Chapter 120: Miracle Potion
Pain
A truly Immense pain.
Like tens of molten nails penetrating my skin slowly, no, it was the blood in the coffin itself penetrating my body.
It forced its way into my blood vessels and merged with my own blood, causing unknown changes to it.
I stayed frozen in my place, gritting my teeth and doing my best to ignore my instincts to teleport out of this place.
'As if I would give up for just that!'
If such pain was needed to become a little stronger, then I was willing to endure more of it!
Compared to the pain of forming my aether core, or compared to the pain of losing my family — this was nothing!
Additionally, even if just a small amount, Glutton was still feeling some of it.
[Ahhh, that fucking itch!]
Yeah, I was satisfied.
As the pain continued, I began to feel some visible changes in my body.
My senses were heightening, my nails and hair were growing, my teeth were sharpening, my muscles, skin, organs and bones were strengthening, and even my beauty was improving.
No, I'm serious! For a moment, I was scared I'd turn into a jade beauty. Fortunately, it stopped before that could happen.
And the moment it stopped, I felt something, a type of instinct, guiding my mind into my body.
As the blood level began to lower, I focused on the tip of my middle finger.
Just then, with a simple thought and without using my aether, a small needle of blood pierced my skin and erupted out of my finger.
It was entirely red, hanging at the tip of my finger as its roots stayed connected to my blood.
'I got it…'
My mind went blank for a moment, my gaze fixed solely on the needle that was made of my own blood.
'Blood Manipulation!'
A wide smile tugged at my face. I was finally able to control my blood!
And it cost no aether at all!
I took the needle out of my finger and used it to stab my hand.
In an instant, the pain hit me. But I ignored it as I took the needle out of my hand and observed it.
There was a small hole in my fist, reaching from the palm to the back of my hand. It bled for only a moment before a layer of blood covered the hole and stopped the bleeding.
My smile widened even more.
'This… this can change many things!'
Even though I had some healing power, and my bracelet provided even more healing, the blood loss was still problematic, especially with the weight it put on the mind.
But with this, I wouldn't even bleed at all! My enemy could sever my entire arm and pierce my heart, yet not a single drop of blood would fall on the ground.
And with the zero cost of Aether, it could be used to attack in emergencies! And I didn't forget its other high potentials.
As I was smiling like an idiot, all the blood in the coffin finally faded away, then the coffin began to open.
'Oh, right. I can't forget my clothes.'
Night Terror covered my entire body quickly, but when I glanced at my hands and feet, I noticed a little problem…
'I need to cut my nails.'
With a simple thought, I cast a few wind blades to cut my nails before the light rays returned to cascade over me.
Suddenly, my expression turned into confusion as my senses spotted only 3 individuals outside.
I teleported outside the coffin immediately , then saw only Selene eating the cake with Glutton while Aria was the one holding the coffin.
"They left."
As if reading my thoughts, Aria said calmly before continuing:
"Their time was done. Somehow, the principal teleported them away."
I raised an eyebrow, but then I let out a sigh and decided to ignore this matter.
I didn't understand why the principal was too firm about them, but that wasn't something I could know.
Or at least, not yet.
"How-how was it?"
Aria asked, showing concern in her soft eyes and voice.
I smiled. "It was great! I have improved so much. Oh, and don't forget this!"
Excitedly, I manipulated my blood and made it come out of my wrist before gathering and forming a small flower.
I took the flower out of its roots and handed it Aria with a smile.
But for some reason, she didn't seem happy about the flower. She looked at the flower with a wide eye for a moment before turning into a frown.
[You are literally giving my auntie a piece of your body, you bastard!]
'Exactly! I always wanted to do something like that.'
[.....]
Aria opened and closed her mouth multiple times, as if trying to fight the right words. Just then, she stored the flower in her ring and took me into a tight hug.
My eyes widened instantly, both from the sudden move and her hug force.
I mean, damn! She could crush a Tier-2 cultivator with this bear hug!
"I'm sorry…"
A soft whisper echoed behind my ear, before I could question about the reason, she continued:
"Sorry for punching you at the banquet… I should have controlled myself. You were right, I had exaggerated…"
My eyes softened instantly. I let out a breath as I chuckled.
"Sure. I accept your apology, Sis. Just stop crushing my bones! I would have suffocated if I had lungs!"
We both laughed softly — though she was really crushing my bones and I wasn't joking — until a sound mocked me in my mind and interrupted the moment.
[Believe me, she will cook you alive when she knows about yesterday!]
'Believe me, I'll cook you alive before that!' I yelled at him before shifting my attention back to Aria.
After a minute, she finally left my poor bones, but then a small red potion appeared in her hand.
"This is a gift from me. I haven't given you anything since your arrival, right?. Drink it as fast as possible — it will increase your aether pool permanently."
"It will WHAT!"
Aria immediately handed me the red potion before kissing me in the cheek and moving away.
"I'm too late for my class. Call me mentally if you need something. And don't hesitate!"
She waved for one last time before leaving and closing the door of the suite.
I stood frozen in my place, looking sharply at the red potion in my hand.
'Increasing my Aether pool permanently? Is that even possible?!'
That question lingered in my head for a long moment. A potion that could expand the Aether pool permanently was something people would kill for!
But how did she get it? A dungeon? A gift from the academy?
But then I remembered the item she got from the land of challenges, and everything became clear.
'The skill book!'
It contained knowledge from outside this world. Did she get the recipe from it?
Did the skill book I got also contain such valuable knowledge? Would it allow me to make breakthroughs in the artificery profession as a whole?
There was only one way to know this.
It was reaching Tier-5 as fast as possible and using the book.
My eyes lingered on the potion for a little longer.
'She simply gave me something valuable like this…'
Even if she had the recipe, it probably needed special rare ingredients to make and even more effort to make the potion itself without wasting them.
Yet, she gave me the potion without hesitation.
A soft smile tugged at my face before I drank the potion.
She said drink it as fast as possible after all.
Immediately, my core began to absorb even more mana and convert it into Aether.
It worked.
No pain. No delay. No troubles.
Just straight up improvement.
"Num num num."
Just then, I noticed the noises of chewing.
I glanced at the table and saw Glutton and Selene observing me while eating the cake.
And… barely anything remained from it.
[Don't look at me like this. She ate more than me!]
Selene suddenly put her hand at her chin and squinted her eyes.
"Hmm… You really look more handsome with long hair. Don't cut it."
I moved my hand through my new hair. It was smoother than before and reached a little past my shoulder. Not too long nor too short like before.
Yeah, that length shouldn't cause any problems, right?
I teleported beside Selene instantly and took the last piece of cake from her hand.
"Hey!"
"Tsk, you both only care about your own mouths. I was seeing hell inside the coffin and you were busy eating!"
*Ding!*
Suddenly, the sound of a notification rang from my bracelet.
Eating the cake, I opened the bracelet to check it out away from Selene, thinking it was a suspicious message from Zephyr.
[Lunara Solen: Our first lesson will be directly after your second combat class. It will be only half an hour so prepare yourself to take the most of it.]
A wide grin spread over my features.
The day of my first private lesson under the strongest space Exalted was getting closer.
Just then, my eyes landed on the red coffin in the middle of the room.
"...."
They forgot it...
