Chapter 217: Chapter 217: Everyone Mind Their Own Business

Just then, a series of urgent wind chime sounds echoed from the ground floor of the general store, accompanied by faint screams from outside.

Hovering in the sky above the store was an enormous circular spaceship. Its sheer size was terrifying—just the lower half of the ship alone was enough to block the entire street.

On the ground, people gazed up at the massive, wheel-shaped vessel with a mix of awe and fear. Those with megalophobia were especially overwhelmed by its immense presence.

An alien incursion like this wouldn't go unnoticed by S.H.I.E.L.D.

Inside S.H.I.E.L.D. Headquarters

"Director Fury, we've detected an alien warship breaching Earth's atmosphere and descending upon New York!" a S.H.I.E.L.D. operative reported.

"How severe is the threat?" Nick Fury, clad in his signature black trench coat and eyepatch, stepped forward with a serious expression.

Beside him, senior S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Maria Hill quickly took a seat at a nearby computer, her fingers flying across the keyboard as she analyzed the incoming data.

"Preliminary assessment: A-level threat," she announced in a surprised tone, pulling up the alert system's data display.

A-level. That meant the potential for catastrophic damage to an entire major city, possibly even impacting surrounding areas.

To establish a standardized emergency response, Fury and Captain America had previously classified extraterrestrial threats into four levels: C, B, A, and S, ranked from least to most dangerous.

The New York invasion by Loki and the Sokovia incident with Ultron had both been classified as A-level threats. As long as the destruction was contained within a single city, it remained in the A-tier.

However, threats classified as S-level posed a direct danger to the entire planet. Even A-level threats weren't to be taken lightly.

If Ultron had successfully caused Sokovia to crash into the Earth, that event would have escalated to S-level, potentially leading to human extinction.

"A-level, huh? Notify Stark and the others to prepare for deployment," Fury ordered calmly. Then he asked, "Where are they now?"

The operative quickly pulled up their locations, and Fury leaned in to take a look. His expression shifted—first to mild surprise, then to a resigned smirk.

"...Forget it. No need to alert Stark. In fact, we can cancel the alarm. Everyone just carry on with their work."

Maria Hill glanced at the screen as well. The tension in her face instantly melted away, and she let out a silent sigh of relief.

The operative was baffled. Watching both Fury and Hill revert to their usual composed demeanor, he asked in confusion, "Why, sir? This is an A-level threat!"

Fury glanced back at the screen and said nonchalantly, "That location has some real heavy hitters. If even they can't handle it, we might as well start writing our wills."

Still puzzled, the operative turned to look at the address displayed on the screen and muttered, "221B Baker Street... What's so special about that place?"

Hill patted his shoulder and said, "Remember when the director and several others mysteriously lost their minds a while back?"

The operative nodded. "Yeah, and even the Hulk got caught up in it. But then someone managed to subdue him and even created an antidote to fix everything."

Hill pointed at the screen. "That 'someone' lives at this address. Their power far surpasses anything we mere mortals can comprehend. If they can't handle a situation, there's no point in us even trying. We'd be crushed like ants."

With that, she stood up and followed Fury out of the room, leaving the stunned operative behind, still processing what he had just learned.

"...A god-tier being living in such an unassuming place? That's insane."

221B Baker Street

The address on the screen belonged to none other than Han Yu's general store.

At this moment, the massive circular spaceship had descended upon the street where the general store was located. A beam of light shot down from the ship, landing directly in front of the store's entrance.

As the light faded, two figures appeared—a tall, robed alien with a sinister look and a massive, shirtless alien warrior stood at the storefront.

Surprisingly, the surrounding onlookers didn't immediately flee. Instead, they kept their distance but gathered to watch the spectacle unfold.

This was the nature of human curiosity—so long as danger didn't directly threaten them, they were content to watch from afar, some even cheering on the scene.

The two figures were none other than Ebony Maw, the dark sorcerer, and Black Dwarf, the brute warrior—members of the Black Order, here to seize the Infinity Stones and the Cosmic Heart energy.

Ebony Maw glanced around, sneering at the humans recording them with their phones. "Such pathetic creatures," he muttered disdainfully.

With a wave of his hand, an invisible force emanated from him, sending the onlookers flying backward, phones clattering to the ground.

Only then did the crowd begin to scream and scatter in terror.

Ignoring the fleeing humans, Ebony Maw turned his attention back to the general store. It was hard to believe that within this modest-looking shop resided someone capable of wielding the Cosmic Heart energy—something even Thanos desired.

"Black Dwarf, break down their door," Ebony Maw commanded, folding his hands into his robe sleeves, too proud to dirty his hands with manual labor. This kind of grunt work was best suited for Black Dwarf.

Black Dwarf let out a guttural growl in his alien tongue, nodding in acknowledgment. Gripping a massive alien weapon—somewhere between a scythe and a hammer—his bulging muscles flexed as he prepared to strike. With a deep roar, he swung the weapon down toward the store's entrance.

The force behind the blow was enough to shatter even a bank's metal vault door. How could this seemingly ordinary and flimsy iron door withstand such power?

The bystanders, still watching from a safe distance, were astonished. Why would these two formidable aliens make such a dramatic entrance just to attack a random general store?

It made no sense—surely there were more valuable targets than a small, unassuming shop.

Just as the onlookers struggled to make sense of the situation, something incredible happened right before their eyes.

As Black Dwarf's massive weapon approached within two meters of the store's entrance, the golden wind chime hanging above the door began to emit visible sound waves.

In those short two meters, the sound waves expanded, growing in intensity, piercing through Black Dwarf's weapon, and slamming directly into his chest.

Black Dwarf's beady eyes widened in shock as the force sent him hurtling backward, carving a deep trench into the ground where he landed.
