Global Awakening: Apocalypse Ender's Chronicle

Chapter 528: The Blueprint

The force of the blast staggered the creature, exposing a glowing, molten core beneath its chest plate… There was no need for explanation as that must be the target they had to destroy!

"Now! Aim for the core!" Tundra yelled.

Seraph was the first to react, hurling her short sword directly at the exposed core.

Bang!

The short sword that was filled with her aura pierced the zombie's molten center, causing it to let out a metallic screech…

This screech was once again more terrifying than the Siren Zombies and they had to endure for a while… Thankfully, another dagger was thrown to its head and it was Tundra's dagger with a planted bomb!

As soon as it struck the Zombie's mouth, Tundra detonated the bomb!

Boom!

It may have destroyed his own dagger but he wanted to see how effective it was before using it against a Zombie Lord.

Nonetheless, with that move, the Steel King Zombie finally collapsed into a pile of smoking, twisted metal.

[ You have eliminated a Steel King Zombie. ]

"One down!" Seraph declared triumphantly as she retrieved her short sword.

The second Steel King Zombie was still being held off by others and was also heavily injured at this point.

Tundra also noticed that Atlas and the others were already recovering after using their Healing Tokens. Obviously, they were also heavily injured by the Steel King Zombie but because of their resources, they were able to endure for long.

It seemed that it also noticed that it was finally alone, so the Steel King Zombie roared and it moved faster!

As it attacks the knights, its punches or kicks would leave craters in the ground!

"Atlas, Alaric, keep it occupied!" Tundra ordered, already preparing his next move.

Atlas engaged the creature head-on, using his hammer to parry its strikes.

Bang! Bang!

This Super Soldier truly deserved his reputation as his strength could actually equal the Steel King Zombie!

Each collision sent shockwaves through the air, but Atlas was strong enough to endure it! His enhanced strength plus his Abyssal Armor Set absorbed the brunt of the impacts.

"But… This is really sturdy…" Atlas commented as this Zombie was certainly a lot more durable than the previous King Zombie.

Alaric moved silently around the creature… He wanted to find the Zombie's weakness without relying on Tundra's bombs.

Soon, his sword slashed at its legs to slow its movements.

"It's like hacking at a tank!" he grunted as he barely scraped a part of its steel skin.

Nonetheless, Tundra took advantage of the distraction, activating Phantasm Rush Token to close the distance in a swift motion. He then leaped onto the Steel King Zombie's back and planted six Abyssal Bombs along its spine.

"Get clear!" Tundra shouted as he somersaulted off the creature.

He was actually getting used to this kind of movement.

Soon, the team exhausted the Steel King Zombie by throwing various Aura Attacks and retreated as Tundra detonated the bombs.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The resulting explosion was even more devastating than the previous one. Because it was already weakened, the Steel King Zombie's upper body was blown apart as molten metal and sparks rained down on them.

It didn't take long before they completely killed this Zombie.

[ You have eliminated a Steel King Zombie. ]

"Second one down!" Atlas shouted as he slammed his hammer into the ground in victory.

It was such a tough battle!

As the smoke cleared, the team regrouped, their breathing was heavy but their morale was at its peak. Killing two King Zombies was definitely a huge boost to their confidence.

"Not bad, Tundra… Those bombs of yours are stronger than I expected." Seraph said, offering him a nod of approval.

"Ahh! That's right… Those bombs of yours are terrifying. Can you adjust them at your will?" Alaric added as he sheathed his swords.

Tundra smirked. "It's what I do. I made my bombs stronger with more Spirit Points so I have to recover them quickly."

As he said this, he took out one large Spirit Stone to recover his Spirit Points.

Unfortunately, he only has 1,450 Max Spirit Points. Within the battle just now, he had already spent 1020 Spirit Points.

Because of that, he felt that he'd really need a lot of Spirit Recovery Points in his battle against the Zombie Lord.

Chaloem then reminded everyone to get their wounds treated. "We cannot afford to be reckless. Sir Tundra, you can also go ahead and loot the Zombie."

