Chapter 15: Chapter 15: Navigating Hogwarts

After lunch, Kyle remembered that Dumbledore hadn't assigned him a dorm room.

Turning to the pile of luggage in the corner, Kyle asked, "Professor, where's my dorm?"

"I've already arranged it for you. You'll be staying with the Gryffindor students."

"Your name will be on the door. Just follow the Gryffindors tonight, and you'll find the common room."

Following Kyle's gaze, Dumbledore noticed the pile of luggage. "As for your belongings, I'll have the house-elves deliver them to your dorm later."

"Thank you, Professor," Kyle said, pulling two textbooks from the luggage. "I'll head to class now."

By the time they left the kitchen, there were only about ten minutes before the first afternoon class.

Dumbledore kindly offered to guide Kyle, but Kyle, confident he could manage, politely declined.

However, as soon as he faced the labyrinthine structure of Hogwarts castle, Kyle instantly regretted his decision.

Hogwarts had 142 staircases.

Some were wide and grand; others were narrow, rickety, and wobbled dangerously.

Some staircases changed destinations every Friday.

Others had steps that vanished halfway up, forcing you to remember where to jump.

On top of that, the staircases constantly shifted.

Sometimes, while heading to the right corridor, the staircase would redirect you to the left halfway.

There were also many doors that wouldn't open unless you asked nicely or poked the right spot.

Some doors weren't even real doors, just solid walls that looked like doors.

Without a guide, Kyle doubted he could make it to the fourth-floor Charms classroom in ten minutes.

Dumbledore stood nearby, smiling, waiting for Kyle to ask for help.

But Kyle had already boasted about managing on his own. How could he back down now?

So, Kyle abandoned the idea of taking the conventional route.

Two minutes later, Kyle stood on the castle lawn, scrutinizing the outer walls as if searching for something.

Dumbledore stood a short distance away, arms crossed, curious about Kyle's next move.

The next moment, Dumbledore's eyes nearly popped out of his head.

Kyle sprinted toward the castle wall, leapt high, and started running up the vertical surface as if it were flat ground.

To Kyle, the sheer wall was as easy to traverse as a walk in the park.

Dumbledore: ???

What kind of magic is this?

If Kyle could hear Dumbledore's thoughts, he'd say, "Basic skill, no need to freak out."

By channeling chakra—or what he thought of as magic—to the soles of his feet, Kyle could cling to surfaces, allowing him to scale trees or cliffs. Every ninja in Konoha could do this.

Climbing walls? Even the advanced technique of walking on water was within his abilities.

After realizing his magic could mimic chakra, Kyle's first training had naturally been tree-climbing and water-walking.

To Kyle, this was nothing special.

Soon, Kyle reached the fourth floor.

Climbing along the castle wall, he peered through a few windows until he spotted Professor Flitwick, the Charms teacher Dumbledore had mentioned.

Filius Flitwick was unmistakable. Strictly speaking, he wasn't fully human.

He had some goblin ancestry, which explained his… unique height.

Climbing through a window into the classroom seemed rude, and Kyle didn't want to make a spectacle on his first day at Hogwarts, so he abandoned the idea.

After climbing a bit further, Kyle jumped into an empty hallway and quickly found the Charms classroom door.

Just then, the crisp sound of the class bell rang. Kyle hurried into the classroom and took a seat in an empty spot at the back.

Professor Flitwick stood on a stack of books—so he wouldn't be hidden by the lectern—cleared his throat, and smiled at the young wizards. "Today, we'll be learning the Severing Charm."
