Chapter 150 Bloody Scene (Request for Subscription)
Seeing Wang Wenze rush out following Liang Qian, and then looking at Xia Yu's ever-changing face, Pei Yan had already mentally prepared for the situation in the room. But even so, when he truly saw the scene inside, his mind buzzed, and it took him a long time to suppress the nausea rising in his throat.
He had experienced a few fierce battles and had seen scenes of bodies flying during fights with strange people, but this was not just bloody—it was disgusting.
The entire dormitory floor was almost entirely covered with dark brown blood foam. Three charred bodies were arranged in a triangular shape in the corners of the room, all of them decapitated, and the three heads were neatly placed at the center of the triangle.
If it were just this, Pei Yan wouldn't have been so unsettled. But what was more disgusting was that all three bodies had their bellies sliced open and hearts extracted. Long intestines were pulled out and arranged in a bizarre pattern circling the heads at the triangle's center.
"What the hell is this, a cult ritual?" Pei Yan finally couldn't hold back, forgetting Ye Jiumu's advice, and cursed while staring at the three dead-eyed heads.
"Terrifying, right? I've been a cop for so long, and I've never seen anything like this. A student who came to check after smelling blood fainted on the spot. He's just woken up and is receiving psychological counseling now." Captain Fan, standing outside the corridor, recalled the scene when he first saw it, feeling his scalp tingle. He shook his head and extended his hand to Hu Wenjun, saying, "You're here; I understand the rules. Don't destroy the scene. We'll continue gathering evidence shortly. Fifteen minutes enough?"
"Plenty!" Hu Wenjun shook hands with him, and Captain Fan nodded and turned, heading down the stairs without looking back.
After Ye Jiumu checked the entire room, he stepped out of the dorm, took out a toolkit, retrieved an internal source testing liquid, and re-entered the room with Xia Yu. After spraying it around, they watched as streams of blue light gradually emerged in the air, and everyone sighed.
"It was done by a psychic. Captain, do you have any suspects?" After packing up his things, Ye Jiumu crossed over the bodies, walked to the other side of the corridor, took out a cigarette, and put it in his mouth as he asked.
"We have a preliminary suspect, the remaining student in this dormitory, Song Mingyuan. Since the incident, he's disappeared, and no one can reach him by any means." Hu Wenjun nodded in response.
Beside him, Zhao Yuanhu interjected, "Could something else have happened to him, or did he meet an unfortunate fate too?"
"The police at the scene initially speculated that way until they discovered this!" As Hu Wenjun spoke, he took out his phone, pulled up a photo, and continued, "The original notebook has been taken back to the police station by the officers who arrived first and then secretly sealed and sent to the investigation office. This is a photo of it."
Looking at the contents of the notebook in the photo, Pei Yan found it a bit difficult. He glanced around, seeing no one nearby, so he simply removed the disguise of his left-eye patch, pushed it upward, and inspected it closely with his Mechanical Eye.
In the notebook, this student Song Mingyuan recorded every detail after he unexpectedly gained abilities, including various experiments he conducted in private. The more Ye Jiumu and the others flipped through it, the more shocked they became. This person had already had abilities for a year and a half and had been extremely cautious, releasing his powers carefully and with control to minimize the chance of being discovered.
Reading his diary, Pei Yan felt a bit ashamed, comparing himself to this person, realizing their level of depth was not even remotely the same.
But as they continued flipping through the photos, they went from being shocked to having their hair stand on end. In the past six months, this person had gone down a strange path. In the latter part of the notebook, his emotions were increasingly frenzied. He had gradually come to see himself as a deity. The last few pages contained various bizarre drawings and secretive patterns copied from unknown strange tomes, leaving Pei Yan baffled.
At the end, Xia Yu pointed to a picture in the phone and exclaimed, "Isn't this the pattern made from the bodies of those three people in the dormitory?"
Although the drawings in the notebook were rough, it was still clear at a glance that there was a connection between them and the arrangement of the bodies in the room. Pei Yan tilted his head to read the small explanation below the notebook's pattern. It claimed to be from the Middle Ages and was supposedly a black magic diagram for summoning demons. What was Song Mingyuan trying to do by summoning demons?
"This person is crazy! Just for something like this, he killed his roommates?" Ye Jiumu, upon seeing the last part, said in disbelief.
"Regardless of his purpose, this person is now an extreme danger to society as a whole, Pei Yan," Hu Wenjun said, turning to look at Pei Yan.
"Here!"
"Go downstairs with Jiumu now and have Captain Fan assist you in accessing the city bureau's surveillance system. Use your abilities to pull up the nearby surveillance footage and see if you can track the criminal's escape route."
"Yes!" Pei Yan and Ye Jiumu set off without another word. After briefly crossing paths with the returning Wang Wenze, they headed downstairs. They hadn't gone far when they heard Hu Wenjun issuing another order.
"Wang Wenze, use your abilities to track the opponent's internal source. Use both methods. We must find this person's current location as quickly as possible."
"Yes!"
Hearing this, Pei Yan, already at the stairwell, turned back out of curiosity. He saw Wang Wenze touch the ground with his hand, his body shivering slightly, and the black wolf he had seen during the pond mission leaped out of his body again, although this time, the black wolf was much smaller.
This black wolf shook its head and came to the dormitory entrance, sniffed at it, then transformed into more than ten black wolves, running down like the wind behind Wang Wenze.
The group descended the stairs. Captain Fan, having no time to question where these big dogs suddenly came from, was quickly escorted by Ye Jiumu and Pei Yan into the police car, speeding off the campus.
Meanwhile, behind them were police officers reassigned with new tasks. Except for Hu Wenjun's team, the rest each followed a black wolf in search of the suspect's whereabouts.
In the police car, knowing the newcomers were not ordinary, Captain Fan remained silent. He sat in the front passenger seat, looking through the rearview mirror at the two young individuals in the back seat. Were they really that young? Did they have some extraordinary talents?
Feeling the focus of Captain Fan's gaze, Ye Jiumu moved forward to break the awkwardness, smiling as he asked, "Captain Fan, we just arrived, and Captain Hu's introduction wasn't comprehensive. Do you have a timeline for when this tragedy occurred, and do you know what kind of person Song Mingyuan is?"
Captain Fan, upon hearing the inquiry, turned to carefully look at the two young people in the back, recalling the eerie notebook from the morning's inspection. He couldn't contain his curiosity: "Can you tell me who you really are?"
