One Piece: Lazy Admiral with a Multiverse System

Chapter 14: Chapter 14: Shikotsumyaku, A Bloodline Limit

"What's with you?"

Kizaru gave Noah a strange look.

This guy had practically jolted him awake.

He had been just about to doze off, and now, thanks to that outburst, he was wide awake again.

"I'm fine. Just remembered I've got two sword manuals I haven't gone through yet."

"No better time than now. I'll go study them for a bit."

Noah waved lazily as he turned and walked back into the ship's cabin.

Out at sea, the sky was steadily darkening.

Everything around them was coated in black.

Only the lights aboard their ship shone through the gloom.

Kizaru stared after him, puzzled.

Even if he did have sword techniques to study, what good was it now?

Did he even use swordsmanship?

He looked up at the night sky.

It was already late, and staying out here would just lead to catching a cold.

Might as well sleep in a warm cabin.

It had been a long time since Kizaru had slept on a ship.

Normally, he just zipped around with his Glint-Glint Fruit.

Fast and efficient. No need for beds.

Taking an actual voyage like this? It felt weird.

He still hadn't adjusted.

"Miss Hina, got a place ready for me to crash?"

Kizaru stood up, stretched, and yawned.

"Right this way, Admiral Kizaru."

Hina lit a cigarette and sighed.

Dealing with these two wasn't physically exhausting, but mentally?

It was enough to drive anyone mad.

Watching those two laze around all day, getting stronger without lifting a finger…

She had never seen them train.

And yet, their power was downright terrifying.

Meanwhile, people like her trained tirelessly day and night, bleeding on the battlefield, risking their lives just to inch forward…

And still couldn't catch up.

They were the abandoned children of fate.

While those two were clearly the favorites of the gods.

There was no competing.

It was like comparing heaven and earth.

Honestly, they seemed like the ones wasting their time.

But the world didn't care about fairness.

Fairness?

Only children still whined about fairness.

Hina walked Kizaru to his cabin.

He yawned again and stepped inside.

Hina let out another deep sigh.

She still had to issue instructions for the ship, handle all the logistics, and squeeze in time to train.

Every hour of her day was spent grinding.

What a miserable life.

"Oh right… the manual Vice Admiral Noah gave me earlier!"

Suddenly remembering, she reached into her jacket and pulled out a small booklet.

A soft smile appeared on her face.

It was a breathing technique guide that Noah had somehow gotten his hands on.

It even included sword skills.

Definitely a big boost for her growth.

"Rear Admiral… that's my next stop."

Her gaze sharpened with resolve.

She stepped off toward the deck, eager to wrap things up and get back to training.

She had to make it to Rear Admiral within two years, at the very least.

Anything less, and she'd be dragging Noah's reputation down.

If he became an Admiral and she couldn't keep up…

She'd become a laughingstock.

Inside his cabin, Noah lay on a familiar bed surrounded by familiar furniture.

Not a speck of dust anywhere.

Hina must've had someone cleaning it regularly.

Or maybe she even cleaned it herself.

Ding! Little Froggy has returned with a souvenir!

Noah blinked in surprise at the system prompt.

Didn't it just send him a photo earlier?

Now it was already back?

Didn't it hang around with Kaguya at all?

Couldn't it have chatted a bit longer?

Made a friend or two?

He still had his eye on those Rinnegan eyes of the Ōtsutsuki clan.

After all, their powers dealt with space and time—extremely rare in the One Piece world.

He definitely wanted that Rinnegan someday.

"Let's see what it brought back."

He dismissed the notification and looked at the souvenir.

"Wait… a power?"

Noah raised an eyebrow.

He already had quite a few abilities.

Even Wood Release came naturally now.

Other Bloodline Limits didn't excite him much anymore.

A red crystal floated before his eyes.

He opened the prompt and read the description.

Shikotsumyaku – "Dead Bone Pulse": A special Kekkei Genkai of the Kaguya clan from Naruto. Allows one to use physical stamina in place of chakra. The user can manipulate their skeletal structure to attack or defend by weaponizing their own bones.

Noah tilted his head.

To be honest, this wasn't a power he needed.

Anyone who got into close combat with him was already done for.

Even Kuzan had been beaten back again and again when things got close-range.

As for using bones to attack or defend?

He wasn't impressed.

It was a cheap power.

Nowhere near as versatile as Wood Release.

Still…

If Shikotsumyaku was pushed to its limit, it might reach the same level of potential.

They were both bloodlines from the Ōtsutsuki clan, after all.

It wasn't about which was stronger.

Each had its own terrifying potential.

"Claim it."

Without hesitation, Noah confirmed the acquisition.

Any improvement to his strength—even small—was welcome.

The seas were dangerous now.

He was bound to run into the Beasts Pirates eventually.

And if Kaido himself came knocking?

That'd be a serious problem.

He had to get stronger. Now.

A red crystal hovered in front of him.

With a thought, it crumbled into powder and gently melted into his body.

A faint smile tugged at his lips.

Bone spikes erupted from his arm, glinting coldly.

One casual swipe, and they could rip through space itself.

"Not bad."

Noah nodded in satisfaction, then helped Little Froggy pack for its next journey.

Though lately… it sure had been going to the Naruto world a lot.

Had it found a girlfriend or something?

Then again, the toads of Mount Myōboku…

And that frog of his…

They didn't exactly seem like the same species.
