Chapter 428: No Regrets.
The elder from the Sword Way sect who first got angry decided that he couldn't start the fight and then run for his life the moment the fight starts. Besides that, he was very angry and didn't want to dodge.
He wanted to kill his enemy, so he focused and used all of his skills to sweep away the balls of fire or dance through them. He was getting closer and closer to the humanoid volcano through pure skill and anger.
The humanoid volcano noticed the person moving close to him and decided to focus on him. He formed a ball of fire in his hands, compressed it, and released it in a straight line towards his enemy.
A pillar of fire erupted from the humanoid volcano and flew towards the elder from the Sword Way sect. Unlike the balls of fire, the speed of this attack was very fast and difficult to dodge.
The elder from the Sword Way sect didn't want to dodge the attack. So he crossed his two large swords and used them to block the pillar of fire.
The pillar pushed him back, but he was largely unharmed. The humanoid volcano didn't like this.
In order to rectify the problem, the humanoid volcano used another technique to create flowers of fire. He created six flowers and made them rotate around him.
He stored a lot of energy within the flowers for a few seconds. During that time, he used the balls of fire to suppress the elder from the Sword Way sect and anyone who tried to get close to him.
When the flowers were ready, he made them unleash their power. Each flower erupted with six pillars of fire, all targeting the elder from the Sword Way sect.
It was the same pillar of fire with the same level of destructive power. But there were six of them now, not one. What's more, the duration of release this time was longer than the last time, and the humanoid volcano was still hurling balls of fire.
The elder from the Sword Way sect was very skilled. He danced like a whirlwind through the attacks. Some attacks he dodged, some he blocked, and some he cut apart with his swords.
He was more of a dancer than a warrior. His movements were so sublime that they became a feast for the eyes. Unfortunately, the music he was dancing to was one that wanted to kill him and had even cornered him.
One of the hurled fireballs exploded on his sword and disrupted his movement. This caused one of the pillars of fire to strike him.
The pillar of fire that hit him melted his shield and then made direct contact with his body before moving across his torso. It burned everything in its way as it did so. Then his legs were shattered by an exploding fireball.
Even when he was near death, the anger in his eyes was still pure. He thought to himself, "I would rather fight than bow."
His anger isn't just because of the current events. His anger had been brewing for more than 20 years.
So while his actions can be called rash, they weren't done in ignorance, and even up to the moment of his death, he didn't regret fighting for what he believed in.
His sharp unwavering sword heart had made him disgruntled for a long time. Now that he was dying, it made him unable to feel regret.
As soon as he was severed at the waist, the other attacks converged on his upper body and burned it to ashes. Just like that, an elder from the Sword Way sect had died. All it took was 20 seconds of fighting.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the battlefield, the humanoid spider was also fighting with everything he's got. He didn't fight up close because no one wanted to fight him up close. But he wasn't out of options.
He was slinging a red web made out of his blood at enemies. His actions were more like shooting because the red webbings were blindingly fast and had high penetrative power.
It was as if what he was shooting were bullets and arrows, not mere web. Anyone his web struck would be lucky to survive.
If there was an energy shield in its way, the web would pierce it. If there was a weapon in its way, the wen will also pierce it.
The web was dangerous because he had concentrated all of its power into a tiny area, which increased its sharpness and pressure. Just like pressurized water could cut diamond, his pressurized blood could cut rock and metal.
What's more, he chose to target the enemies that the humanoid volcano had targeted first. He lurked behind the humanoid volcano and took away the lives of compromised enemies.
The humanoid volcano was in the front and midst of enemies, while he was behind the humanoid volcano. He had an overhead view of the battlefield and could take advantage of the situation.
The best thing about the situation was that the explosions of the fireballs created a lot of noise and light. He used the noise and light as cover for his web attacks.
Those who hurriedly dodged a fireball or who were struggling to defend against an explosion would suddenly feel something pierce their heads, and they died. In some cases, it was difficult to tell that it was a web that killed them because of how well he had timed the attack.
The reason he didn't attack the swordsman who was dual-wielding greatswords was because the man had the humanoid volcano between him and the humanoid spider. If the humanoid spider had wanted to attack him, he would have had to go through the humanoid volcano.
The humanoid spider left the swordsman to the humanoid volcano while picking off everyone else. And by the looks of things, he was doing a good job because he had killed three people by the time the dual-wielding swordsman died.
