Chapter 9: Chapter 9 Hermione and Neville
Harry Potter was also infected by Ron's honest attitude and began to tell Ron everything about how his aunt, uncle, and their son treated him.
Ron also grumbled, "I really don't understand why they had to leave you with Muggles. With your background, there are so many wizarding families who would be happy to adopt you."
"Woo woo woo." Just as Harry Potter and Ron were chatting heatedly, the train began to whistle and then started moving.
As the train started, buildings representing Muggle civilization flashed by in Light's eyes, and the mysterious Spells were gradually drawing closer to him.
Light leaned against the window, quietly looking at the scenery outside the train.
Harry Potter and Ron continued chatting. While Ron and Harry Potter were chatting about family matters, there came a knock on the compartment door. Then the door was opened.
When the door opened, a gentle and soft voice came:
"Would you like to buy something, kids?" The chubby female salesperson pushing a trolley full of all kinds of magical snacks said with a smile.
"Thanks, no. I brought my own," Light replied with a smile.
"Me too. I've got some," Ron said, swallowing his saliva as he looked at the food on the trolley and holding up the sandwich in his hand.
Harry Potter noticed that his new friend was greedy. So he reached into his pocket, grabbed a handful of Galleons, and said to the salesperson, "I want to buy some."
Seeing that someone wanted to buy, the salesperson asked, "Sure. What would you like? I have Chocolate Frogs, Pumpkin Pasties, cakes, Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans, Fanged Bubbly Gum... "
"I'll take them all, everything," Harry Potter said, raising his hand full of Galleons to the salesperson.
"Oh! Just a moment," the salesperson said happily. She put a big pile of snacks on the table in the compartment and took two Galleons from Harry Potter.
The compartment door was closed by the salesperson. Looking at the table filled with all kinds of strange magical snacks, Ron finally couldn't help but say, "So many. Can you finish them all?"
Harry Potter generously offered to share.
Ron looked at Harry Potter with teary eyes, as if he would do anything to repay him.
Harry Potter glanced at Ron who was happily munching away and asked Light, "Light, don't you want to eat?"
Light picked up a pasty and said, "Thanks. I don't really like sweet things very much. So this is enough for me."
Harry Potter didn't mind. Then, just like Ron, he began to taste these wonderful magical snacks.
"What is this? It can't be a real frog, right?" Ron, who was happily munching away, looked up when he heard Harry Potter's question.
Looking at the Chocolate Frog in Harry Potter's hand, he said irrelevantly, "I'm still missing one Agrippa."
Seeing Harry Potter's confused look, he continued:
"This is a Chocolate Frog. It's made of chocolate. Although it looks like a frog and can move, it's just chocolate and can be eaten."
"And there are cards given away inside each Chocolate Frog. These are all very famous wizards. I've collected almost five hundred cards. I'm still missing Agrippa and Ptolemy."
Hearing Ron say this, Harry Potter opened the package and took out the card.
The card depicted a kind old man: 'A male with an aged face, wearing a pair of half-moon glasses. Behind the glasses were a pair of bright blue eyes. Under his hooked nose, his silver beard hung down to his waist.'
At the very bottom of the card was the name written: "Albus Dumbledore". The most amazing thing was that the image on the card was moving.
Harry Potter looked at the card and thought of the person Hagrid often mentioned. Then he flipped the card in his hand and carefully read the words on the back of the card:
"Albus Dumbledore, the current headmaster of Hogwarts, is widely recognized as the greatest wizard of this era."
"Dumbledore's best-known contributions include: Defeating the Dark Wizard, Grindelwald, in 1945."
"Discovering Twelve Uses of Dragon's Blood"
"Achieving Various Results in the Alchemy Cooperation with Nicolas Flamel"
"Professor Dumbledore's hobbies include: Indoor music, tenpin bowling"
When he heard Harry Potter say Dumbledore's name, Light recalled his glorious and messy life. When he was a teenager, his father went to prison. Then, his sister accidentally killed their mother. In his youth, he had a falling out with his brother and, unfortunately, accidentally killed his sister. In his prime, he imprisoned his lover forever.
I wonder what kind of mood the greatest wizard was in when he made such a decision?
The train had left the city far behind. As the train rumbled on, the fields outside the window gradually disappeared. Then, what appeared outside the window were dark green hills and winding rivers.
Light watched quietly the changing scenery outside the window. Harry Potter and Ron were tasting magical snacks.
The door of the carriage was knocked on again. The door was pulled open, and a round-faced boy with tearful eyes appeared at the door. The boy stood at the door and asked shyly, "Hi, sorry! Excuse me, have you seen a toad?"
Hearing the boy's question, Harry Potter and Ron stopped eating, looked at each other, and shook their heads at the same time.
"We haven't seen a toad. But can you tell me what your toad's called? Maybe I can give you a hand."
Light looked at the clumsy boy in front of him and said with a kind face.
Just as the boy was about to say something, suddenly a female voice came: "Neville, where are you? I've found Trevor."
"I'm here, Hermione." Neville replied excitedly.
With a series of brisk footsteps approaching, another figure appeared at the door of the carriage.
The person had thick brown hair and a good-looking face, with a pair of front teeth in her mouth being even more prominent. Hermione handed the toad in her hand to Neville.
She greeted Light and the others very politely, and then she was about to pull Neville away.
Neville, who was checking if the toad was injured, was suddenly yanked. As a result, caught off guard, his hand trembled. Then, the toad broke free from his grasp and jumped right at Harry Potter's face.
"Ah!!!!!" Harry Potter let out a terrified scream. Neville instinctively pounced on the toad. Ron wanted to protect Harry Potter, and Hermione wanted to hold Neville back. The carriage suddenly became a chaotic mess.
"Alright, it's okay now," Light said, holding the wand in his right hand and keeping the toad floating in the air. He looked at the four people huddled together and the snacks swept to the ground with a headache.
"Here, don't lose it again."
Light looked at Neville, who had already gotten up, and said meaningfully.
Neville hugged the toad in his arms, looked at the messy train compartment, and said in a sobbing voice, "I'm sorry. I'll pay for the damages."
Hermione also stood aside, looking at a loss.
Harry Potter and Ron had never seen such a scene and didn't know how to handle it for a moment.
"It doesn't matter. We're wizards. Spells will help deal with it." After saying that, he chanted the spell Scourgify and waved his wand with his right hand. A beam of light flew from the tip of the wand to the ground.
The scattered snacks on the ground all flew back onto the table automatically and were neatly arranged.
The four people who witnessed this scene couldn't help but exclaim. "So amazing! So magical!"
