The official venue for the Chunin Exam was abuzz with activity.

The sky was a vibrant blue with a few white clouds lazily drifting by. The sun shone warmly, but the gentle breeze kept the heat at bay, refreshing everyone gathered there.

Today marked the beginning of the official competition for the Chunin Exam, jointly organized by Sunagakure and Konoha. From the break of dawn, the streets of Konoha, usually quiet and orderly, began to fill with figures dressed in various ninja uniforms, arriving in groups or alone.

Ninjas from other villages, rarely seen in Konoha on normal days, poured in steadily, escorting nobles, princes, and even daimyo from various lands. Their destination was the massive arena built in the heart of Konoha, ready to host the event.

"It's really lively," Kirito said, his voice tinged with amusement as he scanned the bustling stands. Disguised as a common spectator, he had taken a seat with Pakura in an inconspicuous corner. "After today, no matter how many Chunin Exams are held, they might never be this grand again."

Pakura nodded in agreement, then asked, "It seems like it's all because of that Uchiha brat. But tell me, is the Sharingan really that powerful?"

As someone who had spent most of her life in Sunagakure and rarely fought against Sharingan users, Pakura 's knowledge of the Uchiha's famed kekkei genkai was limited. In the past, Konoha's leadership had deliberately sent many Uchiha to the Mist Village battlefield, where the Sharingan and Fire Release techniques were at a disadvantage, to suppress their influence.

Kirito smirked slightly. "It's powerful, yes, but only in the hands of someone skilled. The true strength of a weapon isn't in the blade itself but in the hands of its wielder."

As they chatted, the contestants began entering the arena below the stands. Among them were familiar faces: Gaara, Neji Hyuga, Kankuro, Temari, Shino Aburame, Sakura Haruno, Ino Yamanaka, and Shikamaru Nara.

However, four participants were noticeably absent: Tenten, Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha, and Kabuto Yakushi.

Tenten, as Kirito knew, was now part of Orochimaru's plans. Naruto was likely still on his way to Konoha, riding a giant toad. Sasuke had been training intensely on the cliff and was also running late. Kabuto, of course, was already in the stands, having disguised himself as a member of the Anbu to stay close to Orochimaru.

Noticing Kabuto approach, Kirito felt a slight shift in the air as Kabuto sat next to him and spoke in a low voice, "Lord Kirito."

"Relax," Kirito replied with a calm demeanor, his gaze briefly flicking toward Orochimaru, who was disguised as the Kazekage and sitting beside Sarutobi Hiruzen. "I have no intention of interfering with his fight with the Hokage. But remember, after everything is over, you must deliver what I need. Otherwise, things might get very troublesome for you."

Kabuto's face, hidden beneath his Anbu mask, was covered in cold sweat. "Of course, my lord," he answered quickly before retreating to a different part of the stands.

With the opening formalities concluded, the matches finally began.

Perhaps as a deliberate choice by the organizers, the matchups were largely similar to the preliminaries. The participants were as follows:

Sakura Haruno vs. Ino Yamanaka

Kankuro vs. Shino Aburame

Temari vs. Shikamaru Nara

Neji Hyuga vs. Naruto Uzumaki

Gaara vs. Sasuke Uchiha

However, due to the absence of Naruto and Sasuke, their matches were pushed to the end.

The first match between Sakura and Ino began.

This was where the disparity between civilian ninjas and clan ninjas became evident. Sakura, who only knew basic jutsu like the Three Basic Techniques, struggled against Ino's clan techniques. Though Sakura's dual personality initially allowed her to resist Ino's Mind Transfer Technique, Ino's training under her family elders over the past month gave her a significant edge.

Eventually, Ino controlled the match effortlessly. However, out of respect for their childhood friendship, she refrained from using her full strength and instead relied on basic taijutsu to defeat Sakura, who lacked proper guidance and had spent the last month sulking over Sasuke's absence.

The match ended without much enthusiasm from the crowd.

The second match, Kankuro vs. Shino, was brief. Kankuro forfeited to avoid revealing his puppet's secrets before the later rounds.

In the third match, Shikamaru faced Temari. Despite his tactical genius, Shikamaru forfeited after exhausting his chakra, unable to continue the fight.

This left the final two matches: Neji vs. Naruto and Gaara vs. Sasuke.

However, as neither Naruto nor Sasuke had arrived, the referee, Genma Shiranui, announced a ten-minute pause. If neither participant showed up, they would forfeit, and Neji would face Gaara.

The minutes passed quickly. Just as Genma was about to declare the forfeitures, a gust of wind swept through the arena. Dust and leaves swirled in the air, obscuring everyone's view.

When the debris settled, Kakashi and Sasuke appeared in the center of the arena, standing back to back in a dramatic pose.

"Hey, Kakashi," Genma quipped dryly, "You really haven't changed your habit of being late."

"Sorry, sorry," Kakashi replied sheepishly. He quickly surveyed the stands, his eyes briefly meeting those of Might Guy, Morino Ibiki, and Maki. With a flicker of movement, he disappeared and reappeared in the stands beside his comrades.

"Kakashi," Ibiki greeted him in a low voice. "It's confirmed. A large number of Sand and Sound ninjas have gathered outside Konoha. From the looks of it, Orochimaru has brought his entire force."

Kakashi's expression darkened. "So it's true," he muttered, glancing toward Orochimaru, disguised as the Kazekage, who sat beside Sarutobi Hiruzen. "Whether or not that Kazekage is real, this situation is dire for Konoha."

"What should we do?" Might Guy asked urgently.

Kakashi thought for a moment before issuing orders. "Ibiki, have your team pass this information to all relevant departments. Make sure everyone is on high alert. Guy, stay here with me. We need to locate Kirito. He's key to understanding Orochimaru's next move."

Ibiki nodded grimly and vanished from the stands to carry out his orders.
