One Piece: My code name is Green Bull

Chapter 128: Yasakani no Magatama

A Navy Warship Approaches

"Lord Oven, a Navy warship has been spotted ahead!"

A lookout on a Big Mom Pirates vessel, flying the Jolly Roger of the crew, quickly reported to the officer onboard.

Charlotte Oven, the fourth son of Charlotte Linlin, was only twenty-four years old, but had already become an officer in the Big Mom Pirates due to his exceptional combat skills.

Though not as powerful as Katakuri, he was still considered one of the stronger members of the Charlotte Family.

In the Charlotte Family, any child with talent could rise to officer rank. As the fourth son, Oven had inherited strong abilities, which allowed him to command his own ship at a young age.

"A Navy warship?"

Standing at nearly five meters tall, Oven had golden-orange hair, a massive, muscular build, and wore only a cape over his bare torso, giving him a fierce and intimidating presence.

Frowning, Oven was well aware of the Navy's recent movements.

"For the past year, the Navy has been deploying massive forces into the New World, searching for Roger's crew… I didn't expect to run into one of their ships out here."

"Lord Oven, the warship is heading straight for us. What are your orders?"

"If they spotted our Jolly Roger and still didn't change course, it means there's someone strong on that ship. Turn the ship around and avoid them—there's no need for a direct fight."

Although young and hot-tempered, Oven wasn't reckless.

Pirates and the Navy were natural enemies, but he never underestimated the Marines.

Since the warship had clearly identified them as pirates yet still chose to approach, it meant they weren't afraid of the Big Mom Pirates.

Given the uncertainty, Oven decided to play it safe and avoid conflict.

What he didn't realize was that the man aboard that ship wasn't just any Marine—

It was a man who had come to take his life.

No matter how they altered course, the warship continued to pursue them, closing the distance faster and faster.

"Lord Oven, the Navy ship is getting closer! What should we do?"

With a grim expression, Oven ordered, "Prepare the cannons! As soon as they get too close, fire at will! We cannot let them board us!"

At this point, he was certain the warship wasn't going to let them go.

However, he wasn't about to sit back and wait—he immediately ordered his men to fire preemptively.

At the same time, he grabbed a Den Den Mushi and quickly dialed a number.

After a few seconds, a familiar voice answered.

"Oven? Why are you calling me now?"

There was no time for chit-chat. Oven got straight to the point.

"Brother Katakuri, I'm in trouble. A Navy warship is chasing my ship, and they're getting too close!"

"The Navy? What did you do to provoke them?" Katakuri sounded surprised.

"I didn't provoke them! We just happened to cross paths, and for some reason, they won't stop chasing us."

"Have they attacked yet? Do you recognize any high-ranking Marines?"

"Not yet… but if they dare to chase us, it means they don't fear the Big Mom Pirates. We might be in trouble."

"Tell me your exact location. I'll bring reinforcements immediately."

"We're at—"

Onboard the Navy Warship

Standing on deck, Jon watched as the pirate ship grew closer.

Using his Observation Haki, he sensed the ship's aura—

There weren't as many strong presences as he had anticipated.

"Jon, do you want me to stop them first?"

Admiral Borsalino, fully dressed and ready for battle, approached Jon.

At this distance, he could easily reach them with his Devil Fruit powers.

Against pirates, there was no need for subtlety.

Jon nodded.

"Stop them. Then, leave the rest to me."

"Roger that~ But I must say, this feels backward—I'm starting to feel like your subordinate now!"

With a smirk, Borsalino used Geppo (Moonwalk) to leap into the air.

Bringing his thumb and middle finger together in a gun-like gesture, he aimed at the pirate ship.

"Yasakani no Magatama!"

A brilliant golden light burst forth—

Transforming into a storm of energy bullets, raining down on the pirate ship.

Oven's Ship Under Attack

"Is Borsalino insane?!"

Watching the overwhelming attack, Peberton's eyes widened in disbelief.

Even Jon was momentarily speechless.

He knew Yasakani no Magatama was one of Borsalino's strongest moves—

It was completely unnecessary just to stop a ship.

But Borsalino still went all out.

As a Pika Pika no Mi (Glint-Glint Fruit) user, Borsalino was a "Light Human".

Even if he couldn't move at the speed of light, his attacks were among the fastest in the world.

The light bullets rained down so quickly that the pirates didn't even have time to react—

And before they knew it, the ship was engulfed in explosions.

BOOM!

A series of violent blasts erupted across the sea.

The massive pirate ship was covered in smoke and flames.

While the ship's momentum kept it moving, the damage was extensive.

"Oops~ A bit too strong, huh?"

Borsalino descended from the air, grinning as he shrugged.

"My bad, my bad~"

Jon shot him a glare but didn't say anything.

Once their Navy ship got close enough, he used Moonwalk to leap towards the damaged pirate vessel.

"Jon is going in alone. Think he'll be okay?" Peberton asked.

Borsalino smirked and shrugged.

"He's way more cautious than us. If he's going alone, it means he's confident. Just sit back and enjoy the show~"

Oven's Desperate Situation

"Lord Oven, the rear of our ship has been destroyed! We're taking on water!"

The attack had been too sudden.

By the time Oven and his crew reacted, they were already under fire—

With no way to defend themselves.

Although most of the light bullets missed, enough had hit the ship to cause severe damage.

"Light bullets… Damn it! It's that glowing bastard—Borsalino!"

The Admiral had spent years fighting in the New World, making a name for himself.

Recognizing Borsalino's abilities, Oven's expression darkened.

This was bad.

"Fix the ship! Increase speed! We need to escape!"

Against top-tier pirates, Borsalino wasn't much.

But for Oven, he was too much to handle.

His only hope was to hold out until Katakuri arrived.

Unfortunately…

What Oven didn't realize was that his biggest threat wasn't Borsalino—

It was the other man aboard that Navy warship—

A man driven by anger and bloodlust.
