Hunter X Hunter: I Got Stronger After I Died

Chapter 115: Zibonian's Shock!

Star Mark—an ability that could be applied to any aggressive life form.

Even something as small as a mosquito was no exception.

And when the marked life form perished, the Star Mark would disappear as well, serving as a warning signal to Moro.

"Pursuers, huh..."

Moro glanced at Kurt, who was still unconscious.

This clinic charged outrageous fees but was said to have its perks.

Aside from treating only one patient at a time, its greatest selling point was its strict confidentiality.

But judging by the current situation, perhaps it wasn't as secure as advertised.

Moro moved to an adjacent room and casually picked up a scalpel from the operating table.

On the clinic's first floor...

A broad-shouldered, towering elderly woman stepped over the threshold, entering the dimly lit clinic, where only a small night lamp was on.

She was Zibonian, a senior butler of the Zoldyck family.

Accompanying her was a younger woman—her granddaughter Yuin, who was also a Zoldyck butler.

They had rushed here upon receiving news about Kurt.

Zibonian casually scanned the dimly lit lobby and was just about to speak—

Thud!

A bag suddenly tumbled down from the staircase, bouncing as it landed in the middle of the first-floor lobby.

Both Zibonian and Yuin immediately turned their attention to it.

Hiss—

A faint hissing sound came from the bag's opening, eerily clear in the silent room.

Shortly after, the hissing was joined by a dense buzzing.

Zibonian's eyes narrowed as she instinctively focused her aura into her eyes—revealing a swarm of glowing dots floating in the air.

Each dot was no larger than a pinprick.

Thanks to her earlier training, Yuin quickly activated Gyo upon hearing the warning.

She, too, saw the countless glowing specks—or rather, the swarms of mosquitoes carrying aura.

"A mosquito-controlling ability? But the aura on them is so weak..."

Yuin's sharp gaze swept across the flying mosquitoes, sensing no direct threat.

If they had been used earlier for setting traps, that would have made sense.

But now, seeing an entire swarm, she was completely puzzled.

Could they be spreading diseases or some kind of control ability?

With aura this weak, that didn't seem possible.

As this thought crossed her mind, Yuin instinctively turned to Zibonian.

Zibonian also observed the dispersing mosquitoes carefully but couldn't immediately deduce their purpose.

However, guesswork wasn't necessary—they had come here to retrieve Kurt.

"We are—"

Just as Zibonian was about to introduce herself—

CRASH!

A thunderous shattering sound echoed through the room as dozens of aura-infused projectiles smashed through the windows on both sides of the clinic lobby.

Like a meteor shower, they curved gracefully through the air, streaking toward Zibonian and Yuin.

No—

Their actual targets were—

The mosquitoes!

In an instant, Zibonian realized this.

"Yuin! Use Ken!"

Despite figuring it out, Zibonian immediately shouted for her granddaughter to reinforce her aura defense.

Her years of battle experience had allowed her to deduce the true purpose of these mosquitoes in a split second.

It wasn't control—

They were being used as "guidance beacons" for the incoming projectiles.

But calling them "guided projectiles" wasn't entirely accurate either.

The mosquitoes weren't controlled.

They also weren't durable enough to block the attacks.

Which meant that once the aura bullets destroyed the mosquitoes, they would continue along their trajectories, heading straight for—

Zibonian and Yuin.

Yuin had initially assumed this was a control-type ability—but now, she was faced with an overwhelming barrage of aura bullets.

This unexpected assault completely caught her off guard.

Fortunately, Zibonian's warning forced her to instinctively activate Ken, reinforcing her entire body with dense aura.

And then—

The barrage struck.

Dozens of aura bullets rained down upon them, exploding violently upon impact.

A wave of devastating energy burst forth, toppling chairs, tables, and everything in the lobby with an unrelenting shockwave.

In that exact moment—

Moro, gripping the scalpel, dashed forward through the chaos, his blade aimed directly at Yuin's vital spot.

The sharp tip of the scalpel gleamed with deadly aura, ready to pierce—

"Wait, who are they...?"

As the shockwave surged past, Moro's peripheral vision caught sight of an elderly woman with a powerful aura.

Her bear-like physique and distinctive thick twin braids made Moro immediately recognize her.

She was—

Zibonian!

The senior butler of the Zoldyck family, directly serving Silva Zoldyck!

Without hesitation—

Moro abruptly halted his attack, withdrawing his blade mid-strike.

At that moment—

Zibonian's massive hand swung past right where he would have been.

By sheer chance, Moro's sudden withdrawal had caused him to avoid her lightning-fast counterattack.

Meanwhile, Yuin finally realized what had happened.

Her pupils dilated in shock, her body frozen in fear—

Had Zibonian not countered just now, she would have been stabbed directly in a vital spot.

However, Zibonian wasn't paying attention to her granddaughter's reaction.

Instead, she was stunned by Moro's decision to stop his attack.

In truth, when she first noticed the mosquito-guided attack, she had already anticipated this kind of ambush.

She had fully intended to "turn the trap against its user", waiting for Moro to walk into his own death.

But to her surprise—

Moro had realized the danger at the last second and immediately stopped his attack.

"Excellent judgment."

Despite her shock, Zibonian didn't let up.

She lunged forward, her aura-clad palm striking at Moro with frightening precision and speed.

"This old woman is terrifying..."

Moro instantly broke into a cold sweat.

That brief exchange had already shown him the extent of Zibonian's battle experience.

As her first strike missed, Moro reacted without thinking, activating Shifting Limbs—a specialized footwork technique.

In an instant, his body weaved like a leaf in the wind, producing afterimages as he dodged.

His unpredictable movements caused Zibonian's second attack to miss, striking only a fading illusion.

"Shifting Limbs!?"

Zibonian, missing her second strike, didn't chase after him.

Instead, she stared at him in surprise—finally getting a clear look at his face.

"He's just... a boy?"

So young, yet so skilled.

From his awareness and traps, to his use of mosquitoes as homing markers, to his exceptional judgment—

Everything Moro had displayed in such a short time showcased an extraordinary level of skill.

Yuin, however, didn't process all of this as quickly.

Still reeling from shock, she instinctively turned to attack Moro—

But was stopped mid-motion by a scalpel flying straight at her face.

Her pupils shrank—

Only for a large hand to suddenly intercept the scalpel, catching it mere centimeters from her forehead.

Once again—

Zibonian had saved her.

A cold sweat formed on Yuin's forehead.

She turned to face the clinic entrance, where the young boy stood.

He was younger than her, yet...

He was stronger than she had imagined.
