The Rise of the Titan

Chapter 536: Chapter 536: Envy and Greed

"A legendary weapon and armor!" The Godspawn Snow Leopard stared in disbelief, clutching the spear that had effortlessly pierced his abdomen. He felt the hardness and the destructive power it unleashed upon his body. Simultaneously, he saw his own ice-forged battle axe strike Muria's hand without causing any harm.

Yet, the physical damage paled in comparison to the emotional blow. The Godspawn Snow Leopard was deeply wounded by the sight of a weapon and armor forged entirely from legendary metal. Before meeting Muria, he couldn't even fathom the existence of such luxurious equipment.

To him, these items were the pinnacle of extravagance. For large, powerful beings, finding suitable weapons was challenging, especially for giants. At the legendary level, weapons were scarce. Even high-grade extraordinary metals capable of withstanding legendary power would require an enormous amount to forge armor or weapons for a being of his size. The resources needed were beyond his reach, and even if forged, they wouldn't significantly enhance his combat power.

Given the low cost-effectiveness, the Godspawn Snow Leopard had abandoned the idea of forging his own weapons. His ice-forged weapons were sufficient. As a Godspawn, his inherent power compensated for any lack of equipment against most foes.

However, he now realized that when the disparity in equipment became too great, it could bridge the gap in raw power. Over three centuries, the Godspawn had achieved the strength of a fifth-tier legend. With time, even without training, his power would inevitably grow to legendary peaks. But currently, his fifth-tier strength seemed insufficient.

This Titan, who appeared seemingly out of nowhere and sought to challenge the faith his father had cultivated among the Frost Giants, was only a first-tier legend, appearing to have recently broken through. The Godspawn had been confident, believing that with his higher rank and the environmental advantage, he could easily defeat Muria.

Yet, in close combat, he realized his grave mistake. He now understood why Muria sought direct confrontation rather than a prolonged power struggle. The Titan exploited his superior equipment.

Grasping the true nature of Muria's gear through painful experience, the Godspawn's surprise and envy were evident. Unlike dragons, natural masters of appraisal, he couldn't easily discern the quality of items.

"Don't be so shocked," Muria smirked, lifting the Godspawn into the air with the Spear of Sunfire, giving him no chance to respond. Muria twisted his hand, releasing the Titan's thunderous power into the Godspawn's body, tearing apart his internal organs before violently hurling him to the ground.

The impact shook the earth. The permafrost, as hard as refined steel, collapsed at the Godspawn's crash site, forming a massive crater with a radius of five kilometers, resembling a meteor strike on the glacier.

"Ugh!" The Godspawn groaned in pain, blue blood mixed with organ fragments spilling from his abdomen. Yet, before hitting the ground, the bleeding stopped, and the fragments seemed to reverse course, flowing back into his body as if time itself rewound.

In agony but regaining consciousness, the Godspawn systematically expelled Muria's Titan power from his organs. This rapid process caused immense pain, beyond mortal endurance. Mortals, of course, would only experience the pain of shattered organs before death.

"Titan!" The Godspawn stared up at Muria, who hovered above, his eyes blazing with anger and greed for Muria's armor and weapon. He desired to seize them. As a Frost Giant, he was taught by his mother to take what he desired by force, and he had always lived by this creed.

"Poor fool," Muria's eyes narrowed at the Godspawn's gaze, filled with insatiable greed. The Titan sneered, knowing full well the Godspawn's intention to take his weapon. "As a Godspawn, to be without a decent weapon is disgraceful. I thought Godspawn at least possessed a divine artifact. You've lowered my expectations."

"I might not have a legendary weapon now, but after this battle, I will." The Godspawn's eyes were wild with greed, his expression growing more ferocious.

"Think you can take my weapon? Foolish Godspawn, come and try!" Muria taunted, transforming the Spear of Sunfire into a bolt of golden lightning, preparing for an attack.

"Boom!" For the first time since reaching legendary status, Muria hurled the Spear of Sunfire. The spear's trajectory left expanding shockwaves, creating massive rings visible even from miles away. The dark clouds above dispersed, leaving a vast, clear expanse.

"Do you think that can hit me?" Despite the intense sense of being targeted and the overwhelming pressure, the Godspawn didn't panic. In a flash, he transformed back into his giant snow leopard form and vanished from Muria's sight, moving too fast for Muria's mental senses to track.

"What incredible speed!" Muria exclaimed but then smirked disdainfully. "But what good is speed? You can't evade the power of the Sunfire. Once pierced, you can't avoid it again."

"Can't shake it off!" The Godspawn Snow Leopard sprinted across the glacier, trying to outrun the Spear of Sunfire. He didn't want to experience being impaled again, especially by a spear now charged with golden lightning.

"If that's the case, then I'll keep you chasing me until the battle ends. My future weapon," the Godspawn thought greedily. He then charged at Muria, who watched from above, slashing at his head with a massive paw, intending to crush it with brute force.

But Muria was ready. He had anticipated the Godspawn's move. As the claw approached, Muria swiftly raised his arm, deflecting the attack with his armored forearm. Sparks flew from the impact, but Muria remained unfazed. With his other hand, he summoned the Spear of Sunfire back to his grasp, ready to counterattack.

"You think you can just take my weapon?" Muria's voice was filled with cold fury. "You're not worthy!" He thrust the spear forward, aiming to impale the Godspawn once more, determined to end this battle decisively.
