Yaxoc's Adventure: Act 9

Chapter 8: Chapter 8: The Global Warning

On a distant rooftop at 8 PM, Fate and Ethereal gazed at the sky, their eyes filled with curiosity and concern.

"Don't you notice anything strange about the weather?" Ethereal asked, his instincts picking up on something unnatural.

Fate took a step closer, standing beside Ethereal as he examined the sky. "Yeah, I've noticed it," he replied. "What do you think it means?"

Ethereal's fists glowed as he clenched them. "It's not the moon," he said. "It's something worse."

Fate's expression darkened. "We need to find out what's going on."

With that, the two vanished into the night.

After several minutes of searching, Fate and Ethereal came across two figures—Ogamak and Lucius—both manipulating the weather with eerie precision.

"What are they doing?" Ethereal whispered.

"They're preparing for something," Fate observed. "They're clearing out the clouds."

"Should we stay and watch?"

Fate shook his head. "No, it's too dangerous. If they realize we're here, we're in serious trouble."

With a nod, Ethereal agreed, and in an instant, the two teleported away.

Meanwhile, Lucius and Ogamak surveyed the silent park below.

"The hunter raid ended yesterday," Lucius mused. "It seems two memory fragments managed to wipe out most hunters, except Brock, Karie, and Urioh. But where's that bird guy?"

"Flyre?" Ogamak scoffed. "That idiot got hospitalized after contracting a disease from Masoquest's immigrants."

Lucius raised a brow. "A disease? Isn't he resistant to that kind of thing?"

Ogamak shrugged. "Apparently, the ones responsible for tracking profiles made an error in his stats. I executed them for their mistake. I don't tolerate incompetence."

Lucius frowned. "Even for a small mistake? That assistant was actually nice to me."

Ogamak smirked. "You're just saying that because you think she was pretty."

Lucius rolled his eyes. "I admit she was. But you don't just execute someone for a minor error."

Ogamak crossed his arms. "I'll take that into consideration."

Lucius turned back to the sky, a wicked grin spreading across his face. "Let the world know—our preparations are almost complete. We're going to have so much fun."

Ogamak nodded. "You've been a great ally, Lucius. I'll make sure the world remembers that."

With a final glance at the dying landscape, they disappeared.

Sukorian and Nova arrived moments later, their expressions grim.

"Judging by the way things are changing… this is bad," Nova muttered.

"No," Sukorian corrected. "It's worse."

Suddenly, the ground trembled, an unseen force choking the life from nature itself. The grass beneath them withered, turning to dust in an instant.

"What is happening!?" Nova gasped.

Sukorian's eyes narrowed. "They've cast a spell—accelerating time itself to speed up the destruction of the planet!"

"How do you know?" Nova demanded.

Sukorian held up his wrist, revealing a clock spinning wildly. "Because my clock is moving too fast. We need to stop this before it's too late!"

Without hesitation, Sukorian, Nova, and the others sprinted into action.

Meanwhile, far away, Xavy stood alone, his gaze fixed on the sky.

"The Earth is dying," he muttered before swinging his arms outward, shattering the time acceleration in an instant. "Lucius, I'll get you soon."

As the chaotic energy dispersed, Xavy reversed the cycle of nature, stabilizing time itself.

He exhaled. "Perfect timing. Nature is still alive… for now."

Looking down at his hands, he whispered, "There's someone out there… someone who slays demons. But he's different. He sees beyond what we do—through memories, through imagination. If he truly believes he's stronger than demons themselves, then where does that leave us?"

Xavy clenched his fists. "If he's going to do it… then we'll have to fuse together. It's the only way to summon him."

With that, he walked away, lost in thought.

Meanwhile, Yaxoc lay on his bed, lazily scrolling through his phone.

Marcus entered the room. "Hey, Yaxoc… Got a minute?"

Yaxoc glanced at him. "Why are you talking to me? Didn't you say you weren't joining the war?"

Marcus sighed. "Listen, I was wrong. Let's fix this together. I finally understand what it means to be a savior—the struggles, the sacrifices. I get it now. Just because some are stronger doesn't mean they're cowards for leaving others behind."

Yaxoc sat up, a small smile forming. "Glad to hear that. Ugh, it's February 2nd already, huh?"

Marcus nodded. "Yeah, Valentine's Day is coming up. I got Moonlight a small gift."

"Good for you."

Marcus smirked. "What about you? Got anyone to hang out with? You and Yaxocara have been close."

Yaxoc scoffed. "The hell are you yapping about? I ain't dating myself from another universe."

BAM!

Yaxocara slammed the wall, glaring at Marcus. "YOU THINK I'D BE INTERESTED IN HIM!? YOU'RE DEAD WRONG!"

Yaxoc stared in horror. "MY WALL! WHAT THE HELL!?"

"AND YOU SHUT UP!" Yaxocara snapped. "I DON'T EVEN WANNA HEAR YOUR NASTY ASS TALKING!"

Marcus smirked. "Love-hate relationship."

Yaxocara's eyes twitched. "Say that again, and I'll crush your skull with my shovel."

"Oh, I'm terrified," Marcus said sarcastically. "Come on, Valentine's Day isn't just for couples. It's about sharing love with friends too."

"Like hell I care," Yaxocara scoffed.

Luna walked in, groggy. "Can you guys shut up? I'm trying to sleep."

Marcus scratched his head. "Didn't know Yaxocara hated Valentine's Day."

Luna sighed. "She doesn't hate the day—she hates couples."

A knock at the door interrupted them.

Yaxoc stood up and opened it, revealing Bambon and another warrior.

"Hey," Bambon said. "Can we come in? It's important."

"Sure, make yourselves comfortable," Yaxoc replied, stepping aside.

Bambon and the warrior sat across from Yaxoc. Bambon's usual lighthearted demeanor turned serious. "Listen, this guy has something important to say. Pay attention."

The warrior took a deep breath.

"My name is Kuri, the Universe Organizer."

Yaxoc raised a brow. "Nice to meet you, Kuri… I guess."

Kuri exhaled. "Yaxoc, your universe is in grave danger."

Yaxoc's expression hardened. "How?"

"Lucius and Ogamak are preparing for war. They're reviving every enemy you've ever fought. And that's not even the worst part."

Yaxoc's eyes widened. "What?!"

"They're about to unleash 100% of their power to destroy causality and reality itself, all to challenge something beyond our understanding. We can't let them succeed."

Yaxoc clenched his fists. "What do we do?"

Kuri sighed. "We've gathered our allies. Even some villains have agreed to help. But we need everyone ready. This is going to be the hardest fight of our lives."

Yaxoc nodded. "Then we'll prepare. We're ending this."

Yaxocara stepped forward. "We need to warn Hannah."

Yaxoc's expression turned serious. "Let's do this."
