Chapter 550: Woman In Distress
"I'll be going now."
Aoi said with a weak smile as she put her shoes on, put her coat on, and grabbed her bag.
"See you later."
Kiernan said and looked worryingly at her.
She stepped out of the room, closed the door behind her, and headed out of the inn, as she had some things to do over at the market before it closed for the day.
When she stepped out onto the cobblestone street, the sun was beginning to set, casting a warm orange glow over the town.
In that moment, a green-veiled woman stepped through the entrance of the door, walked over to the innkeeper, and smiled behind the veil.
"Hey, I need your help."
"Hmm?"
The innkeeper looked away from his guest book and stared at the mysterious woman, a look of confusion on his face.
At that moment, she lifted the veil, and when the innkeeper caught sight of her gorgeous face, he became frozen.
He had a wife, three children, and a good life, but in front of her, he felt like he had returned back to his adventurous youth.
She cleaned close to him, close enough to whisper into his ear, and with an enchanting voice, she said.
"I want you to leave for a while. Don't come back for a couple of hours, and close the doors for today."
Evelyn smiled.
"O-Okay…"
The innkeeper did as he was told, closed the door, and left for home with a gigantic smile on his face.
Evelyn took off her veiled hat, reached her arm over her shoulder, and ripped the dress covering her back.
She then pulled out a dagger, slit it across her beautiful back, and blood began to drip onto the floor.
With a painful moan, she put the dagger away and made her hair look slightly disheveled, but just a little bit so that she would still look as beautiful as before.
When she looked at herself in the mirror, she looked like a defenseless woman, and then, Evelyn changed her expression.
Her lips curled downwards, she forced tears to stream down her face, and she then made herself tremble.
At that moment, she waved her hand and surrounded the entire inn building inside her mirror world.
"I… have been attacked…"
"Please help…"
She said, trying to get her voice correct, and then headed up the stairs.
…
With eyes closed, Kiernan sat inside the vacant room, cross-legged, and trying to get inside the Flow State.
However, it proved to be quite difficult, and his meditation didn't go well because of the things happening with Aoi.
He could tell that something was bothering her, and it annoyed him that she didn't want to talk about those things to him.
Knock! Knock!
"Help… help!"
A shout of help came from the door, surprising Kiernan, and he immediately moved to the door, but he checked the peephole first before opening it.
Through the peephole, he saw a disheveled-haired woman.
Porcelain-smooth skin, long eyelashes, and round eyes like a frightened deer. She also had strange pointy ears, as if she were not entirely human.
He put his hand on the doorknob, about to open it, but then he noticed the red rose hair attachment that she was wearing.
"…"
Kiernan stopped, put his hand out of the doorknob, and walked to the window.
He opened it, tried to look down to the street, but then his head touched something. It was as if there was an invisible wall in front of him.
"Fen… Fen?"
Kiernan called his name quietly.
"I-Is someone there… I need help!"
A weak-sounding voice of a woman came from the other side of the door.
At that moment, Fen came from the room, wagging his tail, but at that moment, he turned to the door and snarled.
[Fenrir Has Used Guardian's Instinct!]
'Thought so… I am in danger.'
Kiernan crouched before the beautiful furred creature and whispered to him.
"Go hide… Don't come out, no matter what."
Fen looked at him, licked his hand, and then disappeared back to the room he came from with Ethereal Bond activated.
Kiernan swiped his gray hair back, walked to the door, and opened it, but his expression changed to that of a worried man.
"Are you alright?"
He asked after seeing the wounded woman, and then weakly, Evelyn fell into his embrace, holding onto his arms tightly.
"I… have been attacked!"
She said with tears flowing out of her eyes, and Kiernan brought her to the couch to lie on.
"Who attacked you?"
He asked, and as she sat down, she wept and turned to lie on her stomach instead, which made her large breasts push against the cushion.
She showed the badly wounded back to Kiernan.
"I-I don't know who it was… It was dark, but they tried ripping my dress, and when I started running away, they cut me in the back."
Evelyn said in shock, covered her face in the cushion of the couch, and sobbed.
It didn't matter how hard-shelled one was; even their hearts would melt at the sight of her crying self, and they couldn't help but feel empathy towards her.
"They? There were multiple people?"
Kiernan asked as he got some towels from the back, drenched them in water, and carefully started to wipe off the blood from her back.
"Y-yeah, there were a few… I heard them shout at me, wanting me to go have some fun with them, but I-I was scared…
"I tried leaving… but they came after me."
"I'll call Police Force."
Kiernan said, pulled out his phone, but noticed that he wasn't having any service inside this mirror world.
'She really thought of everything…'
"I-Is everything alright?"
Evelyn asked, concern etched into her features.
"No service… I think you'll be fine here, so I'll go take a visit at Police Force's headquarters by myself. I'll be back soon."
Kiernan picked up his coat and headed to the door.
"Don't, please!"
Evelyn cried, stumbled after him, and hugged him in the back, pushing her soft breasts against his wide back, and tried everything in her power to stop him.
"I-I am afraid that they will come here. I-I think they saw me come here in the inn, and they might find me!
"P-Please, don't leave!"
