Chapter 109: A great talent for design
Upon returning, he noticed several changes in his mansion.
The garden was no longer overgrown with weeds; instead, it was filled with flowers.
But there was something even more astonishing. The entire layout had changed. Those flowers weren't just randomly scattered about; they were neatly planted to create a feeling of indescribable beauty.
They were just beginning to bloom, so it was difficult to say what they would look like in their final phase, but even so, they managed to convey a sense of beauty or flashes of magical grandeur.
An indescribable aura emanated from each flower and blended with the atmosphere, creating a mystical feeling in this old mansion. The aura matched the intrinsic beauty of the colorful walls.
A huge fountain now stood in the middle of the hallway, its water seeming to water the surrounding plants and flowers, while magical fish played inside it.
Louis was stunned and looked at small magical animals he had never seen before.
Some looked like rabbits but were smaller. Perhaps they were more like a cross between a rabbit and a hamster. They ran around among the flowers, playing and relaxing.
As soon as they saw him, they froze and then ran to hide, fear evident in their bodies.
Their fear spread to the nearby magical flowers, which also seemed to recoil or begin to cover them, as if they were defending each other. Or as if the magical flowers considered these little creatures part of the family.
'Amazing. Who did this? Jessy? Or was it commissioned by my uncle?' He walked slowly through the garden, looking at the beautiful design.
His courtyard was now green in a district where greenery had long been forgotten.
Even the door had been painted with special paints and was now pure white. There wasn't a single gray spot on it.
He immediately opened the door, then stood there stunned.
The interior... had also changed.
The characteristic colors were now predominantly blue and gold for the more specialized designs, both of which were adorned with a red characteristic of the nobility on this side of the map.
Large sofas adorned the room, while the tiles were properly polished, giving a feeling of brilliance.
It was no longer as glamorous as before. It was neither minimalist nor maximalist. It was a perfect blend of the two, seeming to take the best of both extremes and combine them into one.
Everything matched, even the large curtains with the sofas, the table, and the floor with the decorations on the walls.
It looked incredible.
As he passed by, someone was coming down the stairs.
Jessy.
She was stunned momentarily, but soon smiled broadly when she saw him.
"Lord Louis!" She ran toward him to give him a proper welcome.
She was still wearing black-and-white clothes, but now they no longer looked like a maid's uniform. They looked very elegant, and their design was slightly peculiar.
If he had to say anything, it was that it reminded him of the design he was seeing at the mansion.
It had maximalist flashes that were slightly overshadowed by minimalism and at the same time, entered into a special extreme of elegance.
'I've never seen such an eccentric design here,' he thought, and that was amazing, because he had seen all kinds of eccentric designs walking around the Upper District.
"Jessy, I'm back. I'm sorry for leaving you with all the work these days," he said.
Looking around, he said: "This is..."
She smiled and immediately invited him in.
"Lord Louis, I used some of the money you gave me, to remodel your mansion. I still have a few things left to do because it's so big, but what do you think? Do you like it?" she asked happily as she served him coffee and sat him on the sofa.
Louis nodded. "I like it very much." He was sincere. "But who did the design? The exterior looks beautiful, too."
She served him hot coffee and stood beside him.
"I did it, Lord Louis." She replied proudly after hearing that he liked it.
But that was amazing.
"You?"
She immediately took out some blueprints to show him.
"This is what I planned. It didn't turn out perfectly, but I think it did well. I feel like I lack experience."
Looking at the blueprint, what she planned to do was quite amazing. The beautiful design would transform this place into a small castle.
It wasn't very different from the design that now adorned the mansion. In fact, the original design on paper didn't seem realistic, at least not to him.
'Even the design he created in reality is still slightly unrealistic. In one week, she changed too many things and gave this place a perfect touch of elegance. It looks like a beautiful house belonging to a billionaire nobleman,' he thought.
He imagined that the interior designs of the Three Castles would be something like this.
"This..." He smiled somewhat embarrassedly and looked at her. "I didn't know you were a professional in a mansion's interior and exterior design."
She blinked a couple of times and smiled shyly shortly after. She lowered her head before answering.
"I'm not very good at it, but I love designing." She showed him the clothes she was wearing. "See? I designed these clothes myself quite some time ago. I had them made the day after you left. I have several outfits," she said gracefully, turning around to show him.
Although her beauty did not stand out for the uniqueness of her features, as Laura's did, nor for the eccentricity of her clothes, as Rebecca Priestley's did, much less for the elegance of Miss Evergreen, whom she had met that night at the restaurant, it did stand out for her tenderness and her light-colored eyes.
And this outfit, even though its "black and white" colors did not enhance that beauty, the design itself was striking enough to enhance that kind of tenderness and feminine beauty.
Although she had learned on the streets not to be a tender and reserved woman, she still retained that feminine touch given to her by her beautiful light eyes, which made her stand out.
If Louis had to improve anything about this outfit, it would be her choice of colors.
Black and white are not colors that characterize her, but if he thought about it carefully, this in itself could be one of her characteristics.
An important talent in the design or fashion industry, whose taste in colors was slightly eccentric and surpassed her designs.
