MHA : QUIRK EVOLUTION

Right now, Ezaki Kitazawa was a bit curious. Usually, when he gained or evolved a Quirk, he would feel pain in his body. But this time, there was no discomfort at all. It almost made him wonder if his eyes had actually evolved or not. 

Fresh out of the shower, he didn't feel like going outside to test it. If he got sweaty and sticky again, he'd just have to take another shower. And just like that, his first day of workplace experience came to an end. 

The next day, the agency returned to its usual routine. Patrols in the morning, training in the afternoon. 

When Night Eye brought Ezaki Kitazawa to the training ground, someone was already waiting there. 

It was none other than U.A.'s third-year student, Togata Mirio. 

"Alright, you two should get to know each other," Night Eye said. 

Togata Mirio smiled and greeted him in a friendly tone. "Hi, I'm Togata Mirio!" 

"Ezaki Kitazawa," he replied politely. 

"In a world of Quirks, developing your Quirk is important, but physical skills are just as crucial," Night Eye explained. "People's Quirks vary widely, so if you ever face someone like Aizawa Shouta—or even someone with an even stronger Quirk-canceling ability—" 

"If you run into an opponent like that, your physical skills will be the key to survival. Take All Might as an example—his physical abilities are incredibly strong." 

Night Eye spoke calmly and clearly. 

"Understood!" 

Both Togata Mirio and Ezaki Kitazawa responded in unison. 

"Ezaki Kitazawa, I've noticed that you mostly fight from a distance. That makes it even more important for you to improve your physical combat skills," Night Eye advised. 

Ezaki Kitazawa chuckled. "Don't worry, Night Eye. I've thought about this for a long time. While I develop my Quirk, I also train my body." 

"Good. In that case, spar with Togata Mirio. I want to see for myself," Night Eye said in a composed manner. 

"Uh… Can we use our Quirks?" Togata Mirio asked. 

"No. This is a test of your basic combat skills," Night Eye explained. 

"Got it, I understand." 

With that, Night Eye stepped back to give them space. 

"Ezaki Kitazawa, are you ready?" Togata Mirio asked with a smile. 

"Yeah! Let's do this." 

The moment Ezaki Kitazawa finished speaking, Togata Mirio dashed toward him at full speed. 

"Whoosh!" 

As soon as he reached the right distance, Togata Mirio threw a punch. 

Ezaki Kitazawa quickly tilted his body to the side, dodging it with ease. But as soon as the punch missed, Togata Mirio followed up with a second attack—a rising kick aimed straight at him. 

Ezaki Kitazawa reacted swiftly, raising his arm to block it. 

"Smack!" 

The impact landed, but his stance remained solid. He didn't budge an inch. 

Togata Mirio paused for a moment, surprised. That alone was proof that Ezaki Kitazawa's foundation was strong. 

"Swish!" 

Both of them threw punches at the same time, their fists colliding. 

To Night Eye's surprise, Togata Mirio was the one who got pushed back, taking a few steps in retreat. Meanwhile, Ezaki Kitazawa stood firm, completely unfazed. 

"As expected… He never fails to impress. Just how perfect is this guy?"

Night Eye thought to himself, "Your strength is far beyond this. Don't hold back against me, or you'll pay the price." 

Ezaki Kitazawa spoke slowly. Togata Mirio heard him and smiled slightly. "You're really strong. You have excellent control over your Quirk, and even your basic physical abilities are impressive. Now, I'm coming at you!" 

As soon as he finished speaking, he dashed toward Ezaki Kitazawa at an astonishing speed, far faster than before. In an instant, he was right in front of him and began throwing punches. 

"Bang! Bang! Bang!" 

The two clashed, one attacking and the other defending. This time, Togata Mirio was going all out, but Ezaki Kitazawa remained unfazed. 

"Boom!" 

Another punch collided, generating a burst of air. Togata Mirio was sent back several steps. Just as Ezaki Kitazawa was about to press the attack, Togata Mirio suddenly smiled. 

"Ezaki Kitazawa, there's no need to continue. Your martial arts skills are stronger than mine." 

As soon as he said that, Night Eye began clapping. He then walked toward Ezaki Kitazawa at a steady pace. 

"To be honest, this is unexpected. Among so many students, you're the first one who gives me the feeling of being truly complete, like a perfect all-rounder." 

Night Eye emphasized the last few words. Meanwhile, Togata Mirio also walked up to Ezaki Kitazawa and chimed in. 

"Ezaki Kitazawa, if I'm not mistaken, you weren't even using half of your strength just now, were you?" 

Night Eye was taken aback. "What? Not even half?" 

Ezaki Kitazawa hesitated for a moment. It wasn't something he could deny, but there was no point in hiding it either. So he simply admitted, "Something like that." 

Night Eye had the biggest reaction to this. After a few seconds of silence, he spoke again. 

"Would you mind showing me your true limits?" 

Ezaki Kitazawa thought for a few seconds before smiling. "Of course! But… it looks like there's nothing here we can use to test it."
