Chapter 108: Chapter 108: The Streets Run Red
The moment Jinwoo hung up, he knew—Joon-Sang would strike back immediately.
He needed to move first.
His phone buzzed again.
Hana: "Meet me at the Crimson Hotel. We need to talk."
Jinwoo exhaled. He had no time for games, but Hana was the only one who had seen the bigger picture before he did.
And right now, he needed answers.
---
2. A Dangerous Proposal
The Crimson Hotel was a high-end place, but Jinwoo walked in like he owned it.
Hana was waiting at the rooftop bar, a glass of whiskey in her hand.
"Nice work at the docks," she said without turning around.
Jinwoo sat across from her. "How long do we have before Joon-Sang retaliates?"
Hana smirked. "He already has."
Jinwoo stilled. "What do you mean?"
She slid a phone across the table. The screen lit up with a live video feed.
Jinwoo's stomach turned to ice.
His safehouse was burning.
Ji-Eun was inside.
---
3. Racing Against Time
Jinwoo didn't think—he ran.
By the time he reached the safehouse, flames were devouring the building.
Firefighters were already there, but Jinwoo didn't care.
Ji-Eun was still inside.
"Damn it," he cursed, shoving past the crowd.
A firefighter grabbed him. "You can't go in there!"
Jinwoo didn't listen.
He ran straight into the flames.
---
4. Out of the Fire
Smoke filled his lungs. His vision blurred. But he pushed forward.
"Ji-Eun!" His voice was raw.
Then—a cough.
He turned.
She was there, trapped under fallen debris.
Jinwoo's heart pounded. He grabbed a steel bar, muscles screaming as he lifted it.
Ji-Eun gasped for air.
"Stay with me," he muttered, lifting her into his arms.
Flames licked at his back, but he didn't stop.
He ran.
The moment he burst outside, the building collapsed behind him.
Ji-Eun coughed weakly. "Took you… long enough."
Jinwoo exhaled shakily. She was alive.
But Joon-Sang had made his move.
Now, it was Jinwoo's turn.
---
5. The Counterattack
Jinwoo laid Ji-Eun down carefully, his mind racing.
Joon-Sang thought he had won.
He thought this would make Jinwoo back down.
He was wrong.
Jinwoo pulled out his phone.
Dialed a number he never thought he would.
The voice on the other end was deep, amused. "Didn't think I'd hear from you, Jinwoo."
Jinwoo's jaw clenched. "I need guns."
A low chuckle. "Big ones or small ones?"
Jinwoo's grip tightened. "All of them."
The war had officially begun.
And this time, Jinwoo wasn't playing defense.
He was coming for the throne.
