Harry Potter: Becoming a Study God

Chapter 349: Time Reversal: Three Hours!

"Dumbledore," Madam Pomfrey suddenly said, "I might have a way to restore him to human form, but I'll need your help."

"Very well," Dumbledore replied as he pocketed the crystal vial and walked over.

Fawkes landed on Professor Burbage's shoulder and, in an instant, vanished from the room with her.

...

In the dormitory, Wade suddenly felt a pang of unease in his sleep. He jolted awake and sat up, clutched the fabric over his chest, and felt his heart racing.

—A nightmare?

He shook his head, unable to recall what he had just dreamed.

Glancing at the time, he realized only a short while had passed since he had fallen asleep.

Wiping the cold sweat from his forehead, he got out of bed and grabbed the cup on the table, gulping down several mouthfuls of water. The ice-cold liquid carried a bitter taste of tea.

With a casual wave of his hand, he lit the oil lamp, only to realize he had picked up the wrong cup. The cold water was still on the table, while the one in his hand was a cup of black tea.

By now, he had already drunk most of the tea, leaving only a small amount of dregs and tea leaves in the cup.

Wade glanced outside. The night sky was pitch black, with only a few scattered stars twinkling.

For some reason, he still felt a lingering sense of unease.

Looking at the teacup in his hand, he suddenly had an idea. He drank the remaining tea until only a mouthful was left, swirled it three times, and then inverted the cup onto the saucer.

After a moment, he flipped the cup back over and examined the residue on the saucer, and his mind conjured corresponding images and meanings.

An octopus—a warning.

He gently rotated the saucer, observing it from different angles.

A cross—trials and suffering.

A skull—danger.

A crab—an enemy nearby.

Wade lowered his eyes, and turned the saucer once more to confirm that this wasn't just his imagination.

His eyes truly could discern something unusual from the tea leaves.

Setting the cup down, he walked to the window. After a moment of observation, he suddenly transformed into a peregrine falcon and soared into the air.

He circled the school, paying particular attention to the Forbidden Forest and the Black Lake, but found no signs of hidden enemies preparing to emerge from those areas.

Just as he was about to check the school's secret passage entrances, Wade spotted two figures emerging from the darkness.

"Such bad luck," Fred complained. "Professor Kettleburn insisted on watching us enter the school before leaving... Otherwise, I would've definitely sneaked back to eavesdrop!"

George sighed helplessly, "No helping it. He taught us for two years; he knows us too well."

"If I'd known, I would've behaved better in the Care of Magical Creatures class."

"Come on, Derrick's mouth was too foul. Could you really have held back from teaching him a lesson?"

"Haha, no way—but besides 'no helping it,' can't you say something else?"

"Alright—I can't figure out, what's the deal with that werewolf?"

"Good question, that's what I want to know too."

As soon as the two stepped into the castle, a voice suddenly chimed in beside them, "What werewolf?"

"Whoa—"

The twins jumped in fright, and turned around to find it wasn't Filch who had caught them.

"Wade?" Fred asked in surprise, "What are you doing here?"

"Saw you two coming back from outside in the middle of the night, got curious," Wade said. "You ran into Professor Kettleburn? Did he catch you and bring you back?"

The twins exchanged a glance, then pulled Wade into an empty classroom nearby and whispered mysteriously, "No—we had a really thrilling and bizarre experience tonight..."

After recounting the night's events, George sighed, "I really don't get it, why would a werewolf appear at this time? Also, I feel like Hagrid seemed to know that werewolf..."

Fred nodded, "Exactly! Too bad they all treat us like kids, not letting us hear anything, just shooing us away!"

"Because we're just students, there's not much we can do, right?" Wade waved his hand, "Better head back to sleep, you've got classes tomorrow morning."

In the empty classroom, Fred and George looked at each other.

"What's going on, isn't this strange?" Fred asked in astonishment, "He just left like that?"

George stroked his chin speculating, "He wouldn't think we're making up stories to trick him, would he? Like we're going to shout 'surprise' at the end or something..."

"Sigh... the aftermath of lying too much, even the truth isn't believed..." Fred lamented painfully.

"But he wasn't wrong about one thing," George said.

"What?"

"If we don't go back to sleep now, we're definitely going to be late for tomorrow morning's Transfiguration class!"

...

After shaking off the Weasley twins, Wade quickly made his way to a nearby bathroom stall. He estimated the time, then without hesitation, pulled out the Time-Turner and turned it three times.

Time rapidly reversed. Wade heard the ticking of clocks and the sound of what seemed like countless people whispering.

He closed his eyes.

Moments later, the dizziness faded, and the surroundings remained dimly lit.

Wade sat on the toilet lid, about to leave, when he heard a familiar voice deliberately lowered—

"What's Malfoy up to?"

Theo was peeking out from the bathroom door, secretly watching two figures at the end of the corridor.

"He's reporting to Filch,"

Ryan stood behind him, straining his ears to catch the conversation between the two:

"He said that tonight... some students aren't sleeping, wandering around the underground corridor near the Potions classroom... Filch said he'd catch the rule-breakers..."

"Since when does Malfoy care about school rules?" Theo frowned, pondering for a moment before a thought struck him: "Could he be talking about Wade?"

"Possibly."

"No, we have to find a way to warn him, not to get caught by Filch!"

The two whispered their plans as they left the bathroom.

Shortly after, Wade tapped his head with his wand, and a cool sensation washed over him. His body blended into the surroundings like a chameleon.

Wade exited the bathroom and hadn't walked far when he saw two students rushing into the castle just before curfew.

It was Percy Weasley and Penelope Clearwater.

Penelope was a Ravenclaw prefect with long, curly brown hair, intelligent and beautiful, with a pleasant personality. Many boys in the school fancied her.

Presumably, Percy wouldn't put on airs in front of Penelope as he usually did? Otherwise, Wade would find it hard to understand Penelope's taste.

He left the castle, transformed into a peregrine falcon, and soared into the sky.

Soon, the village of Hogsmeade came into view. Wade folded his wings and landed on a large tree, with his figure almost completely hidden by the broad leaves.

The falcon's gray eyes fixed on the Three Broomsticks Inn ahead. Through the semi-transparent glass, he could vaguely see two figures sitting inside, one of them exceptionally tall.

The falcon slowly scanned the surroundings, looking for anyone else who might be watching the two inside like he was.
