Who hid My Corpse!

Chapter 18: I Have No Mother (Part 2)

"I have a question." Isaiah suddenly said, "Once the rule is traded away, can one no longer use it?"

This was a question Rocky had plenty to say about, considering he had lost to Bai Wei twice in a row. But before he could speak, Bai Wei leisurely shook his head, "No, no, no, this time it's different. After the rule is traded away, you can still use it in daily life, but if the other party wants to use it, the priority falls on their side, and the cost will be borne by you. Of course, it's the same the other way around."

After hearing Bai Wei's words, Rocky was momentarily stunned before he slammed the table and stood up, "What the hell, how is it different from before? Why couldn't I use it before?!"

"Hehe, before it was a wager, now it's a trade." Bai Wei replied with a smile, "The cost of a wager is naturally greater, whereas the content of a trade should always be lighter. And you know, rules development always needs sacrifices."

What the hell, it's all sacrificed on my head, right?!

Rocky was gnashing his teeth.

Bai Wei's explanation made Isaiah and Diana feel a little relieved.

If the loaned rule were to become directly invalid, then no matter what, they wouldn't trade it. Because one of them has their eye on the Star Sea, while the other has hundreds of Contractors under their wing, they cannot accept invalidation.

Since that's the case, they might as well consider trading their own rules.

But... it depends on what they can gain.

They looked at Bai Wei in unison.

This trade, rather than a transaction among themselves, was more like a trade with Bai Wei, because he held the most cards.

Which means he was still the undisputed "dealer" in this game.

And under the gaze of the three, Bai Wei slowly raised his hand and conjured a card out of thin air, then imprinted it with the middle finger icon.

Consequently, three cards floated directly in front of Bai Wei, which were labeled "Eye," "Middle Finger," and "Information."

Under his lead, the remaining three also completed their own Rule Cards and Information Cards.

"Just to add, the trade of the Information Card will first enter a 'private chat' state, where both parties will reveal a gist of the information before deciding whether to trade." Bai Wei snapped his fingers, "Alright, all the explanations are complete. Under the witness of Taoyuan Village, none of us can deceive. So, who will start first?"

The moment Bai Wei finished talking, Rocky couldn't wait any longer and jumped out, "I'll go!"

He understood very well that whoever went first would definitely gain, as there was only one card, and once selected by someone, it would be gone. So he certainly couldn't lag behind.

So Rocky picked his "Disturbance" card and then scrutinized Bai Wei's three cards.

Which one should he choose?

First, exclude the Information Card and look mainly at either "Gaze" or "Termination"... Damn, thinking about it carefully, both of these things should have belonged to Rhein originally.

It's all because of that damn One-eyed Dragon!

...But then again, what exactly is the feel of that "Gaze" that made the One-eyed Dragon so infatuated?

At the thought of this, Rocky felt a tickling desire.

In the "Taboo Book," the rank of the left eye is much higher than the middle finger, so...

"I choose the eye." Rocky said without hesitation, "Give it to me."

"Sorry, not trading."

Rocky was stunned, "Not trading?"

"Yes," Bai Wei smiled and said, "Mr. Thumb, have you forgotten that I've played with your 'Disturbance' twice already, it's truly nothing fresh, so I won't trade."

Rocky was dazed.

What the hell kind of devil's talk is this?!

You're even tired of playing?!

In that instant, the humiliating memories of the past surged onto Rocky's mind, bringing back the days ten years ago when he was just a little priest, trying all sorts of things to please the priest only to find the guy had found someone even younger, making him want to grind his teeth to dust.

No, no, I can't lose my temper.

Rocky took several deep breaths, forcing himself to calm down.

"Then I'll take 'Termination.'" He had no choice but to settle for the next best thing.

"Sorry, also not trading."

"You!!!"

"Alright, Mr. Thumb." Bai Wei raised his hand to stop Rocky's impending outburst, "To be honest, your card holds no value to me. How about you sit out for a bit while I finish my trades with Mr. Right Eye and Miss Ring Finger first."

Rocky was fuming.

This bastard didn't even bother to look at what his information card was!

Bai Wei naturally ignored Rocky's feelings and turned to look at Isaiah and Diana. After pretending to ponder between them, he finally fixed his gaze on Isaiah.

"Left and right eyes are always drawn to each other, aren't they." Bai Wei said with a smile, "With this eye, I feel I simply cannot refuse the other eye, don't you think?"

"Yes, I feel the same way as you." Isaiah gently touched his right eye, remarking, "This eye has allowed me to see faraway places. My life's wish was to see the other eye, and I thought I would carry this regret to the grave, but luckily, I met you."

The exchange between Isaiah and Bai Wei made Diana, who stood by, feel a sinking sensation in her heart, yet somehow it was not unexpected.

If the left and right eyes chose to trade with each other, then there would be no need for her to play her "Contract" card.

Setting aside that unknown information, only the eyes captivated Diana. Although the middle finger's rules were indeed powerful, for someone who held a "Contract," they were not as useful—certainly not enough for her to expose the details of the "Contract" rules, which was one of the greatest secrets of the "Contract Land."

As for her information card, it was a gathering place preset by the Eight Great Churches, and Diana would not exchange it for "Termination" either.

So she'd just watch this trade unfold.

Before Diana could finalize her decision, she heard Isaiah let out a heavy sigh, "Alright, this I truly cannot refuse."

Did an eye-for-an-eye trade occur?

Diana and Rocky looked over, and their eyes widened in shock.

Because what Isaiah received wasn't the "Gaze" card, but the... information card!

But Bai Wei took the right eye's card!

What was going on?! Did Hand Eye exchange the rule of the right eye for just a piece of information?!

What was that information?!

Before the two could process it, Bai Wei had already passed the left eye's "Gaze" card to Diana.

"Miss Ring Finger," Bai Wei locked his all-seeing eyes on Diana with a light chuckle, "Are you willing to exchange for my eye?"

Diana fell silent.

With the "Gaze" card right in front of her, she had to postpone her speculation about what information Hand Eye had given to make Isaiah forsake "Gaze."

Could it be...

Her gaze traveled between Bai Wei and Isaiah, gradually forming a guess.

If that's true, these two are truly insane.

Diana roughly understood but didn't voice it. After pondering for a moment, she said, "I'm only willing to use an 'information card' for the exchange."

She then privately shared the general content of her information card with Bai Wei.

Bai Wei readily agreed, and so the information card announcing the gathering place was placed in Bai Wei's hands, while the card denoting a gaze towards the heavens passed to Diana.

Lastly, only Rocky remained.

Unlike Diana, Rocky was still in a state of bewilderment.

What the hell?! What information did Hand Eye use to take the right eye?!

And what did he get from Miss Ring Finger in exchange for the left eye?!

Damn it, why all these calculations and I know nothing?!

Somebody, help me out, damn it!

Rocky was really about to lose it.

...Forget it, forget it, at least there's the "Termination."

If he could get "Termination," it would significantly increase his odds even against that "Tongue."

With this thought, Rocky straightened up, ready to make the final trade.

Then, he heard a snap of fingers.

"Alright, today's Corpse Friend Meeting ends here." Bai Wei said with a smile, "See you next time, corpse friends... if you haven't been killed by the Tongue."

Rocky was dumbfounded. He didn't even have time to speak before he found himself back in his room, lying naked on the bed with a pretty young priest on top of him.

In furious anger, he roared.

"Hand Eye! Goddamn you!"

Instantly waking the priest, who then fearfully said,

"S-sorry, Lord Bishop... I don't have a mother."
