Hero or Villain, Both

Chapter 148: Legendary assassin

"You dare?" The figure that had been behind us said this, but he also didn't face this dagger coming at him head on.

Instead, he used his own dagger to deflect it before it could reach him and moved out of the way.

When he stabilized himself, he looked at the driver with narrowed eyes and asked, "Who are you?"

The driver didn't say anything as he casually raised his dagger and stood there with a confident smile on his face.

Seeing this, the boss of the auction house said, "What do you think you're doing? Why am I paying you all that money if you're just going to fool around? Take care of them."

But that assassin didn't say anything as he kept looking at the driver.

After a long silence, he finally said, "It isn't as simple as that. This person…isn't that easy to kill."

The boss of the auction house seemed surprised when he heard this, but then he said, "It isn't as if you're alone!" He turned to the people that were around the table and said, "Go and surround them!"

These people around the table looked at each other before they pulled out their weapons and stepped forward.

Only before they could actually reach us, there were a few people that stepped forward.

It was as if they had appeared out of nowhere just like the assassin that the driver faced, but that wasn't the case. It was that they had found the secret passages to these rooms and had done the same thing as the assassin.

"Where did they come from?" They were all shocked to see these people appear, but they didn't have the time to discuss this as they were met with their weapons.

The only thing that they could do was raise their weapons to face them.

While this was happening, the driver said, "Young master, I'm going to have some fun as well."

I couldn't help shaking my head with a bitter smile, but I didn't say anything to stop him since I had already agreed to him having this fun.

I just watched as the driver headed towards the assassin that had attacked us.

But during this time, one of the people that had just appeared said, "Let's see who can finish this first."

When he heard this, the driver revealed a faint smile before moving even faster.

The one that spoke was his son, the leader of the special task force.

It was naturally the special task force that had found the secret passages to this room and had been waiting for us.

Seeing the father and son have their bet, I once again couldn't help shaking my head with a bitter smile. However, I didn't stop them since the more chaos they caused, the better it would be.

Instead of paying attention to them, I turned to look at the owner of the auction hall.

He had been trembling in his seat when he saw what was happening to his men.

It wasn't that he was trembling in anger, it was that he was trembling in fear.

That was because he could see that he and his men were in a very bad position.

He knew that if he didn't do something, then things would end very poorly for him today.

"What is everyone else doing? Why are none of them coming?" The owner of the auction hall shouted at something that was on his desk when he saw that things were bad, but there was nothing that answered.

I already knew that there was this special crystal that could transfer voices on his desk, but I didn't stop him since I knew that there was nothing that they could do with it.

After a long silence that followed, the owner of the auction hall's face became even uglier when he saw his people being beaten down.

It seemed that none of them could even do a single thing against the people that I brought.

He narrowed his eyes to look at the assassin who was fighting the driver and said, "Aren't you the legendary assassin of the underground? How can you lose to an old man like this?"

The assassin just ignored him as he looked at the driver.

While panting, he suddenly said, "You're the legendary assassin Kasim, what are you doing in a place like this?"

The owner of the auction hall immediately looked stunned when he heard this.

Even if he wasn't someone in the circle of assassins, he had heard the name Kasim before.

That was because this name was just too famous.

He was a legendary assassin that had never failed once when it came to assassinations.

However, he was also an assassin that should have already retired or else this person wouldn't have called himself a legendary assassin.

"Why does that matter? Show me what you can do." The driver…Assassin King Kasim just said with a smile as he stepped towards that assassin.

But in the end, he was disappointed when he saw the assassin drop his weapons as if he didn't want to fight anymore.

When he narrowed his eyes to look at him, the assassin suddenly said, "My name is Fang and I've always admired your stories. I wish to become your disciple."

The face of the owner of the auction house became very ugly when he heard this before he slammed his fist on the table and he said, "What do you think you're doing? What about all the money that I spent to hire you?"

Fang just looked right back at him and said, "Does it matter when you're about to lose everything? There's a reason why he's a legendary assassin."

Kasim looked disappointed seeing this, but he did lower his weapon in the end before turning back to look at me.

I didn't mind this, so I just gave a simple nod.

Kasim walked over and said, "I'll tie you up for now. When it's over, we'll talk."

Fang didn't resist at all as he let Kasim do whatever he wanted.

I couldn't help shaking my head with a trace of a bitter smile, but then I turned back to look at the owner of the auction house.