"Right… But I'm not really lucky on this." Tundra said, glancing at the smoldering remains of the Steel King Zombies.

"The drop rate would be lower for us, recruits…" Seraph replied, which certainly made sense.

In the end, Tundra had no other choice but to loot the two Steel King Zombies, hoping that he would finally get some decent items.

In any case, the low-tier and mid-tier Zombies they previously killed were all looted by the Knights.

'Give me something good, please.' Tundra prayed in his mind.

[ You have earned 100 Experience Points. ]

[ You have earned 2 Reputation Points. ]

[ Loots obtained: Item Upgrade Crystal x1, Zombie Core x2, Steel Core x1, 200mL Water, 100mL Earth King Zombie Blood, Steel King's Gauntlets x1, Steel King's Greaves x1 ] Experience more on My Virtual Library Empire

"Ohhh… This is not bad…" Tundra's eyes lit up after seeing the looted items.

The Steel Core seemed to be an important crafting material. Also, he may not have obtained any Steel King Skill Scroll, he actually looted two items! Gauntlets and Greaves!

They weren't upgraded yet but the Gauntlets could already grant an increase in melee attack power by 20%!

On the other hand, the Greaves enhances impact absorption and movement stability. It was certainly a good item for any type of terrain. They were just Rare Items but he that once it was upgraded, these things would become more valuable as they would also obtain skills at that time.

With such a good loot, Tundra hoped that the second one would also give him a surprise.

[ Do you want to retrieve the loot? ]

"Yes." Tundra answered without hesitation.

[ You have earned 100 Experience Points. ]

[ You have earned 2 Reputation Points. ]

[ Loots obtained: Item Upgrade Crystal x1, Steel Core x1, 50mL Earth King Zombie Blood, Blueprint: Steel King Battleframe x1 ]

"What?" Tundra was disappointed at first after seeing that the notification was so short. There was no Zombie Cores or even water after all.

However, as soon as he saw the Blueprint, he knew that it was something extremely important!

"Battleframe… Sounds cool… What is this thing?" Tundra muttered as he checked the description in the inventory.

"Whoa~" His eyes lit up after realizing that it was a very rare blueprint detailing how to construct a heavily armored battle Exosuit using 2 Steel Cores!

Tundra then quickly checked the Marketplace to see if this item was quite common. After all, he knew that his hands weren't that lucky when it came to looting.

In normal cases, he would let Jillian and the others loot special Zombies that might drop precious items.

"Steel King Battleframe… It's not here…" Tundra muttered as he couldn't find any Blueprints related to Battleframes at all. There were blueprints for various buildings and even weapons but not for an Exosuit at all.

He knew that he really hit the jackpot this time!

"Clan Leader Shane will be happy for this... Should I at least ask for more Skill Potions?" He muttered.

Of course, he knew for a fact that he had no ability to craft this. With that in mind, he planned to give it to their Clan Leader, including the Steel Cores. After all, he received plenty of support for this Zombie Lord Raid… Those Tokens, Talismans, Spirit Stones, and even Skill Potions that Shane had provided would be impossible to obtain if he was not a part of the Eclipse Revenant Clan.

For now, however, he planned to take some rest as he had to refill his Spirit Points…

[ You are about to enter the Lord-Tier Zombie's Land. Failure to eliminate the Lord-Tier Zombie will release the Zombie's restraint and it will be able to escape its restriction from then on. ]

This was the message that appeared before them.

The Zombie Lord this time was actually not inside a chamber but just slumbering at the center of the plaza.

This Lord-Tier Zombie also had a humanoid figure but it was bound by thick, black chains.

"It's completely different…" Tundra muttered as the Lord-Tier Zombies that he had seen and read in the Chat weren't in such a situation at all. This one seemed to be more terrifying for that reason.

Nonetheless, seeing that the chains anchored the monster to the ground, they knew that it was definitely their target and they might even be able to kill it by bombarding it...

"This is a good battlefield though…" Seraph commented as she looked around. After all, it would be better to fight in an open space in her opinion.
