The Rise of the Titan

Chapter 535: Chapter 535: Frustrating Battle

"Indeed, it was their fault. I apologize on their behalf and thank you for your mercy in sparing their lives." The Godspawn Snow Leopard spoke coldly, clearly insincere despite the apology forced by Muria's words.

"But you cannot proceed further." As a god's descendant, it knew the significant influence Titans had on giants. If this Titan appeared before the Frost Giant tribe, the faith that its father had painstakingly built over tens of thousands of years would collapse.

"Oh," Muria nodded, then asked matter-of-factly, "What if I insist on moving forward? Are you going to fight me? If so, let's not waste time. Let's start now."

Flames of battle ignited in Muria's eyes. Since leaving the Titan Isles, he hadn't encountered a worthy opponent. The continuous battles on the Synapsus subcontinent were merely instances of those with higher power levels oppressing him. This worsened when gods sent down their avatars.

"Titan, if you insist on fighting, then let's go!" The Godspawn Snow Leopard didn't hesitate long before accepting Muria's challenge. As a Godspawn, it had its pride. Even facing a legendary Titan, it felt no fear. After all, the gap between first-generation Godspawn and Titans was negligible. Some gods even invested so much that their offspring were born directly as gods.

"It's not that I insist on fighting; you're the one blocking my way." Muria looked at the massive snow leopard, seemingly larger than himself, with a pleased smile. Its eyes were light gold, indicating the presence of divinity inherited from its father.

Godspawn were classified into various tiers. The highest tier was born as gods, reigning supreme over countless beings. The next tier, like this one, had a portion of divinity and godly power, giving them the highest chance of becoming gods among mortals.

The lowest tier of Godspawn were those born from gods' avatars possessing mortals to satisfy desires or for amusement. These didn't inherit divine power but were merely more talented than their peers due to the divine influence. They couldn't compare to true Godspawn with divinity.

"Roar!" A beastly roar caused the falling snow to halt as if time had stopped. The snowflakes then condensed into ice shards, rapidly expanding and merging into ice spikes that launched at Muria mercilessly.

"Impressive ice control, fitting for an ice god's offspring. But do you think these attacks are effective?" Golden dragon flames blazed from Muria, emitting intense heat. The snowflakes and ice shards near him began to melt. The ice spikes vaporized upon touching the dragon flames.

However, as Muria spoke, he sensed something wrong. The snowfall intensified, and the ice spikes grew larger, eventually resembling small ice mountains enhanced with special power, making them as hard as refined steel.

"Environmental suppression." Golden lightning erupted from Muria, shattering the approaching ice mountains. He felt suppressed by the environment, as if the world itself was against him.

In this icy realm, Muria was at a disadvantage. His power received no boost and was even suppressed. Now, under the control of the Godspawn Snow Leopard, this suppression was magnified tenfold.

"Pointless power struggle!" Muria sneered, his massive body moving swiftly. His size didn't slow him down; the larger his form, the stronger his physique, and the faster he moved. The atmosphere couldn't hinder him.

In a few strides, Muria reached the Godspawn Snow Leopard, his fist clenched. A violent storm formed around him, centered on his fist, which was wrapped in dense golden lightning, making it radiant.

Boom! Without much buildup, Muria punched at the Godspawn. The world fell silent, devoid of color, leaving only black and white, and the golden lightning-wrapped fist.

Boom! The sky and earth trembled. The storm-wracked sky split open, leaving a trail of lightning. On the frozen ground, a deep trench extended far into the distance, the glacier and mountains shattered by the punch.

The target of Muria's punch, the Godspawn Snow Leopard, turned to ice shards. However, Muria's face showed no joy of victory; instead, he grew more serious.

"I underestimated you." Muria scanned his surroundings. He hadn't hit the snow leopard at all. His senses had been deceived; he had attacked a mere ice avatar.

Hence, his punch caused such widespread destruction, shattering half the sky's clouds, creating a bizarre phenomenon with one side clear and the other snow-covered.

"You are stronger than I expected. As expected of a Titan, just having become a legend, you possess such power." The voice, filled with awe, echoed from all directions, making it impossible for Muria to locate the source.

"Afraid to fight me up close?" Muria taunted.

"That's what you Titans excel at. In contrast, it's my weakness. I prefer manipulating ice and snow for attacks, so I won't engage you in close combat."

As the snow leopard spoke, the dispersed clouds reformed, and snow covered the land again. Weapons of ice and snow formed and launched at Muria, even attacking from beneath him.

"Coward!" Blazing dragon flames expanded from Muria, melting the snow and ice within thousands of meters. Even the permafrost beneath him began to thaw.

"It's useless. No matter how strong your foundation, how long can you sustain it? Three days? Ten days? A month? This is my domain. With minimal power, I can leverage the environment to suppress you. You'll inevitably fail in a prolonged battle.

Titan, retreat. Avoid this direction, and I won't interfere with your plans or pursue your past actions."

"I hate this kind of battle." Maintaining a dragon flame-protected area for a short while, Muria stopped. The energy consumption was too high. The cowardly leopard even used glaciers to attack him, which was excessive.

"Stop advancing, Titan." Seeing Muria continue towards the Frost Giant tribe despite the attacks, the snow leopard felt frustrated. The Titan's defense was too strong, its attacks only draining his energy. Defeating him seemed impossible.

"Then come out and fight me openly. Defeat me, and I'll leave without a word." Muria advanced resolutely. Both he and the snow leopard felt increasingly irritated. Muria had hoped for a satisfying battle with a Godspawn, but the leopard refused direct combat, using environmental advantages to force him back. How could Muria comply?

"Stubborn fool!" Snow and wind swirled, and a well-proportioned Frost Giant appeared before Muria, almost as tall as him, around 120 meters.

"The child of the Snow Leopard God Sinbad and a Frost Giant! Is this your Frost Giant form?" Muria eagerly sized up his rare opponent. "You finally showed yourself. Why not keep hiding?"

"Titan, don't be arrogant. I just wanted to resolve this with minimal effort. Defeating you isn't difficult, just a matter of energy consumption."

"Heh! Defeat me? How much power can your weak divine parent spare for you?" Muria sneered, his expression clear to the Godspawn. "Anyone can talk big. Prove it with your fists, or you'll gain nothing but my mockery."

"As you wish, arrogant Titan." Muria's words, subtly disrespecting its father, enraged the Godspawn. Ice-formed axes and armor appeared on its body, and it instantly appeared before Muria, swinging the ice axe down.

"Not even a decent weapon? Is this how your father treats you?" In disbelief, the Godspawn saw Muria grab the ice axe with his left hand wrapped in Holy Radiance and bound by star chains. A sealing force stopped the Godspawn momentarily.

In that moment, Muria's right hand, holding a spear inscribed with ancient runes, pierced the Godspawn's body...
