Yu-Gi-Oh: Fusion Is the Noblest Summoning Method!

Chapter 391: 391

"Mm... hoo,"

After wrapping up a few minor matters, Hikaru arrived at the Knight Zone. Before his teleportation, Gaia had found him, saying it had already trained the next "Knight Lord" and hoped he could watch their duel later as a way to put its mind at ease.

Naturally, Hikaru agreed, arranging to watch after his return.

He then headed back to his workshop.

After two months of construction, the workshop's spirit facilities were basically complete. With Union spirit allies handling the building, they had, over these two months, established a small spirit city on the moon of the Grand Universe. Now, they were requesting expanded permissions to use this place to contact other spirits.

Normally, Hikaru wouldn't mind.

That said, the core of the Grand Universe Workshop was far too important, and since the spirits living there had all been his companions or those he had rescued, there were essentially no security measures in place.

If they were to communicate with outside spirits, protective measures would be necessary, not out of distrust, but as an essential precaution.

So for now, the matter couldn't proceed.

Hikaru found a spot for Mudragon to settle. Being an older spirit that disliked moving, it was pleased with a good perch.

Still, it remarked wistfully, "If I'd known you had a man-made dimension like this, Hikaru, I'd have tricked all the younglings from my clan to come here."

The old spirit made itself at home on the asteroid Hikaru found for it, speaking quite brazenly.

"Hah, if you want, just find some time to trick a few over," Tierra egged it on.

Hikaru conducted a few experiments in the workshop, attempting to extract a Wicked Rune Creature from Chaos Phantasm. When those failed, he checked the progress of his current projects.

Since completing the Fusion Dragon, the only card still "loading" was Claw of Hermos. Before, having only dueled Rex Raptor and Weevil Underwood, both legendary duelists, its progress had been slow.

It was only after dueling Sartorius under the Light of Destruction's control that the LoD supplied a huge amount of resources and energy, bringing Claw of Hermos to the halfway mark.

Hikaru was quite satisfied.

After all, crafting a Legendary Dragon by conventional means was no small feat.

Once these tasks were done, he dug out an old card,a pass given to him long ago by the Spellbook Magician.

His research had been going well. Since he'd already evolved Flame Swordsman and extracted Duel Flame Dragon for him, his recent failures were likely due to insufficient power or incorrect materials.

So Hikaru decided to "start from the beginning."

That meant visiting the Grand Spellbook Tower first, then the Fluffal Sanctuary, and finally the DT Dimension to test his luck.

The order also went from least to most dangerous.

With eight different Star Stamps already collected, he was guaranteed a place in the finals. He could visit the first two today and wait until next month, once fully prepared, to go to the DT Dimension.

After all, it was the DT Dimension.

Still, going there would give him a chance to search for Captain Crystal's kin and friends,a good thing.

He just hoped he wouldn't land right into a swarm of Shaddolls.

After making thorough preparations, Hikaru gathered his gear and stood before the dimensional gate.

As the portal's light shimmered, his body slowly faded.

Moments later, he reappeared in a drastically different environment.

Right ahead stood a massive tower-like structure. All around, mage spirits cradled books, some walking, others flying through the air while reading.

It was a scene reminiscent of the Secret Village of the Spellcasters, though livelier and grander.

Most importantly, the magicians of the Secret Village weren't all that industrious, many were effectively retired, doing their own leisurely work.

Here was different.

Everywhere, mage spirits devoured Spellbooks, even the youngest apprentices hard at study.

"Wow,so this is the legendary Grand Spellbook Tower? It's magnificent!!" The Fullmetal Alkahest materialized beside Hikaru, shielding its eyes as it looked around.

"You know about the Tower?" Tierra asked curiously.

Fullmetal Alkahest had been Hikaru's longest-standing "knowledge-type spirit," though he usually acted like a pure gold fanatic with little interest in anything else.

"Of course, Lady Tierra!" chimed in the Golden Idol, a golden demon covered in eyes who appeared beside them with folded arms. "The Grand Spellbook Tower is the holy land of all spirits in all dimensions who pursue knowledge. Any spirit with a taste for research or learning has at least heard of it."

The Golden Idol hadn't accompanied Hikaru in a long time, but hearing they were coming here had it giddy and eager to tag along.

"Oh? That impressive?" Tierra remarked in surprise.

"The Tower was founded as a mutual-aid platform for magicians by Master Crowley, holding the most complete knowledge and tomes in all dimensions, thus earning much recognition from peers…"

As they discussed, a smiling mage in blue robes cut in.

It was Spellbook Magician of Prophecy, who had once given Hikaru the Secret Village pass.

What it said, however, didn't exactly match Hikaru's own knowledge.

While the Tower was indeed connected to Aleister, the card art depicted Aleister becoming a living book after going berserk, forming the core of the Tower. So while one could call him its founder, he certainly hadn't built it.

Before Hikaru's transmigration, the Yu-Gi-Oh! card manga featuring Aleister, Endymion, and Rilliona had been running for quite some time, so he knew a bit about their relationship.

Fans had speculated that the Tower captured Aleister and made him into a living book, prompting Endymion to start a war to reclaim him. The exact details, however, were unknown to Hikaru before crossing over.

When he'd arrived in this world, he hadn't even known if the great sage Sorrowa was alive or how they died.

Still, spirits weren't the same as people, they pursued card evolution above all.

So Hikaru could see that some who studied the tomes successfully didn't gain "magic" per se, but Magic Cards.

Like the mage next to him, who excitedly shouted that they had learned "Raigeki."

That was impressive.

"Please, follow me," said the Magician. Before coming, Hikaru had cracked the Grand Spellbook's coordinates, so he'd already contacted the Magician, who had been waiting here.

"Can we borrow books here?!" Fullmetal asked excitedly, with the Golden Idol nodding beside it.

"Of course, just apply in the first-floor hall. However, on your first visit, you may have to read inside the Tower and not take them out."

As the Magician answered, flipping through a book and checking today's schedule, he occasionally tipped his hat. "Ah, here it is,Lord Hikaru."

"Yes?"

"What would you like to challenge first? The Invoked, the Great Sage, or Endymion and the Envoy from the Magical Citadel?"

Plenty of choices.

From the sound of it, the Tower was partnered with those other two places, and passing the tests here might allow access to their dimensions as well.

And…

They even had the Great Sage.
