Chapter 877: Violent Resistance
Late at night, in the police station, Luo Zheng had just taken down five policemen in one go and dumped them all in the room. Seeing the other policemen retreating in panic, not daring to get close, Luo Zheng quickly retreated back to the room, only to find Lan Xue had already knocked out each policeman one by one. Luo Zheng then closed the door, picked up the weapons on the ground, and said gravely, "Something's strange here. I feel like someone's setting us up. Who could it be?"
"First, it was a theft charge. Once we got to the police station, maybe they discovered we contacted the Consulate, assumed they couldn't hold us, so they killed the target and continued to frame us. The purpose is singular: to put us to death. It seems they're trying to use the police to kill us," Lan Xue said with an icy expression, exuding a lethal aura.
Luo Zheng inspected the weapons, handed a decent gun to Lan Xue. They were all standard pistols with the same caliber bullets. The two of them split them evenly. Seeing nothing usable in the room, Luo Zheng then pulled out one of the unconscious officer's belts and tied them all up.
After finishing everything, they heard someone beating on the door outside, with chaotic footsteps, and someone shouted, "Open the door, lay down your weapons and come out, or we'll storm in."
Luo Zheng and Lan Xue exchanged a glance and whispered, "If we're going to play, let's go all out and control everyone in the police station. I took a glance earlier, there are only about ten people. What do you think?"
"Sure, but this way, we'll completely offend this country. Our only option will be to escape," Lan Xue laughed, but there was no trace of panic or worry on her face.
"Whatever, you cover me," Luo Zheng said, picking up two batons on the ground, one in each hand. Hearing someone starting to hit the door, he calculated the frequency, suddenly opened the door, and a person stormed in. Luo Zheng tripped them, and the bear-like tall and sturdy person tumbled forward heavily to the ground.
Lan Xue darted forward, and with a single knife-hand strike to the back of the opponent's neck, knocked them out. Luo Zheng wasn't worried about this person being Lan Xue's match and darted out, seeing a Black Shadow sweeping towards him. Luo Zheng swiftly ducked and swung his baton fiercely at a nearby person.
"Ah—" a scream rang out, and the policeman fell heavily to the ground, clutching his leg and rolling around.
Luo Zheng ignored the person, leaping forward, swinging the baton swiftly towards another person. The opponent dodged the first swing but couldn't avoid Luo Zheng's immediate follow-up, which hit the back of the head. The policeman collapsed, unconscious.
The remaining policemen, seeing Luo Zheng's ferocity, all grabbed their batons and rushed forward. At this moment, Lan Xue also charged out, wielding a baton in each hand. The two stood back-to-back, striking fiercely at the approaching people, who were no match for Luo Zheng and Lan Xue and were quickly laid out, writhing in pain on the ground.
After taking down all the policemen, Luo Zheng swiftly dashed to the main entrance, closed the glass door, locked it, wedged a baton between the door handles, and returned to find Lan Xue searching for handcuffs. She was handcuffing the policemen on the ground, and he went over to help.
Before long, all the policemen were handcuffed in a peculiar manner, with one person's left hand handcuffed to another's right, linking everyone together and securing them tightly to a thick water pipe. Escape was nearly impossible.
After completing everything, they searched the entire police station, confiscating any weapons they found. Discovering several detention rooms with a few prisoners inside, Luo Zheng didn't open them, and instead, returned to the main hall. After rejoining Lan Xue, he asked, "What do you think we should do next?"
"There are two options: first, as we discussed earlier, we could call journalists to say we were forced into this and request Consulate protection. But doing so would completely expose us and lead to deportation, making it hard to complete our mission; second, we could leave now, but we would need to hide our identities," Lan Xue calmly stated.
"Both options have pros and cons, neither fits us. Our sole purpose is to find the mastermind. Either way, threatening and coercing are necessary. Bringing in journalists has pros and cons, but the cons outweigh the pros. Let's consider it further." Luo Zheng said, his face turning ashen.
Lan Xue was stunned, turned to see a patrolling police car returning outside. Two policemen got out, quickly noticing the anomaly; one returned to the car while the other retreated, hiding behind the police car and aiming a gun at the police station, making the situation more complex.
"It won't be long before a large number of policemen come as reinforcements," Luo Zheng quietly stated, looking grim.
"Yes, journalists will definitely catch wind as well. We can't avoid a big scene now," Lan Xue frustratingly said, taking out her phone. Given the current situation, not contacting domestic support was no longer an option.
"Don't make calls yet," Luo Zheng suddenly had an idea and shouted, "Cover me while I negotiate with them outside, to see if there's a chance to subdue them." Without waiting for Lan Xue's approval, he inserted two batons behind him, striding towards the door, opening the glass door, and walked out with his hands up.
The two policemen, seeing Luo Zheng walking out, grew tense, and one shouted, "Hands on your head, crouch down."
Luo Zheng ignored them and continued walking. Seeing one officer about to pull the trigger in panic, he stopped, suddenly drew the batons from behind, one in each hand, and hurled them forward.
The batons whizzed through the air, hitting the policeman outside. Blood gushed from the officer's head, and he hurriedly crouched down, covering his bleeding forehead. The other baton shattered the car window with a crash, causing the policeman inside, who was reporting for backup, to cover his face in fright.
Taking this chance, Luo Zheng charged forward, knocked both men out, and heard the police car's radio buzzing. Grabbing the radio, he altered his voice, using an international language to shout, "The police station is under attack, we need backup."
"What's happening?" someone urgently asked.
"Someone is storming the police station, colleagues are being held hostage, journalists are arriving en masse, we need backup, backup requested," Luo Zheng pretended to sound panicked, shouting loudly. He then pulled out the policeman's gun and fired several shots into the sky, wiping fingerprints off the gun with his shirt.
Lan Xue rushed over and asked, "How's it going?"
"Evacuate immediately. Erase the fingerprints within three minutes," Luo Zheng quickly instructed.
"Got it." Lan Xue swiftly returned, while Luo Zheng picked up the batons on the ground, wiping off fingerprints with his shirt. Returning to the police station, he smashed the fire alarm, water pouring from the ceiling, smiled, noting that the water would wash away traces, and immediately urged Lan Xue to leave.
Lan Xue had already swiftly wiped fingerprints off the weapons, responded, and the two dashed outside. As they ran to the main road at the police station entrance, suddenly, an overwhelming sense of danger rushed towards them. Luo Zheng was shocked and tackled Lan Xue to the ground.
