jueyun Karst

True Adepti Moon Carver, Mountain Shaper, and Cloud Retainer had returned to Jueyun Karst after searching for their missing fellow Adeptus to no avail.

They had searched all of Liyue, using their Adeptal powers to scour the land.

But they found nothing.

With no other choice, they returned to their home.

At that moment, Qiu Bai was wandering somewhere in Jueyun Karst.

Every Hilichurl and Slime he encountered along the way was mercilessly dealt with.

He was searching for something.

That's right, treasure chests.

Who would have thought that the mighty Yin-Yang Immortal of Liyue had no Mora at all?!

"My entire reputation was almost ruined."

After five hundred years of not using money, he had long lost any concept of wealth.

Just yesterday, when he went to eat at Xinyue Kiosk, he froze at the moment he had to pay the bill.

Thankfully, the Director had been there.

"Qiu Bai! Don't end up like that guy, Zhongli!"

"I won't allow you to turn into a bad person, figure out a way to make Mora! And no crimes allowed!"

Even now, Qiu Bai could still remember Hu Tao yelling right next to his ear.

Sigh… I'm not good at business, so treasure chests are my only option for survival…

From yesterday until now, he had already collected over 100,000 Mora.

Meanwhile, elsewhere

Lumine: "So that's why treasure chests have been getting rarer."

Qiu Bai sighed as he fought off Hilichurls, all while gathering rare medicinal herbs along the way.

"Why didn't I think of this before? With my Yang energy, I could just open a clinic."

"I've already come this far. I'll talk to the Director about it when I get back."

But just as the idea settled in, Qiu Bai realized something felt off.

"If I open a clinic wouldn't that steal business from Hu Tao?"

Forget it. I'll deal with that later.

As Qiu Bai was stressing over Mora, a voice suddenly called out from behind him.

"Qiu Bai!"

Paimon waved excitedly as she and Lumine spotted him walking ahead.

Hearing his name, Qiu Bai turned around, surprised to see them.

"Well, well… I never expected to run into you two here my friends."

Qiu Bai smiled, facing Lumine and Paimon.

Truthfully, he did not expect to see them here of all places.

"So the story has already reached the part where they search for the Adepti?"

Lumine looked at him with curiosity.

"Qiu Bai, what are you doing here?"

"Aren't you afraid to be wandering around alone?"

Paimon puffed out her chest proudly.

"We can protect you! The Traveler is super strong!"

Qiu Bai couldn't help but laugh at her confident expression.

He reached out and patted Paimon's head.

"Don't worry, little Paimon. I'll be fine."

"I'm pretty strong too, you know."

Paimon quickly dodged away from his hand, a little flustered.

For some reason, this guy always gave her a weird sense of familiarity.

"No head pats! Not allowed!"

"I've decided to give you an awful nickname!"

"...I just can't think of one yet. But when I do, you'll regret it!"

Lumine covered her mouth, laughing quietly at their exchange.

"Hmph! Traveler, you're laughing too? No laughing allowed!"

With lighthearted chatter, the group made their way deeper into Jueyun Karst.

Along the way, Qiu Bai collected every herb he could find, stuffing them into his bag without hesitation.

Lumine and Paimon watched him with confusion.

Finally, Qiu Bai cleared his throat awkwardly.

"Ahem. Didn't you guys ask why I'm here?"

"Well… I ran out of Mora recently, so I figured I'd gather some herbs to sell."
