Yu-Gi-Oh!: Transformed into a Girl, Starting with Trickstar

Chapter 31: TST [31]

An ancient, mechanical centaur appeared on the field. Its towering frame was no less imposing than Divine Arsenal AA-ZEUS - Sky Thunder. This was the ace monster of Mr. Grant's deck.

[Ultimate Ancient Gear Golem] Level 10│EARTH│Machine│4400 ATK

Right now, he had exhausted all his resources to summon this monster—He had done everything he could.

Yet, incredibly, in this duel against Morgan, he found himself regaining the feeling of being a professional duelist.

Though he was reluctant to admit it, he was certain… Morgan was a genius.

However, genius or not, Morgan was still inexperienced. She couldn't match a professional duelist.

He had to win this match.

Mr. Grant had a feeling that if he won this duel, he might have a chance to return to the pro circuit.

"Battle! Ultimate Ancient Gear Golem attacks Divine Arsenal AA-ZEUS - Sky Thunder!"

The decaying machinery within the Ancient Gear Golem began to churn. Its single glowing red eye bulged, and a grating metallic screech echoed from its frame.

It charged forward and swung its massive fist toward ZEUS. That ancient iron fist pierced easily through ZEUS's body.

BOOM—!

With a deafening roar, the mecha that had carried the dreams of countless boys vanished from the field.

[Morgan, LP: 1400]

"Whoa! Where's my mecha? How can something that huge just disappear?"

"Isn't that your mecha still on the field? It's just a little outdated. I seriously don't get you guys..."

"Their Life Points finally dropped. It's only been a few turns, but it feels like centuries!"

"Totally. Is Morgan really just a student? This duel feels as intense as a pro match."

Isla looked at Morgan worriedly. Mr. Grant was a professional duelist, after all. Even if Morgan had surprise tactics, it would still be tough to beat him.

By this point, Morgan had already proven her strength.

Even so, Isla could sense Morgan wasn't planning to give up. Could she still find a way to win against such a powerful monster?

Isla instinctively leaned forward, her back forming a graceful arc.

At the bottom row of the spectator stands, closest to the Duel Field—the spot where the monsters' oppressive presence was strongest—sat a lone girl.

Jade had been cheering for Morgan the entire time, whether she was winning or losing.

She didn't care whether Morgan actually won. That didn't matter.

What she cared about was whether Morgan would be disappointed by the outcome. If Morgan ever showed that look of sadness, it would break her heart… It would feel like something she deeply cherished had cracked, and that crack kept widening.

Then, she had to find a way to mend it.

So no matter what happened in this duel, she just wanted Morgan to walk away without regrets.

Now, after Ultimate Ancient Gear Golem had attacked, Mr. Grant ended his turn. After all, he had used up all the resources in his hand and had nothing else to play.

"My turn ends."

He glanced at Morgan, who stayed silent, and said with a smile:

"Don't be discouraged. You've got amazing duel skills for someone your age. Your future has limitless potential."

"A genius like you—even if you're expelled, you'll easily find a place to shine."

"Unlike me. I got disqualified from the pro league just for getting caught in the crossfire and had to retire with regrets."

Just as Mr. Grant thought victory was in his grasp and was speaking freely, Morgan suddenly looked up and smiled at him.

"Mr. Grant, isn't it a bit early to be saying that? No one knows what might happen until the duel's over.

"I believe that the winner of this duel will definitely be me! Because for a true duelist, everything is inevitable!"

Morgan placed her finger on the top of her deck and declared loudly. Her voice echoed through the arena, firm and resonant.

Just as Morgan's words ended, a crisp clap rang out beside the principal. Startled, he looked over to see Milo with hands clasped, a glimmer of insight flashing in his eyes.

Morgan's words had given him sudden clarity. When he lost twice in a row to the championship team, he'd been asking himself a single question:

'Why did I lose?'

Or rather, 'Why did the other team win?'

But he could never find the answer—Not until he heard Morgan's words did he finally understand.

That's right. For a true duelist, everything is inevitable!

From pre-match preparation, to deck synergy, to one's mental state during the match, even luck—only those who have all of it can achieve victory. And that victory is inevitable!

Having finally solved a riddle that had plagued him for years, Milo felt a weight lift from his heart. The burden on his chest was gone.

He looked at Morgan with gratitude and curiosity—could she really make good on her bold claim and inevitably claim victory?

Just then, Morgan drew her next card and shouted:

"My turn! Draw!"
