Harry Potter: The Hogwarts Acceptance Letter

Chapter 7: Chapter 7 King's Station

Before the sun rose, Light in the orphanage had already gotten up, washed up, packed his things, put on his small bag, and was ready to set off for Diagon Alley.

Light took the bus and then the subway, and passed through The Leaky Cauldron.

With the tap of his wand, an archway leading to Diagon Alley took shape in front of Light.

Light, who was visiting Diagon Alley for the second time, wasn't as shocked as he was on his first visit, but he was still excited.

Walking and looking around along the way, he soon arrived at his destination, Gringotts.

"Hello, I want to exchange for Galleons."

Without Hagrid's help, Light used the Levitation Charm to get himself onto a stool almost as tall as himself, and then said to the goblin behind the counter.

The goblin squinted. "Do you have any ID? Without it, we can't do the exchange."

Light's heart skipped a beat. In the original story, it only mentioned that pounds could be exchanged for Galleons. He didn't expect such a requirement.

Then he calmed down and retorted, "Can the loan agreement I signed earlier be used as proof?"

"Yes, as long as it can prove your identity."

Hearing this, Light took out the loan agreement he had prepared to repay the loan and handed it to the goblin.

Then he asked, "So what's the exchange rate for Galleons now?"

"Nine pounds for one Galleon," the goblin said while looking at the loan agreement.

Light counted out nine hundred pounds and handed it to the goblin, whispering, "And pay off the loan by the way."

The goblin didn't say much and quickly completed the business process. He gave Light a bag of Galleons and a repayment certificate.

After leaving Gringotts, Light tossed the money bag in his hand and showed a smile listening to the crisp sound.

Hogwarts provides board and lodging, so there's basically no need to spend money. The money for next year's textbooks should also be enough.

After hiding the money bag securely, Light left Diagon Alley directly, for fear that the Galleons he had finally exchanged would be spent again.

Light, who walked out of The Leaky Cauldron, took the remaining more than a hundred pounds and headed to the next destination, the "supermarket".

Daily necessities like suitcases, quills, ink, paper, etc. These items are much cheaper to buy in the Muggle world here, and it's also easier to get change.

Who knows how they calculated the exchange rate of 1 Galleon = 17 Sickles = 493 Knuts for these wizards.

It was already evening when he got back to the orphanage after buying things. Light, who had washed up and packed his things, lay in bed. But his spirit sank into his mind.

Looking at the towering stone stele, information appeared in front of his eyes.

Light Rogers (Zhou Yang)

Mileage Points: 7

Magic Power: 1 (The value for an ordinary adult wizard is 5)

Spells: White Magic: 1 Transfiguration: 0

Skills: Potions: 0 Care of Magical Creatures: 0

Milestones: … (omitted)

Light looked at the information in front of him. He wasn't impulsive about adding the points; rather, he wanted to know more about the situation before doing so.

After all, the most lethal Dark Magic hadn't emerged yet. He figured he had to find a book that specifically depicted Dark Magic and read it.

Going to the Hogwarts library, he could easily obtain one. There's no need to worry about this at all.

After pondering for a long while, Light snapped back to reality. He was looking forward to the arrival of tomorrow, September 1st.

Early the next morning, Mrs. Cott watched as Light pulled his suitcase and bid farewell to her. There were tears glistening in her eyes, and her heart was a mixture of joy and sorrow.

The joy was that the child had his own direction and belonging, while the sorrow was the departure of the child.

Once she used to worry about Light's future, but now he was going to school, going to embrace his own future.

"Dear Light, study hard. Don't worry about here. Everything is fine," Mrs. Cott said with a kind smile.

Light bowed to Mrs. Cott to show his gratitude to her.

Mrs. Cott nodded gently and said, "Go quickly! Don't be late."

Light pulled his suitcase, waved to Mrs. Cott, and then got on the bus heading to King's Station.

King's Cross Station was bustling with people, and there were also some oddly dressed people hidden among them.

Light was wearing a second-hand wizard robe. His wand was hidden against his left hand. He was dragging his suitcase with his right hand, and a backpack was placed on top of the suitcase. There was a one-way ticket in his trouser pocket.

Just then, Light noticed a thin boy not far ahead pushing a luggage cart. There was a white owl in a cage on the cart, looking around curiously.

"Hi, Harry Potter."

Harry Potter, who heard someone calling him, seemed to be startled. His body twitched.

"Are you waiting for me? You've been wandering around here," Light asked as he walked forward quickly.

"Yeah, but I'm also looking for Platform Nine and Three-Quarters. It doesn't seem to be here!" Harry Potter said a bit awkwardly.

Hearing this, Light laughed and said, "Well, that's perfect. I know where it is. Follow me." With that, Light walked ahead to lead the way.

After walking for a while, Light stopped between Platform Nine and Platform Ten. Pointing at a pillar at the junction, he said,

"That's it. Platform Nine and Three-Quarters is right behind here. Just run into it."

Harry Potter looked at the wall in astonishment, then at Light.

Seeing Harry Potter's hesitant look, Light explained,

"It's written in the Textbooks 'History of Magic'. This platform has been cast with the Muggle-Repelling Charm, the Confundus Charm, and the Impediment Jinx. It can't be seen. You have to run into it directly, or you won't be able to get through."

Seeing that Harry Potter was still hesitating, Light just ran straight into the pillar. In an instant, a whole new scene unfolded before his eyes.

The platform was rather crowded. There were adults and children in black robes everywhere. Cats were weaving through their feet, and the cries of owls and toads rang out one after another.

Beside the platform, a steam train with a black and red color scheme was parked, and the locomotive was emitting hot white steam.

There was a sign hanging at the front, reading: Hogwarts Express. On the other side of the aisle was a sign indicating Platform Nine and Three-Quarters.

After waiting for a while, Harry Potter also appeared on the platform. He scanned everything around him in surprise, and his gaze particularly lingered on the train.

Seeing that Harry Potter was still in a daze, Light walked over and patted him and said,

"Snap out of it! Hurry up and get on the train to find a place to put your luggage and a place to sit." Then he walked onto the train.

Only then did Harry Potter react. He followed Light through the crowded crowd and found an empty carriage on the train.

The combined luggage of the two was not a small amount. Only by Light using the Levitation Charm were they able to put it away easily. Otherwise, it would have been really tough.

"Light, were those Spells you just used?"

Light nodded and replied, "This is the Levitation Charm in the Textbooks. Do you want to learn it? I can teach you!"

"Really? Can you teach me?" Harry Potter said excitedly.

Light said indifferently, "No problem. The Levitation Charm is the first spell in the Textbooks. Teaching you now is just like previewing."

As he spoke, he picked up his wand, took out a packet of tissues from his left pocket, pulled one out and spread it flat on the table.

Harry Potter took out his wand and listened attentively to Light's explanation.
