Uchiha, a new beginning

Chapter 16: Chapter 16 First Mission

It's been a few months since peace came to the Uchiha clan. Apparently, this has helped many couples, as can be seen by the bulging stomachs of many of them.

But the most important thing is that I've finally become a ninja. Not many ninjas are sent to guard the borders these days, so we have time to go on missions.

The number of these missions has increased recently, due to the news that the Uchiha clan had defeated the Senju clan.

This caused quite a stir in the Land of Fire, so the missions we receive are increasing every day.

At this moment, I was standing in front of Madara, presenting the proposal that had taken Izuna and me so long to analyze, regarding the union of some ninja clans.

Madara was sitting, his hands clasped. "No," was the answer he gave us, at the mere mention of the union of other clans.

Izuna: "Brother, but you have to look at this situation differently if we join forces with other clans."

Madara, hearing these words, placed both arms on the table. "I know what you're trying to do, but we previously allied with the Hagoromo clan, and that didn't work."

Upon hearing this, I remembered when he and Hashirama had found the body of one of these ninjas in the river where their meetings were held.

Madara: "The Uchiha tactics weren't carried out correctly by the Hagoromo clan, so we suffered too many losses."

Jomei: "But if we use tactics that all the clans can adapt to, we could change that."

Madara: "The other clans are very weak; they won't be able to adapt to our way of fighting."

Jomei: "How about each clan split up to form groups dedicated to different functions?"

Madara: "Explain."

Jomei: "For example, if we manage to recruit the Aburame clan, we could have them take charge of guarding the borders in a larger radius than is currently the case."

Izuna was currently turning her head from side to side, following the conversation between Madara and me.

Madara: "Tell me, how would you accomplish that?"

I turned to the map Madara had hanging on one of the walls. "For example, I know you have some insects that can spread, which could quickly gather information about an incursion."

I pointed out four locations, two of which were the area where the Senju clan's borders were located, and the three clans that belonged to the Inoshikacho alliance.

The third location was Whirlpool Island, where the Uzumaki clan was located.

Jomei: "I know Hashirama's wife is from this clan, so they might seek their support."

Madara: "We've fought the Senju for a long time, but they've never intervened. We even have a ninja from their clan, don't we?"

Jomei: "Her name is Kazuko, and she's our family servant. We've never treated her badly."

Izuna: "But they still haven't wanted to take her back. I don't see why they would intervene this time."

Jomei: "Previously, they were allies only in words, but now that both clans have united through marriage, and a son was born from this union some time ago, things have changed."

Madara and Izuna were contemplative at my last words, but before I could lose that moment, I continued with the final blow to the iron.

I began to move my hand across the map until my finger stopped. Madara frowned. "Why did you point out the border bordering the Sarutobi and Shimura clans? We have nothing against them, nor do they have anything against us."

Jomei: "Because they'll join the Senju clan," I said with a confident look.

Madara: "How will that happen? We've already defeated the four clans and signed a peace document."

Jomei: "That's exactly why they'll attack us. They'll probably wait until we let our guard down. Besides, from what I've heard from Izuna, the peace argument was made because the Senju clan patriarch so decided."

Madara gave Izuna a cold look, but in the next instant, he crossed his arms again, smugly. "Even so, they proposed it. They will never break that agreement."

Jomei: "When this was done, was everyone in agreement?" These words alone made Madara recall Tobirama's face.

Madara: "No, but they will never be able to change Hashirama's mind."

Jomei: "At least not for a while, but the Senju clan has made their first move, which was to propose a peace that never happened, so they will use this argument to attract more clans."

"And this will cause us to find ourselves surrounded by enemies," Madara and Izuna responded in unison.

Jomei: "That will happen at first. Later, they will overwhelm us with their numbers, and finally, they could exterminate the clan."

A loud bang from Madara's fist hitting the table echoed throughout the room.

"I still think they'll keep their word," Madara snorted. "We still have an immense number of ninjas."

Jomei: "*Sigh*, I just hope that when you realize what's about to happen, it won't be too late."

"Child, you're still very young. You don't fully understand the ninja world. You don't have the ability to see the future. You're not the smartest ninja of all. Your ninja path is just beginning," Madara replied in a soft voice.

"Patriarch, I respect your decision, but even so, during my missions, I will try to recruit some clans on my own. I hope you understand my reasons." My gaze was completely determined, but I still knelt and bowed before the patriarch, waiting for an answer.

I thought I wouldn't get a response from Madara, because he had taken too long to answer me.

Suddenly, a low growl came. "Fine, you can do it, but every move you make will be your responsibility, not the clan's."

I nodded, and after that, I left the place, although before I left the residence, Izuna caught up with me.

Izuna: "Jomei, well, I think it could have gone worse."

Jomei: "Sure, but a little of your support wouldn't have hurt."

Izuna was a little embarrassed. "I'm sorry, it's just that sometimes the look on my brother's face..."

Jomei: "Okay, don't worry, at least I have the patriarch's permission to recruit those clans. I know it will be difficult, but it's a start."

Izuna: "Well, maybe this can help you. We hadn't planned for it, but I hope it helps." In his hand was a scroll, not an information scroll, but a mission scroll.

I took it and began to read it, my eyes bulging out of their sockets. It was a mission to subjugate and exile a clan that possessed the Ketsuryūgan.

Indeed, it was the Chinoike clan. No wonder this clan didn't appear in the information Izuna had presented to me a long time ago.

"What do you know about this clan?" I asked, as if completely unaware of their dojutsu and abilities.

Izuna: "We don't know anything, only that they come from a northeastern region. Those who brought the mission called themselves envoys of the daimyo of these lands."

Jomei: "Just to clarify, the situation is very different from what is described in the scroll."

Izuna seemed puzzled by what I said. Izuna: "What makes you think that?"

Jomei: "The whole picture. It's described as the daimyo's concubine being the one who murdered him, but there's no proof of this, only the word of the daimyo's immediate wife, but at the same time, they don't tell us what her abilities are."

Izuna: "So you think this is a trap set by someone who didn't want them near the daimyo?"

Jomei: "No, my instincts tell me so. It's very similar to what could happen to us in a few years with the Senju clan."

Izuna: "Well, I think this is a mission you can take on, though it doesn't matter whether you complete it or not."

"What do you mean?" I asked, my tone full of doubt.

Izuna: "Don't worry, we've already taken care of everything, so you have at least a few weeks to figure this out."
