Chapter 13: Chapter 13: A Snapshot of the Travel Frog and Kaguya Ōtsutsuki
"Vice Admiral Noah, are you alright?!"
Hina was stunned for a moment, feeling as if that eerie blood mist had just been a hallucination.
Even the thick fog that had surrounded the ship moments ago had completely vanished.
It was surreal.
Like some kind of miracle had just taken place.
"I'm fine. What could possibly happen to me?"
Noah chuckled lightly, brushing off her concern without a care.
A mere cursed blade trying to control him?
That was laughable.
Even the First Generation Kitetsu would just be another toy in his hands.
"Phew… that's good to hear."
Hina let out a sigh of relief. That scene earlier had seriously rattled her.
She hadn't expected to witness something that terrifying.
For a moment, it had felt like the world itself was collapsing.
"Captain! The Log Pose is back to normal!"
Just then, another Marine came running up.
No one knew what had happened during that brief period, but the Log Pose's magnetic field had gone haywire.
And now it had suddenly returned to normal.
"Resume course, as planned!"
Hina ordered.
"Yes, ma'am!"
The two sailors quickly dispersed, leaving the deck to the three of them once more.
But that chilling event still lingered heavily in Hina's mind.
"This blade has taken countless lives. Even its original smith was killed by it."
"It must be at least five or six hundred years old by now."
Noah studied the sword, his expression filled with intrigue.
Its strength was undeniable.
"Five to six hundred years, huh? No wonder it's called a cursed blade."
"Looks like you've picked up quite the divine weapon, Noah-bro,"
Kizaru remarked as he eased back into his lounge chair, a faint trace of praise on his face.
Though truthfully, he didn't think much of it.
After all, how much of a power boost could a sword really give someone who fought with his fists?
At most, Noah would probably use it as a decorative piece.
"There's still that Devil Fruit we haven't checked out yet."
"That might be another pleasant surprise."
Noah smiled.
Hina quickly brought over the treasure chest containing the fruit.
She was also curious—what kind of Devil Fruit had Admiral Kuzan left behind?
Anything worthy of Kuzan's attention couldn't be ordinary.
"Oh?"
Kizaru leaned over, clearly interested too.
He wanted to see just what kind of fruit Kuzan had handed over.
Looked like Kuzan had seriously taken a loss this time.
He probably thought it was a guaranteed win.
Now he was probably curled up in the infirmary crying his eyes out.
Totally wiped out.
All that just for two boxes of cigars…
And in exchange, he gave up a Supreme Grade blade and a Devil Fruit.
Noah glanced at Kizaru's head poking into the frame but didn't say anything.
This guy had a habit of showing up wherever something interesting was going on.
Even when opening a chest, he had to poke his nose in.
Who knew what went through his mind all day?
"Feels like opening a mystery box,"
Noah muttered, though his hands didn't slow.
He flipped the lid open.
Inside was a Devil Fruit with strange, swirling patterns—almost like a fiery pitaya.
Its surface shimmered with bizarre markings.
"Looks like a Zoan-type,"
Kizaru hesitated for a moment, his brows furrowing.
He knew his Devil Fruits well.
But this one?
This was completely outside the scope of his understanding.
He had never seen it in any Devil Fruit encyclopedia.
It almost seemed new.
Like a fresh discovery.
"Hina, fetch the Devil Fruit Encyclopedia."
Noah glanced at her.
Hina quickly turned and dashed into the cabin, returning moments later with a thick, heavy book.
Issued by the World Government, it contained all the known and recorded Devil Fruits.
Nothing was omitted.
It was fully open-access for Marine use.
Noah and Kizaru began flipping through it together.
As they searched, their expressions grew more serious.
They had assumed it was just a rare but known fruit.
But the deeper they dug, the more it became clear—
There was nothing in the book matching this Devil Fruit.
A Zoan-type with no record in the encyclopedia?
They could guess the category now.
At the very least it had to be an Ancient Zoan.
And if they were lucky, it might even be a Mythical Zoan.
"Well, looks like I hit the jackpot this time."
Noah tossed the encyclopedia aside.
That useless brick wasn't worth holding onto anymore.
It didn't even have a complete Devil Fruit index.
The World Government was a joke.
Ruling the world for so long, and they still hadn't sorted this out?
They didn't even know what all the fruits looked like!
"Most likely an Ancient Zoan."
"Noah-bro, don't get your hopes up,"
Kizaru chuckled, easily sensing Noah's glimmer of excitement.
"Mythical Zoans are even rarer than Logias."
If it was a Mythical Zoan, did anyone really believe Kuzan would've handed it over?
"Heh, I don't plan on eating it anyway."
"At most, I'll just keep it in my collection."
Noah smiled nonchalantly.
Right then, a voice rang in his mind:
Ding! Your frog has sent a travel photo. Please check your inbox!
Photo?
Noah already had quite a few pictures saved up.
All sent by his travel frog, snapshots from different worlds.
Most of the time, he just glanced at them and saved them out of habit.
They weren't exactly precious…
But they were still proof of his frog's travels.
Like passport stamps across dimensions.
Just little mementos.
He opened the frog's travel interface and checked the inbox.
Sure enough, there was a new envelope.
He focused his will and mentally opened it—
"WHAT THE HELL?!"
Noah instinctively shouted.
Kizaru practically jumped out of his seat, startled.
He leapt upright, eyes darting around the sea in alarm.
He thought pirates had attacked or something.
But no.
The photo showed Little Froggy sitting on a crescent moon…
Beside him, a woman with flowing white hair and horns on her forehead.
Her skin was pale as snow, lips crimson red.
They were both gazing at a distant blue planet in the background.
A frog.
A woman.
Sitting together in the starry sky, staring into the cosmos.
Wait, wasn't that…
Kaguya?!
Noah blinked, thinking he must be seeing things.
That was none other than Ōtsutsuki Kaguya from the Naruto universe.
The final boss rescued by Black Zetsu's mommy complex mission.
He never thought the travel frog would be casually hanging out with someone like her.
How had that even happened?
Noah had no idea what the frog had been up to these past few years.
The frog had never told him much about its adventures.
