Chapter 332: Reaper Hui

Signora sighed and pushed her wet silver-blonde hair away from her face. "This is so beneath me…"

"Then don't fall," Dave said with a teasing smile.

She gave him a sharp look—but stepped onto the board with smooth confidence. The board floated under her like it had been waiting for her. A moment later, she started moving—graceful, balanced, perfectly in tune with the waves, like she had done it many times before.

Dave blinked in surprise. "Huh. Natural."

"I am a Harbinger of Frost and Flame," Signora said coolly as she glided past him. "Not some clumsy human child."

From behind, Meilin shouted, "Then don't scream when you fall!"

"I never scream—" Signora began to reply—right before a sudden wave rose up, slipped under her board, and knocked it off balance.

She fell.

There was a big splash, then some coughing, and then silence as her head popped back above the water—soaked, surprised, with her hair stuck to her face.

Meilin burst out laughing. Dugu Yan tried to hold back her giggles—but failed.

Dave just smiled and offered his hand to help her up, grinning wide.

"You were saying?"

Signora slapped his hand away, lifted her chin, and said through clenched teeth, "This ocean is broken."

Everyone laughed again, the moment full of warmth and sunshine.

And for the rest of the morning, laughter, playful challenges, and splashes filled the air. Dave taught each of them—helping with their stance, cheering when they got it right, and teasing when they fell into the water.

Even Signora, who had been annoyed at first, was soon riding the waves next to him—mist curling behind her like seafoam wings.

It really was a perfect day.

But the sea breeze carried more than just salt and sunlight.

Far away, past the rocky edge of the bay, something shimmered faintly in the air—a quiet, distant presence that was watching.

Then… it disappeared.

Unseen.

For now.

Shadow Reaper Hui.

Even among assassins, he was a ghost—a phantom feared by both enemies and allies. His breathing was barely there, his presence so faint that even high-level Spirit Douluo would struggle to notice him.

But Hui wasn't a normal killer.

He didn't have the usual martial spirit of the Dark Heaven Family—the Dark Heaven Turtle, famous for defense and poison resistance. No. His spirit had changed long ago, when he was just a boy trapped in the family's Soul Abyss. What came out was much more dangerous.

The Dark Heaven Serpent.

Fast, quiet, and deadly poisonous. It gave up defense for speed, stealth, and deadly attacks. The Turtle was like a wall. The Serpent was a hidden blade.

His spirit gave him amazing precision, quick reflexes that almost felt like he could see the future, and a venom aura that weakened enemies before they were even hit.

With that spirit, he had killed two Level 95 Titled Douluo in one night—without alerting anyone or leaving a clue.

He was now at Level 94, almost a top-tier Douluo. But he didn't lead armies.

He removed names.

And now, he was watching Dave and his group.

'Hmm, that woman has the traits of the one who killed Elder Guo…' he thought, hiding and waiting for the right moment to strike them all down.

Back with Dave, Signora surfed beside him with elegance and skill.

"A rat is watching us," she said coldly.

She was a Level 99 Ultimate Douluo. The entire island was within her senses. She could detect a heartbeat beneath the waves or a light step in the shadows. No matter how skilled Hui was, no matter how well he hid, he couldn't fool her.

To her, a Level 94 assassin was nothing.

Dave, lying back on his board and riding the waves, didn't even look toward Hui's hiding spot. But he had sensed it too—something off in the air, a pressure trying too hard to blend in.

"Let him be for now," Dave said calmly, his voice deep and quiet like distant thunder. "But the moment he makes a move… I want him alive."

Signora smiled slowly, dangerously. "So… catch, not kill?"

"For now," Dave answered, still staring at the horizon. "I'm not wasting my time on bugs unless they crawl onto my plate."

His voice grew darker.

"If they're foolish enough to come again, I won't spare them. I'll erase the entire Dark Heaven Family from this world—no matter what rules are in place."

It was the most likely guess. The Dark Heaven Family were the only ones he had fought with—and the only ones who saw him as an enemy.

Signora's eyes sparkled with excitement. "As you wish, Master."

Far off in the mist, Hui—still hiding—felt a strange chill crawl down his back. He narrowed his eyes, something deep inside warning him that something was wrong.

He thought he was the hunter…

But suddenly, it felt like he had entered the den of something ancient—and far more dangerous.

He shook this thoughts and focused back on targets, merely watching them ride on weird things, out of curiosity he decided to go on opposite side of island made such boards and ride on.

The board he created was black in colour reinforced by his Spirit enegry, he nodded and remebering how the boy was teaching others he began to try it.

After few tries he succeed and for the first time a expression appeared on his face.

'This is fun..'

By the time they returned to the beach, the sun had dipped lower. Everyone lay stretched out on the warm sand, eyes closed, catching their breath after hours of fun in the waves. Dave, still shirtless and wet with seawater, sat at the back, quietly watching the sea as he drew shapes in the sand with a stick.

That was when Hui made his move.

He had waited patiently, hidden in the island's shadows. He chose this moment—when everyone seemed calm and off guard.

He appeared behind Dugu Yan, dagger in hand, aiming for her neck.

But just as the blade got within an inch—he froze.

His whole body locked up. He couldn't move, couldn't breathe. The air turned sharp and cold like ice.

Then a hand gently touched his back.

"You finally made a move," came Signora's voice—soft as silk, but deadly.
