In a corner of the street, in the middle of the bakery, and at the edge of the park, an elderly woman sat with a small table in front of her.

She was shuffling the cards in her hands, put three cards on the table, and read the fortune of those asking.

When she was done with the previous customers, a black-haired young woman sat across from the elderly woman.

She looked quite troubled.

"It's you… Here for another?"

The elderly woman asked with a smile.

"I… want my love life read, please."

Aoi said, her voice barely above a whisper, and she looked around the street for any sign of someone who might recognize her.

"Love life… I can do that."

The elderly woman said, then shuffled the cards, closed her eyes while doing so, and then pulled out just one card.

"Interesting… Most people's love life will have fluctuations, as life can be quite long, but for you, there is only one destiny awaiting."

She said, put the card on the table, and smiled.

"Just like before, it will be free, but it's up to you whether you really want your love life to be read. The destiny is not set in stone, and you might want to change it."

"I want to know."

Aoi said.

With a nod, the elderly woman flipped the card over and looked quite surprised.

It was a card that was very specific to this situation. It wasn't just one thing in the card; there were multiple things that seemed to be connected to Aoi's life in some way.

"I didn't even know I had this card. I think this can be considered as destiny as well."

The elderly woman said.

"W-well, how is it?"

Aoi asked.

"Your lover will be tested. Oh, yeah, he will be tested by temptations of flesh, and it will be hard for him."

When she heard that, Aoi felt a sinking feeling in her chest and felt like her heart was about to break.

"However, in the card, I see him come out as top. He crawled through a mountain of sins and emerged clean on the top.

"He will be faithful to you and the daughter you two will have."

She said.

"D-Daughter?"

Aoi exclaimed.

She felt really happy knowing that he would remain faithful, but that got overshadowed by the knowledge of their future child.

At that moment, the elderly woman looked at the other half of the card. It looked much darker than the other one.

"However, your relationship will be tested by the unknown forces. You two will be separated for a long time. It's not going to be easy."

The elderly woman said, took a deep breath, and took the card back to her card pack.

"And that's all I know."

Aoi nodded, stood up, and thanked her with a deep bow, but she felt annoyed about the fact that even after this, she still said that someone would happen in the future.

'What could possibly happen…?'

"Alright…"

Kiernan led the wounded Evelyn back on the couch and made sure to wipe the rest of the blood off her back.

However, there was a nasty cut in her back that could leave a scar without proper care.

"You need medicine. I know that the innkeeper has some, so I could go ask him for some."

Kiernan said.

"I-I think I saw him leave the inn when I came…"

Evelyn said with a troubled look.

"He will have some behind his desk. I can get some and pay him later, but for now, your health will take priority."

Kiernan said.

"Ah… thank you… You're so kind."

Evelyn said with a bashful smile, looking at him with a look of a young girl in love, and any straight male wouldn't be able to resist her charm.

"No problem."

Kiernan said with a smile with a slight blush across his cheeks, then he left the room, and as he walked down the hallway, he kept the smile on his face.

'I am inside some kind of separate world of sorts. It must be that woman's Martial Ability. I don't know if she can still see me or not, so I must keep up my act.

'The moment she realizes that something is wrong, I am fucked, so for now, I'll just pretend as if I am looking for the medicine, which does not exist.'

He reached the lounge, walked behind the innkeeper's desk, and started rummaging through his drawers as if he was in some great hurry.

After searching for a while, he shook his head and, in anger, smashed the desk, and then he moved to the back door.

At that moment, he tapped his forehead and activated his Instinct ability—he saw the colors across the entire inn.

It was all red, except inside this backroom, which was green in color, and he then closed the door.

'Since the rest is red, it must be the area where she can see me, but she cannot see inside this room.'

However, while using Instinct, this room also turned red in color, and Kiernan immediately continued his act.

He went through all the shelves just to find nothing.

'Okay. She can see inside this room, so she must be able to see through the walls of this separate dimension.

Kiernan thought.

'Good job, boy. Find an exit for me, quickly, and I'll get you treats afterwards, alright?"

Kiernan then left the back room, headed back to his room, and saw that Evelyn was again moving on the couch.

"I think I heard a dog barking close to here…"

Evelyn said.

"Our neighbor has a dog, so it must've been that. Also, I couldn't find the innkeeper's medicine. He must've used it all."

Kiernan said with an apologetic look.

"Oh… I-I think I will be fine till the phone service comes back on."

Evelyn said with a pained look, then flinched because of the pain, and turned her back over to Kiernan.

"How's… it looking?"

"Not good. I think I need to either stitch it up myself or take you to the hospital."

Kiernan said.

"Mmh… I-I might actually have some medicine in my bag. Can you get that?"

She asked and then slid the dress off her shoulders, and she then turned to Kiernan, covering her bare breasts with her arms, but it barely covered anything at all.

It just made it look very sensual.

"Oh, is that so…"

Kiernan cleared his throat, checked the bag, and found one flask, but when he sniffed it, he started to feel oddly warm.

'This is not healing medicine. This is aphrodisiac.'
