Chapter 250: Just what was his problem?
"Master, have you slept with him before?" I asked, looking at him seriously but I was completely hurt inside.
I felt twisted for wanting to know this when I had already concluded in my heart that he had.
Even if he denied it, I might not believe it.
But then, Seo-Jun did not deny it and instead looked away, having an expression that made it seem like he had been caught cheating.
So, that's how it is.
I feel even more unsettled than at ease. Just... How did I end up like this?
Okay, you're probably wondering how we got to this point since I was just staring at Seo-Jun and that sales guy talking.
I mean, it could very well be my imagination, but sadly, it wasn't.
Seo-Jun was a regular in this bookstore. So he had talked with that Omega who was manning the counter a couple of times. Hm, maybe more than that.
Just look at how he was blushing and... Why were they still talking?
It was an unpleasant sight to me for some reason.
Ah, could this be what they call jealousy?
Yeah, it must be it. I won't deny I'm jealous when I am.
Seo-Jun, unlike me, was an Alpha who could have anyone he wanted to warm his bed. Not complaining about that.
But if he was going to flirt at all, could he not do it in front of me?
They may have the entire world grovelling at their feet, but I only had my masters. I don't like seeing something like this.
Something that reminds me of my master's freedom.
I turned around.
It would be better not to look.
Who knows? Seo-Jun might've already slept with that sales Omega a couple of times and that's why he just can't get enough of Seo-Jun.
Pathetic.
I was probably more pathetic, feeling jealous and all.
'It's fine. It'll pass soon.' I told myself, but it didn't make me feel better, especially when that Omega was laughing so loudly like he wanted me to hear his laughter.
Just what was his problem?
'I think I'll just wait outside.' I thought. 'No use standing here and entertaining this. I'll just feel more uncomfortable and I don't know what I might do.'
So, I decided to go wait outside, but as I took a single step, on my way outside, Seo-Jun called.
"Jo-Pil." I paused.
He called me from all the way there?
I didn't turn around.
Why? Cause I didn't want to see them and if he had something to tell me, he could as well walk up to me.
"I... I'll just wait outside," I said and walked briskly towards the door.
But as I was about to step out, my hand got caught.
Seo-Jun had caught up to me.
Ah, how was he so fast?
He looked at me with an unsettling expression and said,
"You can't. It's dangerous."
I looked at him and then pursed my lips.
Right. No one knows what might happen to me on this outing.
Misfortune always found a way to their target with the slightest slip up and Seo-Jun wanted to prevent that.
'He wanted to avoid me getting hurt, not that he could tell I had gotten hurt.' I thought, bowing my head. 'Right. How could he tell? This is his usual behavior anyway. He could flirt and pick up partners from anywhere and anytime and it still wouldn't be my business.'
"Hey, what's up with you?" He asked but I stayed silent.
He looked at me, confused. Not able to tell what was going on with me and I sighed.
"Why did you call me?"
Let's just move on from that topic.
"I wanted to introduce you to someone." He said and my eyebrows slightly furrowed. He wanted to introduce me to that Omega?
Okay, Jo-Pil, calm down.
It seems you're having a little phase. It's not good to be jealous based on assumptions, so let's take a deep breath and...
"Hi," I opened my eyes as I heard the voice of the Omega.
He had left his sales position and had walked up to me.
Ah, from up close, he looked prettier than I thought. But still not as pretty as me, though. Ahem.
"I heard you like books just as much as he does." He said, pointing at Seo-Jun. "It's a pleasure to meet you."
Okay, first. Friendly much.
Was it an act or was he naturally friendly?
"My name is Jo-Pil." I started off. Usually, one should start an introduction with a name first. But he started off with a casual, 'hi' and just went on with it.
Seeing how I said my name, he also decided to say his name.
"Oh right. Sorry. I should've said my name first. I'm Kim Ha-joon." He said and my eyebrows slightly furrowed.
In this world, there were a variety of last names, but the popular ones were Lee, Sun, Kang, and Shin. And after that, the names that followed with a decent amount of popularity were Kim and Seol.
So, this person bearing the last name Kim could very well be a famous person in disguise or a relative.
And he... Was someone Seo-Jun knew.
I shook my head.
I might just be the one putting too much meaning into this.
I looked at Seo-Jun, wondering what he wanted to happen by introducing both of us, but he didn't look bothered.
He simply smiled.
Then, was this his way of showing off?
Aish, I don't want to be rude but...
"I'm sorry but what is this?" I asked. "I mean, do you need something from me?"
"No, not at all but I heard you're an avid reader, so I wanted to ask you if you would like to read my book." He said and I paused.
"Your book?"
"Yes." He nodded and started looking awkward. "Maybe this mightn't have been a good time for this since you seem upset. Then, I'll let him tell you the details."
It seemed like my dissatisfaction was written all over my face because Seo-Jun and Ha-Joon looked at me weirdly.
Yeah, I need to calm down. So, I took in a deep breath and exhaled, feeling much better.
But... That all fell to naught when Ha-Joon bowed his head and said,
"Well, I do hope you read my book."
My eyes widened and my pupils shrank. Even when he raised his head and walked away, I was still in that shocked state.
It wasn't because of his bow or what he told me that got me so shocked and frozen in place. It was what I saw.
A red line mark around his neck that he hid underneath his turtle neck shirt.
I didn't see it completely but I could tell. Maybe it was because I had been subject to such treatment a handsome number of times and I had unwillingly stared at my reflection, feeling disgusted at my own body, but I was able to know what that was.
I couldn't even assume it was due to having a violent partner and undergoing such things as abuse, because that was a bruise that could only be gotten from a collar.
In other words, that Omega was into BDSM.
