Chapter 108: Return
Well, now he should say that no one except the two of them.
They should know everything that castle and its mysteries have to offer, but he didn't want to ask them. The adventures that young people have and their mysteries must be solved by them.
Now, there was one thing he had to be sure of: that these two kids had done something that was presumed impossible. What's more, they had climbed up to the 20th floor.
Although Laura can climb up to the 21st floor, it has taken her quite some time to reach it.
This was a great feat. Reaching the 20th floor on their first try showed not only talent but also current strength.
'With that strength, they're ready to participate in the Tournament,' he thought. He smiled.
"You've had some good adventures this week, congratulations. This world should be like this. Full of adventures and mysteries to solve."
"With everything you've been through recently, is there anything new you've learned?" he asked.
Louis nodded. "For my part, I feel that I used to underestimate the Perception stat greatly. I've seen how important it is these days," he said, the only one of the two to speak.
Hardrial nodded.
"For us Armamentalists, Perception is possibly the second most important stat. It increases our ability to understand a Rune, so it's important to always invest in it."
"When we make a Rune, we use Intention; that Intention comes from the Power of the Mind," he said and sat down to explain.
"We must differentiate between Magical Power and Mind Power a little. Although they are almost the same, which is why Intelligence is so important to us, Perception increases the ability to feel emotions and changes in the environment, mentally. You can perceive things that you couldn't before. That is called Mind Power. That is why both statistics must always go hand in hand."
Louis agreed. He had come to that conclusion, although he was unaware of the Power of the Mind. Now that he knew, he was even more convinced of its importance.
Perhaps that is why he can understand things more easily than others. His innate Perception was too high, currently being the highest of his stats.
Maybe he should raise it a little more, taking advantage of the few statistics available. Not only does it increase his mental capacity, but it can also save him from certain death in the future.
After the three of them chatted longer and told Hardrial about their experiences, he dismissed them. They were exhausted, and going to rest was a good idea after a week-long adventure.
Louis took the opportunity to leave, as he was a little worried about Jessy and what was happening in the South. He had seen some of the headlines in that newspaper and thought that some things might have something to do with him.
When he left, Hardrial approached Laura.
"You could have kept going, right?" he asked.
She smiled. "We returned just because he says he has important things to do. I heard he has some businesses to take care of, maybe part of the family business," she said. "After all, he has a pretty big last name."
Hardrial nodded thoughtfully.
'A Habsburg, huh. Heh, I think that's fake. I'm more inclined to believe he's a Lockward because of his amazing talent.' he thought. But it wasn't something he would reveal.
Getting into trouble with that family was the last thing he could do if he wanted to stay alive.
"How strong is he compared to you?" he asked.
She didn't answer immediately.
She could tell what that vampire had said. Someone with more than 100 points in one or more of his stats.
But that would be revealing secrets, so she didn't say it.
"He's stronger than me, but I don't think by much," she replied.
Hardrial looked at her sideways for several seconds and nodded.
"Immense strength for his age," he said. "I'm afraid he'll cause quite a shock when he appears in the Tournament."
"Haha... even now he's wreaking havoc among the students."
--
Upon leaving the Academy, Louis walked slowly to his mansion because he was raising his stats.
In his stats window, level 35 greeted him, and he still had 40 stat points available.
After thinking for several minutes, he immediately raised his stats as he thought would be right.
[Louis Lockward's Status Window]
| Race: Human son of God [Level 35]
| Class: God of Money [SSS]
| Occupation: Armamentalist [First Sequence: Armsman Novice, Rank D]
-
[Stats]
HP: 2,460/2,460.
Mana: 493/493.
| Strength: 123.
| Vitality: 123.
| Agility: 100.
| Intelligence: 145.
| Perception: 140.
'I think that's pretty good,' he thought.
He had only touched his agility, intelligence, and perception, as he considered his strength and vitality high enough not to worry about them.
At least for now.
He was satisfied and confident after ending up with 0 points and finally having all his stats above 100 points.
'When I climb the tower again, I'll try to reach the 30th floor. If I can reach Level 50 simultaneously, the reward will be great.' He smiled.
He dreamed of having some of his stats in the 200s without reaching Level 100.
'Oh, right.' He remembered something.
He no longer had any 10x upgrades available.
It was the perfect time to...
Start creating missions in bulk for everything he wanted to do during the day.
And of course...
[Ding]
[New Mission]
| Return to your mansion.
| You've been away from your mansion for quite some time, and Jessy is worried about you. Go back and keep her company; it seems she has some surprises for you.
| Reward: 5 System Coins.
[Coins accumulate to give you your stat reward. Your reward will arrive as soon as you collect the required amount.]
He smiled and decided to create another one immediately.
[Ding]
[New Mission]
| The Southern Industrial District is preparing for major changes, much to the delight of the North. As the current ruler of this region, take another look at them.
| Reward: 10 System Coins.
[The coins accumulate to give you your stat reward. Your reward will arrive as soon as you collect the required amount.]
He smiled even more.
'The key is that I just need to return, and it will be complete. So that's how missions work. From now on, I should focus on big missions with simple resolutions.'
He didn't hesitate any longer and started walking towards his mansion.
