Yu-Gi-Oh!: Transformed into a Girl, Starting with Trickstar

Chapter 26: TST [26]

"That... is that the legendary rare classic Deck?!"

"Morgan is doomed now! Who would've thought the school would equip Mr. Grant with something like that—they obviously don't want her to win!"

"A professional Duelist and a powerful rare Deck? Morgan barely has a sliver of hope left."

"Using a Deck like that against a student... what a disgrace!"

The students on the viewing platform were all murmuring with discontent, scoffing at the school's decision. Gradually, their support began to shift to Morgan.

Mr. Grant, however, seemed not to hear a word. His eyes were locked onto Milo.

In truth, he hadn't retired voluntarily. He had been implicated in a match-fixing scandal and forced into retirement, eventually landing at Duel Academy as a teacher.

Anyhow, his dream of returning to the pro scene had never faded.

He had overheard the conversation between the headmaster and Milo, and knew Milo was considering a partnership with the academy. If he could spectacularly win this Duel, maybe that partnership would land in his lap.

And with it, the chance to join the famous Haisen Club might not be far off.

That thought thrilled him. Even if his opponent was a student, he wouldn't hold back.

"Target 1 face-up Machine monster with 500 or less Attack on your field; Special Summon up to 2 monsters with the same name from your Deck."

As soon as Mr. Grant finished speaking, [Machine Duplication] shone with white light. Two identical [Ancient Gear Box] appeared on the field.

Yet, this was only the beginning of his chain.

These three monsters were mere Tribute material for what was to come.

"I activate the Spell Card [Spell Gear] from my hand!"

"Send 3 [Ancient Gear] cards from my field to the Graveyard; Special Summon 1 [Ancient Gear Golem] from both my hand and Deck, ignoring summoning conditions."

The three [Ancient Gear Box] turned into golden light and vanished, and then two massive metal titans burst forth from the ground. Their glowing red monocular eyes radiated pure menace.

[Ancient Gear Golem] Level 8│EARTH│Machine│3000 ATK x2

The moment they appeared, the entire arena gasped.

"That's the ace of the Ancient Gear Deck, [Ancient Gear Golem]?!"

"It looks terrifying! I'm a guy and I almost cried!"

"Thanks, I already peed myself."

"Bro... that was supposed to be a figure of speech."

At that moment, Isla's heart tightened. She had heard of the Ancient Gear archetype. It was a brutally oppressive Deck.

Its key trait? Most of its monsters had piercing damage and prevented the opponent from activating Spells or Traps during their attack.

Which meant Morgan's set-card strategy was rendered useless.

Jade had somehow made her way to the audience area directly behind Morgan and glared furiously at Mr. Grant.

What kind of teacher was this?

Using a Deck like that against a student—and a girl, no less!

He was not getting away with this!

"I activate the Continuous Spell Card [Ancient Gear Castle]!"

"All face-up 'Ancient Gear' monsters on the field gain 300 Attack."

Mr. Grant further powered up his [Ancient Gear Golems], and each time he performed a Normal Summon, he could place a counter on this card. Later, those counters could be used as Tribute material.

That meant it wouldn't take long for a third [Ancient Gear Golem] to hit the field.

With three Golems in play, total domination was all but guaranteed.

Finishing his play, Mr. Grant confidently declared:

"My turn ends!"

Milo looked at the twin Golems and nodded inwardly. This former pro, Mr. Grant, really wasn't half bad. Summoning two Golems in a single turn and already setting up for the next—his strategy was tight and methodical.

That said, wasn't using such a hyper-specialized Deck against a student a bit shameless?

He glanced over at the headmaster, who was sweating bullets but still looked relieved. Evidently, he trusted Mr. Grant's skill.

Milo narrowed his eyes. Now he was curious to see how Morgan would respond.

At that moment, Morgan placed her slender fingers on her Deck.

"My turn, draw!"

She glanced at her draw, and a smile tugged at the corner of her lips. It was time to show everyone that when the little beasts got serious, even mechs could fall.

"I activate the Spell Card [Obedience Schooled] from my hand!"

"I can only activate this when I control no monsters."

"Special Summon 3 Level 2 or lower Beast-Type Effect Monsters with different names from my Deck."

"Their effects are negated, and they'll be destroyed at the End Phase."

Her Duel Disk let out a soft shuffle, then ejected three cards—Morgan drew them out and placed them one by one onto the field!
