Chapter 2: A Prisoner in a Pirate's World
Yuta woke up with the taste of salt on his lips. His body felt stiff, cold, and heavy as if he'd been unconscious for far too long. He squinted, his messy light brown hair falling into his eyes as he slowly pushed himself up onto his elbows. The waves of the ocean crashed against the shore, and as he looked around, his mind struggled to process what was happening.
Where… was he?
He gazed out over the sandy beach, a strange yet oddly familiar scene before him. Palm trees swayed gently in the breeze, and he could see the towering silhouette of a massive fortress in the distance. His green eyes widened in confusion as the reality of the situation hit him. He wasn't in the world he once knew—he was somewhere else. Somewhere completely different.
Suddenly, the sound of footsteps interrupted his thoughts. Yuta looked up, but before he could react, several soldiers in Big Mom's uniform surrounded him. Their eyes were cold, unfeeling.
"Who the hell are you?" one of them barked, his hand tightening on the hilt of his sword. "How did you get here?"
Yuta's mind raced. He opened his mouth, but no words came out. How had he ended up on this strange island? The last thing he remembered was the crash—had he somehow washed up on this beach?
Before he could process more, a few of the soldiers quickly moved in, restraining him and dragging him to his feet. Despite his 6-foot frame, the soldiers overpowered him with ease, their strength far surpassing his own. Yuta's body felt weak and disoriented, his muscles stiff from being washed ashore and dragged across the beach. His broad shoulders were sore, and he realized with a sinking feeling that he wasn't as strong as he used to be.
The world had shifted in a way he couldn't understand. One moment he was on Earth, struggling with his demons, and now he was in a pirate-infested world. There was no way back. No escape.
With no other choice, Yuta allowed himself to be pulled along. He wasn't sure what awaited him, but for the first time in a while, a small spark of something—curiosity, perhaps—flickered in his chest. This world, filled with pirates and powers far beyond his comprehension, was completely new to him. It felt like he had been given a second chance, one that he wasn't going to waste.
