Seven Deadly Sins System

Chapter 125: Sacrifice

The moonlight fell onto the Earl's mansion, illuminating it, but at the same time, it made its atmosphere even more strange and terrifying.

Every single person in the mansion had long returned to their room and locked up their doors, afraid that a ghost would pop out of nowhere and harvest their lives.

Outside the stone wall of the Earl's mansion, a figure was hidden in the darkness, leaning forward with his hand stretching out and touching the ground.

This figure was burly, covered in muscles and had the face of a middle-aged man.

Roger's hand was covered with a red liquid but he didn't seem to mind, using his fingers as a painting brush and painting a thin red line on the ground.

If one had a bird's-eye view of the mansion, they would discover that this thin red line extended around the mansion, as if it was encircling it.

Roger's movements were quite fast and before long, he had finished his painting.

The moment the red line at the back touched the line at the front, creating a perfect circle, the thin line shone with a strange, bright red luster.

Looking at the circle in front of him expressionlessly, Roger didn't stay in this place any longer, but stepped back, his body melting into the night's darkness.

The moment the circle was finished, Xu Zian inside his room seemed to notice it and his eyelids trembled slightly, before his eyes opened, revealing a pair of bloodshot pupils.

Feeling his close connection with the formation, Xu Zian sat up and patted the dust off his clothes.

As he stood up, it became obvious that the large wound on his abdomen had almost healed and surprisingly, only a scratch remained.

However, the large amounts of blood on the floor around him made the method he used to heal himself quite clear.

"It's time.", Xu Zian muttered in a low, evil, hoarse voice. Explore stories on My Virtual Library Empire

If anyone were to hear his voice, they would inevitably feel a shiver run down their spine, as if they were facing something terrifying.

Thankfully for the people in the mansion, they had already locked themselves up and Xu Zian didn't meet anyone while walking through the mansion's corridors.

Before long, Xu Zian stepped out of the mansion and took a deep look behind him.

However, this look didn't allow him to recover his sanity, but only served to make the crimson color in his eyes even more obvious.

With a thought of his mind, the Fighting Spirit in Xu Zian's body moved and formed a pair of large transparent wings behind him.

The wings flapped, carrying his body in the air and soon, Xu Zian was seen floating in the air, standing just above the mansion.

Lowering his head, Xu Zian looked at the formation that was painted on the ground and didn't hesitate at all.

Instantly, he activated it.

"Click! Click! Click!"

A low, continuous clicking sound came from the formation, as it shone with a dazzling, red light.

This red light was particularly obvious in the darkness, passing right through the mansion's windows and alerting the people in it.

"Mother, wh-what's that?", Winton nervously pointed at the red light outside the window and couldn't help but ask his mother.

"Trash! What are you so scared about?", Margaret scolded him when he heard his scared voice, but when she turned around and followed his finger, her face changed.

Although Margaret's talent was not very high, she had still managed to become a Warrior Apprentice and was only a thin line away from becoming a True Warrior.

The moment Margaret saw this red light, her intuition as a Warrior warned her of danger, causing her face to become grim.

Instantly, her first train of thought was to jump out of the window and escape.

Although there were currently on the third floor, with her strength, there should be no danger in her life.

However, when she saw the dumbfounded Winton from the corner of her eyes, she decided against it.

With no hesitation, Margaret appeared next to Winton and grabbed his hand, then opened the door and ran out of the room.

Pulling Winton behind her, Margaret ran through the corridors as fast as she could, using every last ounce of her strength.

From time to time, a frightened servant or maid would walk out of their room and block her way, but Margaret was ruthless.

Turning her hand into a fist, she punched forward, knocking every person she met to the ground and stepping over their bodies.

Blood splattered everywhere, falling onto her body and painting her face and dress in a bloody color.

Thankfully, exactly because of this ruthlessness, it didn't take long to run out of the mansion.

"What is this?", Margaret couldn't help but think as she looked at the red light that surrounded the mansion.

Unfortunately, she didn't have the time to think about it.

She understood that with each passing second, the situation became more and more dangerous.

Dragging Winton with one of her hands, Margaret ran in the garden, her body trembling and her breathing becoming uneven from the exhaustion.

"Bang!"

Her hand landed on the gate of the stone wall, blasting it open, but as a result, Margaret could feel every single bone in her hand breaking.

Still, her movements didn't stop and she only grit her teeth as she rushed forward.

Time slowly went by and Margaret didn't know how much time had passed, when she and Winton finally arrived at the source of the red light, a weird red circle.

Seeing this circle, Margaret realized that as long as she stepped out of it, she would be able to save her life and return to safety.

"Just one more step, one more step...", she whispered and was about to breath a sigh of relief when suddenly, her body went cold.

Instantly, her intuition warned her of danger, as if she would die the next moment.

Margaret lowered her head and looked at the red line just below her feet, knowing that she only had to step over it in order to survive.

However, when she looked at Winton that she dragging just behind her, her eyes flashed with determination.

"Whoosh!"

Margaret waved her hand, pulling Winton and throwing him outside the red line with all her strength.

"Mother, what are you doing?", Winton looked at his mother mid-air and asked in a loud voice, but he didn't receive any response.

The moment his body passed over the red line, it shone with a brilliant red light.

"Boom!"

Under Winton's eyes, his mother's body suddenly exploded, turning into a bloody mist that flew in the sky, rushing towards a blurry figure that was floating in the air.

"Boom! Boom! Boom!"

A loud noise came from the mansion in a distance and the next moment, bloody mist rushed out of the windows, the chimney and even out of the smallest cracks on the building's walls.

This mist rushed towards the blurry figure in the sky, surrounding it.

However, Winton didn't care about this, his gaze becoming blank.

"Mother!", he clutched the ground and yelled, looking at the place where his mother originally stood and tears started coming out of his red eyes.
