Master of none

Chapter 2623: 2623. Just Before You Leave

"Good morning." The only person who seemed to have actually slept properly was Walker. This was funny since he was usually the one all stuck in his head and unable to actually rest.

Yet, here he was at the table looking at everyone, while it was late morning, they were seemingly still talking about the children they had met the previous day and night. Simply because there had been a lot that the guild's showed off and even more children who managed to show off their already earned classes or the unique classes they awakened.

There was something to be said about the number of children who gained classes already.

Just the fact that they had managed to gain a class already in life was a great addition to their path of growth. They would have the ability to look further ahead and learn even more since they were starting earlier.

That didn't mean that those who still didn't have classes were unimportant. They were just still learning and growing, trying to find their own place to begin pursuing a future. It would take some time for them to get to where they needed to be. Or, they had not seen the right thing. The right inspiration or trigger to be able to get to the level of the class they could pursue.

Some of the children had been talking about their friends and how they had awakened classes, some unique classes. This had been something that they also wanted and had been clear about keeping themselves ready to awaken the best class or the newest never seen class. Just that mentality had been enough for them to potentially be holding themselves back, but in a good way.

The idea of pursuing a new class of a more unique class was not new. Some parents even encouraged this as a goal. It was all down to what the individual wished to pursue in life and how hard they were willing to work.

There were plenty who would be able to get better or more fitting classes with this sort of mentality. Not to mention unique classes suited to what they truly wish to pursue. Not that generic classes like water mage, shield warrior, or chef would be bad. They had their places within Genesis and would be valuable no matter what. Plenty of people were researching new aspects of Genesis who had such classes, it was the amount of effort that dictated the worth of someone, not their class.

"Walker, you saw the girl who awakened the arcane dagger dancer class right? She is going to learn the eleven dagger techniques even though she is a vampire. It is perfect, I bet she will be able to use all sorts of special dagger techniques." Gil had focused on this girl since she was one of the very few young vampires along with the fact that she had arcane in her class. Just as Gil had the arcane archer class.

"He was too busy worrying about the dragon priest that appeared. That little demi-human boy had lizard traits and thought dragons were the most powerful race out of all of them. So, he treated them like their history was a religion and now we have a whole mess of questions. He will be able to gain strength from learning and following the dragon race though, so he might just be perfect for building bonds with the stubborn elder dragons."

While Redey countered Gil, it was clear that she was also curious how that dragon priest class would develop since it didn't rely solely on the individual to grow stronger. It required bonds with grains but wasn't a tamer class of any sort. Definitely something more unique than what the other classes they had heard were.

"Shadow assassin." Midnight's bragging hadn't stopped since they had left. She was truly proud that one of the hatchlings had a class to be able to learn about and pursue. Especially since the hatchling would be able to work closely with those who had been responsible for helping protect the party when they were weaker.

"I think everyone needs to calm down since they are still all going through general education and won't be breaking out in to the world for a while longer." Walker's laughter made it seem as if they had all been worrying about the rain falling and not the surprising new classes that had been awakened or just generally shared.

"And what about the mages who all want to be like you? One of them is called an earthquake mage, they said they wanted to be able to shake the ground the way Walker does. Because hero Walker can even make the entire world shake when he fights." It wasn't fair that Su was the one teasing Walker now, especially since his fan club amongst the children would have been much higher if they knew Walker's true abilities.

"No, you should ask Walker about the kid who found his father's harvesting sickle and used it like a scythe since he saw Walker use a scythe once. Now he is called a hunter reaper. He has a weird class but he will be fighting monsters just like him." Gil's laughter made Walker's brows furrow. Now they were teaming up against him.

"And maybe, I will just have to let you all sink in to the elemental planes and go your own ways. I'm sure it will be fine. Surrounded by dense manas and have to fight unknown monsters." His grumbling only made the others' laughter grow.

It wasn't a bad start to the day though. They had a lot to do in terms of leaving soon.

"Have any of you planned to stop at the Genesis building and tie up any loose ends before we leave?" Walker saw everyone look away. It appeared they didn't have any desire to go there and get caught in whatever random events would keep them from their own personal goals before leaving. Then again, the potential for paperwork was high.

"I will then. And that leaves everyone else to go and make sure that each territory doesn't have any issues. If you need to, some of you can even teleport using the formation to the building area of the new city. It will be better to check up there as well." His smile was firm, no one could say a word against it since Walker was most likely getting stuck with all the paper work.

After eating something, everyone split up to check in. While they had all made sure the places they were working had been handled properly, this sort of final check was just proper business.

Ensuring that there were not issues growing where everything was being focused on growth was important to them. Yes, others in Genesis could help and figure any problems out well enough, but having the hero party help would take pressure off of the other racial representatives before they left. It would make the period without the party even easier for those working hard here.

Besides this, Walker knew they all wanted to view certain parts of Genesis. All the changes that none of them had the chance to see because of their own busy schedules enticed them. Even Walker felt that he would miss something just exploring the city at this point.

After getting to the Genesis building, Walker did find a nice stack of papers. They were related to the global mapping hall and the small mapping orbs. Since many others with the proper strength to do it had been carrying the small mapping orbs around, reports had grown significantly.

He noticed many requests for different orbs to be made along with the paperwork associated with merchant groups wanting them. He also saw that the elemental mapping orbs had been made, the wandering blacksmith and his new friends able and Jan had been working very hard to achieve them.

These orbs were specially made with the assistance of multiple elemental mages. Causing it to become a larger joint effort. Something that spoke to the growing unity between the mages and crafters. Many mages were finding new ways to use their magic, and surely would find new classes along the way.

It meant that Walker could pick up the elemental mapping orbs before leaving. It would be another massive benefit for them as they built relationships with distant races.

Bringing safety tools to these races would show their good intentions. It would also show that those of Genesis were not to be messed with. They had the tools to properly alert them of danger, meaning that anything that tried to cause trouble would be fighting an uphill battle.

It was just another aspect that brought him comfort while rifling through a larger pile of paperwork he needed to handle today.
